Daring Duchess: Fergie will bare all in a new book for charity

The Duchess of York is to appear nude but for some Cartier jewels and a pair of Jimmy Choo shoes for charity, it has emerged.

She is among several famous faces who will be appearing in the pages of Four Inches - a book being produced by the exclusive jewellery and shoe designers in aid of the Elton John Aids Foundation.

Her spokeswoman said: "The Duchess is absolutely taking part in this case. It is a fundraiser for the Elton John Aids Foundation."

Fashion photographer Pamela Hanson took the shots for Four Inches - which takes its name from the height of the stilettos worn.

Models Kate Moss, Rachel Hunter and actresses Rebecca Romijn-Stamos and Lara Flynn Boyle are among those who are also being tipped to take part.

'Tight-lipped'

London-based publishers Scriptum Editions could not confirm the final line-up because the book is still being shot.

A spokeswoman said: "It is being produced by Jimmy Choo, ourselves and Cartier in aid of the Elton John Aids Foundation.

"It features women of various fame in Jimmy Choo shoes and Cartier jewellery.

"We are still shooting the book."

But the Foundation was remaining tight-lipped about the project.

A spokesman said: "It is a photographic project.

It is not just a book. The book is just an element of the whole project. We are not releasing any information."

The book is not expected until the spring.

Fergie urged to keep 'em on

NEWS that Sarah Ferguson is to pose nude for a charity book was greeted perhaps ungenerously by one British newspaper today, as it launched a campaign urging her to stay clothed.

A readers' petition - entitled Keep 'em on, Fergie - was The Sun's swift response to the decision by Ferguson, the former wife of Prince Andrew whose official title is the Duchess of York.

According to the duchess's spokeswoman, she will appear nude, but for some Cartier jewels and a pair of Jimmy Choo designer shoes for a charity book being produced to help an AIDS charity.

The Sun, Britain's best-selling daily paper, printed cut-out coupons in today's edition which it urged readers to sign and send to Ferguson, care of her public relations agency.

"Dear Fergie," they read, "please, please don't inflict your naked pictures on the world."

Ferguson married Prince Andrew, the second son of Queen Elizabeth, in 1986, and although they divorced 10 years later the couple remain good friends.

She has endured a distinctly rocky relationship with the British tabloid press, which has regularly castigated her for a sometimes haphazard dress sense, various money-making enterprises and an occasionally dubious choice of friends.

Fergie keeps nude pose under wraps

The Duchess of York has insisted that her contribution to a book of nude photos had been modestly done, saying: "I wouldn't want to put everyone off their breakfast."

Rather than exposing all for the cameras, her body has been covered up by a sheet of black material.

"Do you think that, honestly, after 15 years of the press I have had, I would dare do that," she told presenter Lorraine Kelly.

The 45-year-old duchess added: "A lot of people are in the nude in the book but I refused to do it if I was to be in the nude.

"I'm completely covered from here to my knees....I'm covered with a long black sheet. You can't see anything except the bottom of my legs and my arms."

She agreed that it was more alluring that way, saying: "I wouldn't want to put everyone off their breakfast. Imagine seeing me nude - aaaagh."

It was unclear whether the Duchess was actually naked underneath the sheet.

She is wearing Cartier jewels and a pair of Jimmy Choo shoes for the book, Four Inches, in aid of the Elton John Aids Foundation. Its title refers to the height of the stiletto heels worn by the models.

The Duchess also spoke about the pressures facing her teenage daughters Beatrice and Eugenie.

"It's very difficult to educate anyone to the press."

She added that she showed them videos of the difficulties people face in other countries such as Afghanistan to show them how lucky they are.

"I remind them all the time that when they get up and complain about something ... there are children without any proper clothes on and the winter months coming," she said.

"I make sure that they see that. I put the video on and say just watch this."

She also revealed that she was becoming accustomed to public transport.

"I'm getting used to the Heathrow Express now. I said just now, right that's it, I'll have to get the Tube, otherwise I'll never make it," she said of her journey.

The Duchess was promoting her new children's book Little Red's Christmas Story on ITV1's Lorraine Kelly's LK Today show.

She said she was determined to include Father Christmas in her tale, despite warnings not to.

"Everyone was saying no, no, no, you must keep to the rules. I said no, Little Red must love Father Christmas. It's right for children to dream."

Still haven't come across Fergie's picture, although I don't know if I want to see it I'll post it if I find it.

A report from the UK (Re: V. Beckham) says, “The 30-year-old is among several famous faces including Sarah Ferguson, Paris Hilton, Kate Moss and Geri Halliwell appearing in the book in aid of the Elton John Aids Foundation. Tennis star Serena Williams, singers Christina Aguilera and Holly Valance, actresses Jane Leeves (Daphne in Frasier) and Minnie Driver with her sister Kate have also stripped off for the book.”

Serena Williams? I'm scared. Did anyone see the Sports Illustrated shots of her? They were scary. She is a good tennis player, but I don't know if people want to see her nude.

Why did he ask Holly Valance? I didn't really think many people outside of the UK and Australia knew who she was.

Holly Valance is sort of popular. Her first CD did pretty well over here in Taiwan, and that song about... kiss something... I forget exactly, but I remember it got a lot of exposure out here for a while. I think that goes for the States too. Not sure if she had a second CD, I wasn't that interested (hence why I can't even remember the name of the song...)

The first song "Kiss Kiss" did GREAT things here in Australia and the UK too, her second song and third song did not-so-anything. I didn't know she'd evern bothered with a second album ... he's trying to crack the US Acting market now, she got a role on Law & Order or CSI or something, she's a chick that gets killed. And she's in a new movie with Paris Hilton soon.

I think she's giving music the "flick".

It occurs to me that I should explain my bad pun at the end of that post ^. For those that don't know Holly Valance.

She was just starting in Neighbours when I left Australia, so I don't really remember her character....

Though if I was in Australia, I probably wouldn't remember her character either, due to the fact that I don't watch Neighbours
