Elton has slammed Madonna for 'miming' at her recent shows

Sir Elton John launched a vitriolic attack on Madonna today, accusing her of cheating fans by miming on stage.

The star targeted the Queen of Pop in his latest public outburst.

Attending the Q Awards to pick up a prize for his songwriting, Sir Elton was incensed to find Madonna had been nominated for best live act.

Taking to the stage, Sir Elton blasted: "Madonna - best ******live act? **** off.
"Since when has lip-synching been live?

"Anyone who lip-synchs in public on stage when you pay £75 to see them should be shot."

He ended his rant by saying: "That's me off her ******* Christmas card list but do I give a ****? No."

Madonna did not win the award - that honour went to British band Muse.

She was nominated for her Reinvention tour. The show attracted criticism in some quarters because tickets were so expensive.

Today's outburst at the Grosvenor House Hotel in Central London came after Sir Elton hit the headlines last month by branding Taiwanese photographers "rude, vile pigs" in an airport bust-up.

This is the first I have heard about Madonna miming for her tour.

I mean I agree totally with Elton, you shouldn't have to pay to see people mime, but I thought Madonna was above that.

The Award-winning superstar said: 'When Elton John said all those things about Madonna I was clapping louder than anyone.

I couldn't agree more.'

MADONNA fans have hit back at ELTON JOHN after he accused Madge of miming.

While she had a laugh and denied it, a fan on website www.drownedmadonna.co fumed: “Christ, is he still alive? Is he senile, getting Madonna mixed up with Britney?

“He should stick to writing crap tunes. He wears a wig and stupid specs.

“At least Madonna is a woman, not a fat frog.”

MADONNA COMES FACE-TO-FACE WITH JOHN'S LOVER

Madonna came face-to-face with Sir Elton John's lover on Thursday night -- just days after John blasted her for lip-synching during her Reinvention tour.

David Furnish, who was accompanied by actress Elizabeth Hurley, attended a party held by Donatella Versace in honor of Madonna at London's exclusive Cipriani.

The encounter came hot-on-the-heels of John's comments Madonna should be "shot" for her "lip-synchs in public on stage."

A source says, "Elton's just lucky that he had a sacrificial lamb to send to the slaughter.

"There was an uncomfortable atmosphere and there were lots of intense stares coming from Madonna's table."

Elton intentionally sent David to that party. Elton was supposed to go, but when he found out Madonna would be there he suddently couldn't go and sent his boyfriend instead. Coward.

ELTON: I'LL LAY OFF MADGE

ELTON John has admitted that his verbal attack on Madonna was 'a bit unfair'.

But the singer, who slated the pop queen for miming at her live concerts, has refused to take back his words. He said: 'It was a bit unfair on Madonna, because lots of people lip-synch worse. Her show is not wholly lip-synched, but there's an element to it. 'Madonna is a great artist, she's a great writer, she's a great performer, she makes great records and I just want to leave it at that.'

Elton first sparked controversy at the Q Awards by scoffing: 'Madonna - best f***ing live act? F*** off! Anyone who lip-synchs in public on stage when you pay £75 to see them should be shot.'

A spokeswoman for Madonna has denied Elton's claims.

JOHN STANDS BY MADONNA COMMENTS

British rocker Elton John is standing by his scathing accusations of Madonna lip-syncing during live shows, although he does believe she's the "least culprit" of those who do.

At the recent Q Awards ceremony in London, John slammed the Material Girl, accusing her of miming at concerts, prompting her pal, British actor Rupert Everett, to brand him "bossy and cranky" in retaliation.

While many fans question the reasons behind John's comments, he stands by them, saying, "I hate people paying a lot of money to go and see shows when people are lip-syncing.

"But Madonna probably is the least culprit of them all. There are so many more people that do it, but I'm sick and tired of them getting away with it."

Madonna's spokesperson says John doesn't know what he's talking about and wants to know if he's ever even seen her in concert.

While I agree with Elton that people shouldn't lip-sync as much as they do I think he went about it in the wrong way. He wwas reeciving an award, Madonna had just received an award (or been nominated?) it should have been a happy night and he made it a farce. I think he might have just be upset that he hadn't been in the news for a while and needed somethingt o get him back on people's minds. Maybe he has a new CD being released soon?

Madonna's "people" have come out and said that she sings as much of her show live as she possibly can, but when the energetic dance routines are on, she mimes because it is super-hard to sing and dance at full energy every night for month on end. Which is fair enough. If Elton wasn't so fat, maybe he could dance, and then when he tried to dance and sing at the same time, he'd know where Madonna was coming from and

Elton John Ready To Apologize To Madonna

Elton John is ready to apologize to Madonna after recently accusing the pop star of lip-synching. "I don't want to escalate it because I like Madonna," the 57-year-old singer-songwriter tells Entertainment Weekly.

"She's been to my house for dinner. It was something that was said in the heat of the moment, and probably should not have been said."

Elton John Apologizes To Madonna, Bashes Teen Singers Instead

At this year’s Q Awards, held at the beginning of this month, an over-excited Elton John had made some derogatory claims about Madonna’s live show, accusing the pop icon of lip-synching instead of actually singing on stage.

In a new interview with Entertainment Weekly, John apologized to Madonna, stating that the remark was "something that was said in the heat of the moment, and probably should not have been said. It was my fault, I instigated the whole thing." John was apologetic towards his equally controversial contemporary, but diverted his insidious claims towards the crop of pop stars currently dominating the market, saying that the lip-synching allegation "still applies to all those bloody teenage singers."

It would appear that Elton’s right, judging by Ashlee Simpson’s Saturday Night Live fiasco last week. The young Simpson sister ran off the stage after a vocal track of her single "Pieces Of Me" started playing while her band played her upcoming single, "Autobiography." Ashlee chalked it up to her band playing the wrong song while her dad blamed it on Ashlee’s swollen vocal chords and all sorts of blame games followed throughout the week.

Why such a big deal over lip-synching? Isn’t it common knowledge that pop singers usually lip-synch so they can strut their stuff all over the stage? Elton wonders the same thing, stating that "the reaction to [his Madonna accusations] was so hysterical, like I said ‘I think all gays should be killed’ or ‘I think Hitler was right.’"

Maybe it isn’t that outrageous, but Elton could probably use the extra publicity to boost album sales for his upcoming album, Peachtree Road, which hits stores November 9.

MADONNA SENDS ELTON 'REVENGE' CHOCOLATES

Madonna has sent Sir Elton John a box of chocolates with a sarcastic note in retaliation to his comments blasting her for "lip-synching."

Last month, Elton hit the headlines when he criticized Madonna at the Q Awards in London, accusing her of not performing live. Elton has since apologized to Madonna.

But the Material Girl was determined to get her own revenge and sent him the luxury confectionary with a picture of herself inscribed, The ***** Is Back, after Elton's song of the same name.

According to Britain's Daily Express newspaper, Madonna wrote on a note enclosed with the chocolates, "Obviously, just have too much time on your hands. I figure if you eat all of these you can spend the next six months in the gym trying to work them off.

"Of course, the easiest way for you to lose 10 pounds is to just take off your wig. Love, Madge."

MADGE HITS BACK

MADONNA has hit back at Elton John after he accused her of lip-synching, saying she thought he was a friend.

She said: 'He was obviously having a bad day. When I read about it I was surprised, because I've always thought of Elton as a friend. I've had tea at his country house. I've had dinner at his house in the city and in restaurants.'

At the Q magazine music awards last month, Elton said he was astonished she had been nominated for best live act.
