Kylie Minogue has denied reports she's got engaged to hunky French actor Oliver Marinez -- but has hinted the big day is "getting closer."

The 35-year-old pop star has a long history of being unlucky in love, but seems to have found happiness with Martinez -- with speculation that the pair plan to marry reaching fever pitch after Minogue was reportedly spotted shopping for wedding dresses in Paris over the summer.

However, the sexy Australian has denied she's engaged, joking, "I haven't got a ring and he didn't go down on one knee and sing, 'I can't get you out of my head.'"

But Minogue has hinted she's ready to make a commitment.

When asked whether she shared fellow Antipodean star Nicole Kidman's recent statement that she'd quit showbusiness "for the right guy," Kylie responds, "I'm not ready to say that yet, but it's getting closer."

"Even when girlfriends speak to me and they are in serious relationships, married with children, and I say, 'Well, that must be great' -- really, until I experience that myself, I won't know."

POP singer Kylie Minogue has reportedly proposed to French actor boyfriend Olivier Martinez.

According to a British newspaper News Of The World, Kylies younger sister Dannii Minogue let the news slip to friends this week, saying the pair would wed in June.

“Theyve been thinking of Paris, Sydney and Barbados, but its probably going to be where its the hottest,” the newspapers website reported Minogue junior as saying.

“Kylie has told her friends in the U.S. and our family at home but thats it. This is the happiest Ive seen her they really suit each other.

“Theyve been trying to find the right time. Then one minute they were having dinner and the next she came out with it and he said yes.”

Kylie has been dating Martinez for a year but the pair are yet to officially announce wedding plans.

The extremely private Kylie will undoubtedly be unhappy with Dannii for breaking the news but the couple was obviously expecting it to leak because theyve got three destinations to keep people guessing.

Speaking candidly in a television interview with Michael Parkinson earlier this month, Kylie revealed her worries that time was running out for her to have children.

The pop star, 35, said becoming a mum would be “the best thing Ive ever done”.

But she admitted her age was a big concern.

And she talked of her sadness at not having children earlier and settling down in a long, happy marriage like her parents.

“I know it will be the best thing Ive ever done,” she said.

The secretive French actor doesn't like to talk about his Aussie girlfriend but has, at last, admitted they are on the same wavelength.

He and Kylie now seem to have recovered from a rocky patch in their year-long relationship which saw the actor linked to his sexy costar in new movie Taking Lives, Angelina Jolie.

Pictures of the pair relaxing together off set caused Kylie to fly to the set in Vancouver for showdown talks with her handsome lover.

Olivier has since allayed all fears of a split with Kylie by accompanying her on a trip back to Australia, where he apparently hit it off with her parents and fellow pop singer sister Dannii.

'I'm not very comfortable in love scenes,' he says. 'I am a bit old school and not very free with my body on screen.

'For example, I can't play naked. So I've never been naked in a film in my life. It's stupid because when you're an actor, it's not really your bottom people are seeing it's the bottom of the character. I feel more comfortable with action scenes.'

Nevertheless, Olivier admits he's had no shortage of women throwing themselves at him since he arrived in Hollywood especially since his role in hit role as a lover in the ironically titled 2002 movie Unfaithful.

He said: 'I'm not the guy from Unfaithful. He's really smarter than I am and I cannot deal with women the wayhe can.'

But the owners of El Questro insisted Minogue was not getting married at the resort on Saturday, instead saying the singer will use the remote hideaway for a wedding ceremony as early as next month.

"It's the right place just the wrong date," the resort's assistant manager Courtney Greer said.

Yesterday, however, the resort was singing a different tune. When AAP questioned Sunday's duty manager, Larissa Tyler, she told the news agency "No, she is not here and no, she is not planning a wedding here."

Ms Tyler denied rumours that singer Elton John had been flown in to entertain guests for the Minogue-Martinez wedding, despite helicopters flying overhead and journalists and photographers flocking to the 400,000 hectare station in Kununurra, 3,300km north of Perth.

However, Ms Tyler admitted reports that media mogul Kerry Packer's personal jet was on the tarmac of the Kununurra airport were true. But she refused to say if she knew why.

"Yes, possibly ... it was his," was all the tight-lipped duty manager would say.

Ms Tyler also refused to deny reports that Minogue's mother, Carol, recently had been to the resort to help organise wedding plans for her daughter.

"I am not sure about that, I don't know," she said.

Two recent visits to the resort by Kylie's mum, Carol Minogue, had fuelled rumours in British newspapers, including the Daily Star, of impending nuptials.

AS Paris and Nicky prepare to take Melbourne by storm again, a local superstar has been keeping a low profile.

Kylie Minogue was on Rove Live last night, but as usual when at home, she is not doing much other than visiting family and friends.
A source told The Eye that boyfriend Olivier Martinez is with her, the second time he has visited Melbourne, which will only fuel marriage rumours.

Minogue will attend the Kids Helpline charity auction on Friday night, but whether the hunky actor will be with her has not been confirmed.

In the absence of our Kylie, yesterday some of the Love Kylie lingerie dancers came together to pose in front of their big boss.

The French actor stumped up £180,000 on the vintage 50ft sailing boat called White Wings after his pop princess fell in love with it on a test drive.

The generous gift is further proof that the pair are more in love than ever and totally committed to one another.

Pals now say it is only a matter of time before wedding bells are heard. One told me: "They have been down to the Riviera looking at various yachts but this was the one Kylie set her heart on. Olivier bought it to make her happy. They have been yachting a lot recently and really love the freedom.

Kylie Minogue has split from lover Olivier Martinez after a furious row in a hotel restaurant, according to London's Sunday Mirror newspaper.

Kylie walked out on Martinez after a disagreement in St Tropez just days before flying to Australia to promote her new lingerie range, the report said.

The newspaper said the couple were enjoying lunch at the chic Hotel de La Ponche during a summer break before a heated row unfolded.

Eventually, Kylie stood up and stormed out, with Martinez following behind a few moments later.

One "surprised diner" told the newspaper Kylie had looked very upset and that tears welled in her eyes as she left.

"Olivier looked furious as well. There were obviously serious issues between the pair of them," said the witness.

Kylie is believed to have checked out and left a couple of hours later but Martinez stayed on two more days, the report said.

"A friend" told the paper that Kylie had wanted commitment from the 38-year-old.

"She's 36, her biological clock is ticking and she wants a serious relationship - but it looks like he just wants to flirt, drink and party," the friend said.

The Sunday Mirror said that after Kylie had flown back to Australia, Martinez had been seen frolicking with Hollywood actress Michelle Rodriguez and partying with singer Blu Cantrell.

The newspaper also said he also enjoyed a late-night rendezvous with a brunette on a yacht.

Kylie flew back to London and onto Paris yesterday to meet Martinez in a last-ditch effort to save their rocky 17-month relationship, the paper said.

Another "friend" told the newspaper Kylie was not prepared to be treated like a fool any more.

"She's had enough. After getting her old boyfriend James Gooding out of her system after their on/off relationship she really thought she'd found 'the one' in Olivier," they reportedly said.

Pop beauty Kylie Minogue has lashed at reports her relationship with French actor Olivier Martinez is in trouble, after the hunk was spotted partying with actress pal Michelle Rodriguez.

The glamorous pair's one-year relationship was rumored to have ended last week after Martinez was photographed cuddling up to and dancing with Rodriguez -- his co-star from the 2003 film "S.W.A.T." -- in St. Tropez in the south of France while Minogue was at home in Australia.

Minogue insists she and Martinez are still very much in love, but they need to spend more time together after spending long periods apart due to his acting career and her busy promotional and performing schedules.

The hitmaker says, "I've decided to make some change so that I can make sure there's time for me and Olivier."

A friend of the tiny Australian star adds, "She's told friends and family back home in Australia that she is going to schedule time out.

"Kylie saw the pictures of him (and Rodriguez) and realized she just missed him more."

The pair have not been pictured together since early August and pals fear their relationship is seriously on the rocks.

While French pin-up Olivier has spent the past two months working in Los Angeles, Kylie has not jetted out over the Atlantic to see her lover — not once.

The Aussie singer has cut a lonely figure around London these past few weeks.

On Saturday night she was again out without her fella with new pals the SCISSOR SISTERS.

The New Yorkers dragged Kylie to a Halloween fancy dress ball where she enjoyed a dance with gay frontman JAKE SHEARS.

SCOTCHING rumours that their romance is on the rocks, sexy French actor Olivier Martinez has jetted in from LA for Kylie Minogue's tour, which starts tonight.

In the last three weeks, 39-year-old Olivier has wined and dined (deep breath) George Clooney's ex Celine Balitran, Michelle Rodriguez, Salma Hayek and Kelly Brook in LA. And not on the same night either.

But the Unfaithful star will be cheering on his Aussie pop star girlfriend when her 22-date Greatest Hits Tour kicks off at the SECC in Glasgow tonight.

"There is no way Olivier was going to miss the opening night of her tour," says our insider. "He's been busy in Hollywood and has been working on a film, Snow Goose. United in shock, love's bond grows

Martinez is in Australia and was on hand when Minogue received the devastating diagnosis earlier this week.

He seized on a rare opportunity to spend some time with her during a break in her world tour.

Martinez flew to Melbourne before taking a road trip through rural Victoria along with Minogue's family, during which insiders say the pair seemed deeply in love.

Even before hearing the news that would shock the entertainment world, the "French Brad Pitt" ignored the requests of his agents to appear at the Cannes Film Festival in France in preference for seeing his love.

As the news sunk in yesterday, Martinez cancelled a morning flight he was due to board back to Los Angeles, where producers of his latest film The Snow Goose had been reportedly putting pressure on him to return to filming.

He never filled his seat and remained by Minogue's side last night.

The couple are together dealing with the shocking news, which follows a week of private and romantic bliss, according to onlookers. They have spent the past week in a luxury suite at the Park Hyatt Hotel in Melbourne, regularly visiting Minogue's family at their Camberwell home, occasionally staying overnight.

Intimate pictures of the two were earlier this week snapped up by a magazine and a London newspaper, which are both yet to publish them. It is understood the pictures show the pair on the road trip and firmly put to bed rumours of any split. Rather, the pair have never looked more in love and so intimate.

And, in words rarely used about the superstar, she was reported by one onlooker to have been laughing heartily and joking around with Martinez and her family at one stop on the trip.

Minogue and her French beau have been plagued by rumours of broken romance since they first met at the Grammy Awards in Los Angeles in March 2003. He has commonly been referred to as a "love rat" and she is regularly reported to be devastated by his cheating ways.

Martinez was linked to his Taking Lives co-star Angelina Jolie and more recently a rumour spread that "Tinseltown spies" saw him canoodling with George Clooney's ex, Celine Balitran, at a Los Angeles restaurant. But neither has publicly recognised any other romances and both have continued to cross the globe to be with each other.

In fact, Martinez celebrated the first of Minogue's Showgirl tour concerts, sitting next to her mother Carol during the show in Glasgow. And the pair were expected to catch up in LA following the end of the tour in Asia and once Martinez's filming commitments were over.
