In today's movie Industry, I haven't found any movies that I would consider 'timeless' or masterpieces'. I hear time and and time again from my Grandmother that today's movies have no class and are not even considered unforgettable and now I see that she could be right. In my Grandmother's time, there were such classics as 'Gone with the wind', 'Citizen Kane', 'Singing in the rain' and even the drama that I have scorned called, 'You can't take it with you'. When I was growing up Hollywood produced SOME good movies such as 'Saturday night fever', 'Annie Hall', 'The Godfather' 'They shoot horses don't they?' and 'E.T, the extraterrestrial' (Not one of my favorites but it was considered to be new.) Now I can't think of anything that is really remarkable or outstanding. Has Hollywood really taken a detour or are times just changing AGAIN? -----------------------------Moral Indignation is jealousy with a halo.' H.G Wells

I guess it depends on your definition of "classic".

I think that there are still good movies out there, but only time will tell what will be considered as classics from this era.

That's what I was thinking as well. some movies that are considered classics are overrated garbage like that one movie that I saw last night called, 'American beauty' or something. It was the movie with Kevin Costner that really sucked and I was worried that if we continued making movies like this we would really be in trouble.
