Jihad Jarra, 31, A Palestinian, who was transferred to Ireland under the agreement between Israel - Europe and the Palestinian Authority, lives for the last 5 months in a public park. Even today he does not hesitate to admit: "I killed Israeli soldiers".
He wishes to leave Ireland now, but according to the agreement, he must stay there exactly 12 months, thus in 22nd May he may leave Ireland.
Three of the six Palestinians who were expelled, live in Italy under high surveillance, however, that is not the case with Jihad Jarra. He lives without any surveillance, alone in the public park.
He said to the reporters: "If you don't let me leave now, I will cause 'serious problems'"
According to the agreement, the six could leave the country to any country they like. Jarra says: "I don't care what country to leave to, as long as I'm leaving Ireland".
Jarra's wife lives in Jenin, he calls her once in a week. Jarra also tells that he used to live with Rami Kamel, another Palestinian who was expellet to Ireland, but since Rami married an Irish citizen, he cannot as a Muslim live with Rami anymore. He says he was promised an alternative living place, however nothing has been given to him.
Two months after his arrival to Ireland he was put in the hospital because he was hurt in the leg that was caused by an Israeli sniper during the siege of the church in Bet-Lehem. He was accused in killing an American citizen in the west bank. He says that during the period when he was free, he killed several Israeli soldiers. | |
