Britney Spears ties the knot in secret ceremony

Oh, that sly Britney.

Britney Spears married Kevin Federline Saturday evening in a surprise ceremony.
By Lionel Cirraneau, AP

In her second surprise wedding this year, Britney Spears, 22, married Kevin Federline, 26, Saturday evening, a spokeswoman for the singer's record label confirmed Sunday.

This time, the pop princess donned a tiara instead of a trucker hat for a small, secret ceremony in a private home in Studio City, Calif.

On Jan. 3, Spears got hitched to childhood chum Jason Alexander at the Little White Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas. That marriage, characterized by Spears' camp as "a joke (taken) too far," was annulled 55 hours later.

Among about 20 stunned family members at Saturday's nuptials: Spears' own mother, Lynne. According to Access Hollywood, which spent Saturday afternoon with Spears' mother and little sis Jamie Lynn, the family was preparing for an engagement party. Jamie Lynn died her hair back to her natural brown hue and neither were expecting the bride- and groom-to-be to exchange vows.

The five-minute wedding was held at 7:30 p.m. at the home of the tailor that created the bridal party's tuxedos, according to Star magazine's Web site. Star reports Spears wore a strapless white dress by designer Monique L'Huillier, with long veil and tiara, and she carried a bouquet of pink and white roses. Five bridesmaids and the maid of honor wore burgundy dresses and carried red roses. The groom and his groomsmen wore black tuxes. Entertainment Tonight reports they were on hand outside the home when the party broke up in the wee morning hours.

Invitations for an Oct. 16 wedding near Santa Barbara had already been mailed, according to Star, but that event is now being billed as a post-wedding party for the newlyweds' friends and family.

Spears gave no hints of wedding jitters in the days before Saturday's ceremony. She was in New York most of the week to launch her perfume, Curious, and catch a performance of the Broadway show, Wicked! The bride-to-be flew to Boston Friday to check out the Onyx Hotel, according to a Friday post on britneyspears.com by the singer's mother.

The only family event Lynne was anticipating in her Friday posting was a wrap party for Jamie Lynn's Nickelodeon show, Zoey 101.

No word on whether the couple are heading on a surprise honeymoon, too. Spears and Federline, a backup dancer on one of her earlier concert tours, met at a Hollywood club in April and fell fast for each other. In June, they announced their engagement with intentions of marrying this fall. Most reports pointed to a November wedding.

Britney Goes Bridal, One More Time

Britney Spears sure is getting this bride thing down pat.

Nine months after a quickie Las Vegas wedding and annulment, the pop tart did it again, getting hitched to her dancer boyfriend, Kevin Federline, Saturday night.

Spears' publicist confirmed to E! that the pair got married in a small, family-only ceremony in the Los Angeles area.

According to broadcast and print reports, the nuptials were so hush-hush that relatives--including Britney's mom--didn't know until the last minute.

Earlier reports in the glossies suggested the duo was eyeing a mega-wedding (think 200 guests) in either Spears' home state of Louisiana or a posh, celeb-friendly spot in Los Angeles or Santa Barbara this fall; Star magazine said last week that invites had gone out for an Oct. 16 wedding. But the duo eschewed the glitz, instead swapping vows in a private residence in Studio City, California.

Britney's mom, Lynne, wasn't even in on Saturday's under-the-radar ceremony, according to Star. However, Ma Spears was one of 20 family members on hand, along with Britney's kid sister, Jamie Lynn.

The magazine says the five-minute ceremony took place at 7:30 p.m. at the "relatively modest" home of the guy who designed all the tuxes for Federline and his groomsmen. The tailor reportedly is the ex-husband of the wedding planning--apparently the couple was trying to keep things as secretive as possible.

Spears, 22, reportedly wore a strapless white gown by Monique L'Huillier, complete with veil and, as appropriate for a pop princess, a tiara. She carried a bouquet of pink and white roses, per Star, while her five bridesmaids and maid of honor wore burgundy dresses and carried red roses.

The newlyweds sealed the deal with platinum bands.

Their first dance was reportedly not to the strains of seemingly appropriate Brit hits like "Baby One More Time" or "Oops!...I Did It Again," but to Journey's "City by the Bay."

According to Star, the Oct. 16 event will now be reworked as a party for the newlyweds' friends.

The marriage was Spears' sorta-second. Her first ring exchange with hometown pal Jason Alexander, then 22, became official on Jan. 2, but fizzled fast. The union was deep-sixed just 55 hours after it began, on Jan. 5. Three months later, she was happily downing Red Bulls and puffing cigarettes with Federline, whom she had met four years earlier and who had once served as a backup dancer to another of her exes, Justin Timberlake.

This is also the first marriage for Federline, 26, who, while a stranger to matrimony, is no stranger to fatherhood. Federline has two children with former Moesha star Shar Jackson, including a son born in July--just a month after Spears and Federline announced their engagement.

BRITNEY AND KEVIN SAY "I DO"

Britney Spears and Kevin Federline pulled a sly one on everyone by saying "I Do" at what was supposed to be an engagement party and not even Brit's own mother, Lynne, was in on the stunning surprise.

Star brings you the details no one else has!

It all happened Saturday night, Sept. 18, at 7:30 p.m., at the relatively modest Studio City, Ca. home owned by the tailor, who had custom-made the tuxedoes for the groom and all the men in the wedding. The tailor happens to be the ex-husband of Britney and Kevin's wedding planner -- it was all very close-knit.

Only 20 immediate family members - including Britney's shocked mom and sister Jamie Lynn. Britney wore a strapless white dress by designer Monique L'Huillier, with long veil and tiara, and she carried a bouquet of pink and white roses. Kevin suited up in black tux. Five bridesmaids and a maid of honor all wore burgundy and carried red roses.

Guests dined on chicken fingers, crab cakes, ribs, Waldorf salad, and the newlyweds danced to Journey's City by the Bay. Britney gave Kevin a platinum ring with diamonds, and she got a platinum band.

The actual ceremony lasted but five minutes. "He was crying, she was crying," a source tells Star. "It was beautiful."

Wedding invitations had already gone out for the Spears-Federline October 16 wedding near Santa Barbara. That event is now being revamped as a party for all the newlyweds' friends.

I had really hoped she would have a classy wedding, but instead she's done it hooker style. I mean come on: Pimps and maids? She really needs to grow up, she will regret having a ho wedding whens he looks back on this in a few years

Britney Spears is a bride — again

Groom may truly love singer, and her unending revenue stream

Oops, Britney Spears did it again — got married, that is.

Pop star Britney Spears got married Saturday night to dancer Kevin Federline. This is her second walk down the aisle in nine months. Britney is 22. If she continues at this rate, she will have tied the knot 39 times by the time she hits the age of 50. Nothing says “family values” more than 39 marriages — unless, of course, they involve the same bride.

That’s 39 caterers, 39 rings, 39 maids of honor, 39 undisclosed locations teeming with paparazzi, 39 exclusive sets of photos available to the highest bidder, and 39 wedding nights. That last one might sound like fun, but I bet that by No. 18 or so, she starts to call husbands by the wrong names.

But in my heart of hearts, I believe it will never come to that. I believe in this holiest of unions, despite the high turnover rate. I know that this time, Britney’s nuptials will last forever, or at least beyond her first union, which lasted 55 hours, which for her might seem like forever.

There are strong indications that this one is the real deal.

In January, Britney married Jason Alexander. No, not the quirky bald guy from “Seinfeld,” although as it turned out, this was a wedding about nothing. This Jason Alexander was a childhood friend from their days at Hooterville High. When they got hitched in Las Vegas, Britney wore a baseball cap and torn jeans and was escorted by a casino limousine driver. At the time, I thought that ceremony might be some kind of Hollywood Kabbalah thing, but I was told later that without a lesbian kiss from Madonna, it couldn’t be considered official.

The more distinguished the designer, the more likely the public will forget that she shouldn’t be wearing white in the first place.

On Saturday, Britney and Kevin took a more traditional approach. She wore a strapless white dress by Monique L’Huillier. The choice is important, because it supports the theory that the more distinguished the designer, the more likely the public will forget that she shouldn’t be wearing white in the first place.

Kevin donned a custom-made monkey suit. Some purists don’t like that term and prefer “tuxedo.” But trust me, after she leads him along to one public appearance after another, asking him to perform for media and fans, he’ll understand that I was right the first time.

The ceremony itself took place at a private residence in Studio City, Calif. Details were a little sketchy. Star magazine reported that the home belonged to the tailor who made Kevin’s tux, as well as those for the other men in the wedding party. This explains why all the guys had little white chalk marks and pins on their cuffs and sleeves. The involvement of a tailor could represent the couple’s joining together by an inseparable bond destined to endure. Or it could just mean that the home of the pastry chef was unavailable.

Family members were fooled, according to Access Hollywood’s web site, by Britney’s younger sister Jamie Lynn and their mother, Lynn. They told everyone the wedding was actually an “engagement dinner,” and that Jamie Lynn dyed her hair back to its original color of brown and was eager to surprise Britney with it. This tells me that Britney’s nuptials were grounded in the same solid, wholesome values common to all American marriages. What wedding isn’t complete without an insanely jealous sister doing whatever she can to upstage the bride?

Sky's the limit for lovebirds

What wasn’t clear from news reports is whether Kevin’s two children were able to attend. He has a two-year-old and a newborn from a relationship with actress Shar Jackson of TV’s “Moesha.” I know that affairs of the heart are complicated, so I won’t judge. I know that Shar was pregnant when Kevin was faced with the agonizing choice of remaining with the mother of his two offspring or leaping on the Britney Spears gravy train.

Just because he chose the latter doesn’t make him a gold-digging cad. He may truly love Britney, and her family, and her career, and her unending revenue stream. The decision for Kevin came down to either taking care of bratty kids, or marrying one.

Kevin is 26 and Britney is 22. Usually when a celebrity is 22 and enters into wedlock, eyebrows are raised. The public begins to suspect that the marriage will have a detrimental effect on her career. I don’t think that’s necessarily the case. I think there’s a great chance her career will end before the marriage. If you’ve ever seen her in “Crossroads,” you know what I mean.

But on the bright side, this can only help Kevin’s career. One of his claims to fame is an appearance in the movie, “You Got Served,” which is about two friends who try to win their city’s dance contest. Kevin is listed in the credits as “dancer.” If you don’t think marrying Britney will give Kevin’s career a boost, then go take a look at Tom Arnold’s credits after he married Roseanne. He would have never worked his way up to “Soul Plane” if it wasn’t for her, so the sky’s the limit for Kevin.

And I can only hope that these two lovebirds decide it’s time to settle down and raise a couple of rug rats. They’re obviously in this for keeps, so why not? I can see Britney in her living room, barefoot and pregnant, wrapped in a bathrobe, sitting on the sofa eating buffalo wings, cackling uproariously over an episode of “Extreme Makeover.”

At that point, Kevin would ask himself two questions: “Why did I ever agree to sign a pre-nup?” and “I wonder what Christina Aguilera is doing these days?”

Britney Weds...(Again)

BRITNEY SPEARS' fiancé KEVIN FEDERLINE told his family yesterday: "We're getting married...tonight."

Our exclusive pictures of the pair on their hen and stag nights would seem to back up the boast.

And though we went to press before any ceremony, we can confirm that friends and relatives are on stand-by for a wedding.

They were tipped off by a furious Britney after she learned that details had leaked out of their planned nuptials at the plush Bacara resort in Santa Barbara on November 20.

One source told us: "Britney is hoping to catch the Press off guard and do a Jennifer Lopez by marrying in secret.

"The Emmy TV awards are being held in Los Angeles this weekend and she is hoping that, with Press attention focusing on that, she can secretly tie the knot at home then throw a party as planned at Bacara."

Britney, who married childhood sweetheart Jason Alexander for 55 hours in January, dyed her blonde hair brown for her raucous three-day hen party with girlfriends at the Fairmont Hotel in Santa Monica.

Meanwhile, Kevin was enjoying a more downmarket stag night with his friends and family at his favourite restaurant Houston's, also in Santa Monica.

Britney's mum Lynne tried to scupper her party.

A source close to the singer said: "Lynne told Britney she'd be having her hen night back home in Kentwood, Louisiana.

"But Britney won and went ahead with the do with her pals."

Britney and Kevin have already had a dummy run for the wedding in the video for her new single My Prerogative.

In the promo she and Kevin—one of her dancers—exchange vows at the altar. He slips a huge diamond ring on her finger before they kiss. The question is... were they doing the same thing for real last night?

All white now ... bizarrely-dressed Brit drags new hubby behind her

POP babe Britney Spears has wed for the SECOND time this year in a hush-hush ceremony.

Britney married dancer Kevin Federline in a low-key do in front of just 15 family members at a pal’s house.

I'm weddy ... gleeful Britney marries Kev at last

But this time it was a proper wedding for the singer, who married high school sweetheart Jason Alexander in a booze-fuelled ceremony in January before having the marriage annulled after just three days.

For her second wedding Britney, 22, wore a white strapless gown made for her by little-known designer Monique L’Huillier.

Kevin, a dad of two, wore a white tuxedo.

Pink ladies ... Britney's mum Lynne and sister Jamie Lynn

The wedding had been due to take place in November — but was brought forward at the last minute.

Guests were only told about it the day before.

Later the couple wore bizarre matching TRACKSUITS as they celebrated in a club.

The bride, who had a hit with Oops! . . I Did It Again, said “I do” sporting a new brunette hairdo, a white sweatshirt with “Mrs Federline” on it, a frilly white halter-neck top, tracksuit bottoms and white trainers.

Write on ... pals of the groom sport Pimps on tracksuits

Kevin, 26, wore a baggy tracksuit with “The Pimp” on the back, white trainers — and a grey trilby hat.

The wacky wedding theme continued as Britney’s pals — and her mum Lynne and sister Jamie Lynn — wore pink velour tracksuits with “The Maids” on the back.

Most of Kevin’s pals were dressed in white tracksuits with “Pimps” emblazoned on them.

Bride 'n joy ... Britney shows ring

His dad was wearing a special suit with “Pimp Daddy” on it.

Britney’s UK spokesman said last night: “We can confirm the rumours are true. The happy couple married on Saturday.”

And Kevin’s thrilled mum Collette said of the day: “There was nothing I would have changed.”

Britney and Kevin had a right knees-up at the nightclub in Los Angeles after the ceremony.

But they made guests buy their own booze in the club. A source said: “People couldn’t believe they had to pay for their alcohol. One guy’s bill was $100.”

The couple returned to a seafront hotel in Santa Monica.

Venue ... where they wed

Earlier in the week, Britney had asked for naughty knickers as wedding presents.

Guests arriving at the wedding at pal Scott Hill’s house in the San Fernando Valley carried bags from lingerie shops.

The ceremony was held in a white room decorated with red drapes and red roses.

The simple wedding menu consisted of Britney’s favourite food — chicken wings and HAMBURGERS.

A friend said: “Britney decided to stick to family guests. Her sister was her bridesmaid, and Kevin’s brother was his best man. It was a cute ceremony.”

SPEARS' WEDDING GUESTS INVITED THE DAY BEFORE

Guests at Britney Spears' weekend wedding to Kevin Federline were only notified of the ceremony's location 24 hours beforehand.

The singer and her dancer husband were keen to get married away from prying eyes, so sent out special invite letters on Friday, the day before they tied the knot.

And those family and friends lucky enough to be asked to attend received luxury gifts upon their arrival.

A source says, "The guests all got gift bags containing a pair of jeans, a packet of sweets called Chew Juicy, a pair of shoe laces and a silver teardrop key ring with an image of the happy couple cuddling inside."

The couple managed to fool the press and wed quietly at the weekend by releasing phony marriage invites to a October 16 ceremony last week.

For the reception, Britney and Kevin opted for a bizarre clothing theme -- white tracksuits with the words "The Pimp" and "Mrs. Federline" scrawled across their backs.

The happy couple and their small entourage donned all-white training clothes for the post-wedding party at a Los Angeles club, with ushers sporting the words "Pimps" and Spears' bridesmaids wearing tops with "The Maids" printed on the rear.

Spears and Federline had earlier wed at pal Scott Hill's house in front of 20 to 30 guests, including the pop star's mum Lynne and sister Jamie Lynn -- who dressed in pink tracksuits for the evening celebrations.

The pair -- who announced their engagement in June after a three-month relationship -- dined on chicken wings, barbecue ribs and hamburgers during their reception.

The Invitations are beautiful, with all the other details coming out about how cheap everything else was, I half expected the invitation to be wirtten in lipstick on an old napkin or something.

Britneys wedding guests goody bag. A tin of mints with the logo 'choose juicy' and a fake rose complete with a sterling silver encased picture of newly weds Britney Spears and Kevin Federline were among items that wedding guests found in their personal wedding goody bags.

FEDERLINE HAD TO GIVE UP ON FLOWER GIRL DREAM

Britney Spears' new husband Kevin Federline missed out on having his daughter Kori as a flower girl at his wedding because he couldn't tell his ex-girlfriend why he wanted to spend the weekend with the 2-year-old.

The dancer dearly wanted his child by his side as he exchanged vows with Spears on Saturday night, but couldn't come up with a good enough reason for his ex Shar Jackson to cancel a planned trip to Disneyland.

People magazine editor Peter Castro, whose magazine was granted the only post-wedding interview with the couple, says, "Because he couldn't tell them why he needed her there, they had planned this trip to Disneyland and he didn't want to upset those plans, so he just said, 'You know what, I'm just going to have to live without that.'"

It was reported earlier this week that Jackson refused to allow Kori to attend the wedding because Federline had ignored her plea to keep Kori and their baby son Kaleb away from photographers during access visits.

Thta's kind of sad that it became such a mess that he couldn't have his family at the ceremony. I guess he can always have Kori there when they get married for real?

BRITNEY'S INVITES WORTH A SMALL FORTUNE

While Britney Spears' original wedding invites are currently out of date, her guests are being advised not to throw them away -- because they're worth a whopping $300 each.

The pop beauty and dancer Kevin Federline had originally planned to walk down the aisle on October 16, and bought 100 invites featuring hand-beaded Chantilly lace and Swarovski crystals.

But things unexpectedly changed on September 18, when the pair decided they'd wed in a surprise ceremony in front of just 27 friends and relatives.

Designer Ellen Black of Los Angeles' Lehr & Black, who worked closely with the singer to give the invites a "shabby chic" look, had mailed half of them to guests before she got a call saying the wedding would be a month earlier.

She says, "We had invitations that hadn't been sent, so we put a new piece (of paper) on top.

"I've already seen one of my original invitations on eBay. Someone is trying to sell it for $4,000!"

$4000.00???!!!!???? Honestly the crap that gets sold on e-bay is mind boggling. And the money that people will pay for this crap is even more mind boggling. I saw a piece of toast that (supposedly) Justin Timberlake had bitten into and not finished and that sold for $4000.00. Ridiculous.

This is interesting... BritneyFederline.com now redirects to BritneySpears.com! I think the reason why they did this is because they didn't want anyone else to get that domain.
