plays for 30 seconds?

how come i donwload huge files like the new songs from radioheads new album and it only plays for about 30 seconds...the whole file is downloaded but i can not get any music...have they done some thing to the file?

i'm not sure, but i'd say that's possible. i downloaded a new song by madonna which is 4.59 minutes long and it doesn't play the whole song either, its just one line, and then repeats itself. I later saw on a mtv news thing that she had something with kazaa and other download programs that made it impossible to share her song, all it would say is "what the F are you doing?" or something like that..

The songs you are downloading have been altered specifically as a means to deter you from downloading more music.

The studios think that if they can saturate the scene with bunk copies of the song, you'll become too frustrated to continue using the file sharing service.

What this means is - when you download a bad version of the song it's very possible that you're downloading it from a machine sponsored by a studio to purposely distribute bad versions of the song.

This is more prevalent with 128 bit versions of the songs and becomes less of an issue with higher bit rates.

those son's of guns! it is frustrating! anyone know where i can download/listen to a copy of the new radiohead?
