J.LO: I'M NO DIVA

Superstar Jennifer Lopez has hit back at constant rumors that she is a diva and an overly demanding boss.

The singer -- who was once accused of demanding her dressing room be re-painted before she appeared on British television show "Top of the Pops" -- appeared on Oprah Winfrey's talk show to defend her reputation.

She said, "There's a misconception that I am difficult because I pride myself on being a professional. But I'm not. I always have good experiences with everybody I work with.

"I don't know where the rumor that I'm difficult and a diva came from. I like getting dressed up but other than that I don't have outrageous demands."

I think the fact that she had to come out and say she's not a diva speaks for itself.

LOPEZ BLAMES EX-MANAGEMENT FOR DIVA REPUTATION

Jennifer Lopez blames her former management for her diva reputation, because they used to make extravagant demands on her behalf.

The Latina singer and actress changed management companies last year as she re-invented her public persona following the end of her high-profile engagement to Ben Affleck and marriage to salsa star Marc Anthony.

Filmmaker Robert Luketic, who directed Lopez in "Monster-In-Law," confronted the beauty over her reputation when they began filming the romantic comedy.

Luketic explains, "On (music) tours the entourages tend to be really big and I think it was a lot to do with former management that ran Jennifer Lopez.

"I said, 'I know about you, I heard what you were doing in Telluride' and she said, 'No, that was my publicity people making those demands. I didn't even know they were asking for those things. I didn't know they were asking for candles and lillies in my rooms. These things just appeared and these demands became as if they came straight from my mouth.'"

However, Luketic admits working with Lopez wasn't completely stress-free, saying, "Don't always believe what you read. No doubt she can be a piece of work, but she's not the monster that people think. I'm a bigger diva than her."
