| Posted by: fuscia | | I was doing research for the RPG and found this information about the SS movie.
"According to published reports, Rowling had direct input into the scene in the first film. If so, we can glean the following facts:
Lily and James were living as Muggles in a two story cottage
We never see James in the final confrontation, which adds fire to some of the other speculations about who was actually there.
As Voldemort strides toward the cottage, he appears to be alone " | | Reply To this Message

This one gets my attention. There are so many theories.
Was it actually Lupin there that night?
Was it 17 year old Harry who traveled back in time who's voice Lily heard?
Is James still alive? (I don't like this one. I think he's probably dead)
How did Voldemort get his wand back?
How was the house destroyed?
How does anyone know what happened that night if Voldemort was the only one there?
So many questions...so many theories. Gets you thinking, huh?

| Posted by: Heatherhobbit | | I have a feeling that at the end of the series we will be pleasantly surprised. However, at the same time, I think it will be a simple ending that we should have expected the entire time. Have you read Little White Horse? Supposedly, the HP books are heavily influenced by this book. The ending of LWH is very sweet and simple, despite the entire book being a bit of a mysterious adventure. I suspect HP will be the same. | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: daemon17 | | Wait im confused.. where are we getting all this about a cottage and a final confrontation? | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: Heatherhobbit | | That's possible Sherry, but James is most likely dead because of his image coming out of Voldemort's wand in the cemetary. | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: fuscia | | Oh, I do think he is dead, but I think that he was not there that night. I do think that there is the possibility that James and Lupin switched souls so to speak, so James is in Lupin's body. It is out there, but JKR is going to have to go out there to wow the fans. | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: Heatherhobbit | | The only reason why I don't buy into that theory is because if James is really alive, I doubt they would continue to torture Harry by having him in the custody of the Dursleys. | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: gaboman | | I thought JKR already said the switching soul things was definitely not the case....
And about the original post, JKR wrote the entire confrontation flashback scene herself. Of course, if she left it up to the screenwriter, something would go wrong and it'd make it even more obvious what the truth is. | | Reply To this Message

I never saw that scene in the movie. Is it in the deleted scenes or something?
