Rage
The Long Walk
Roadwork
The Running Man
Four of Richard Bachman's eerie works are gathered here in a posthumous edition. They are Rage, a story of stunning psychological horror about an "estra" ordinary high school student; "The Long Walk," a contest with death; "Roadwork, a strange variation on the theme of "Home Sweet Home"; and "The Running Man," where you bet your life--literally.

| Posted by: schmiggens | | I have only read The Long Walk and The Running Man (again I haven't seen the Running Man movie either, It has Arnie S in it, it can't be any good ) The Long Walk was good, so was The Running Man. Both of these are things I can see happening in the not to distant future.
I actually think The Running Man is not such a bad idea, but you use convicted prisoners on death row instead of normal civilians. It would be a blessing for our Jails killing all the useless idiots in there off and a boom for the Reality TV sector. Wheer can you go wrong?
The Long Walk is also something that might happen, but I seriously doubt it. I was a little bit disappointed in the ending of this story, but endings of books and movies very rarely satisfy me for some reason, so don't let that put you off. | | Reply To this Message

The running man was good, but kind of depressing. Ben Richards took a airliner into a building in that book, and it was written way before 911.
Road Work was awesome.
I'v never read Rage, I think it's not printed in the states. I don't know if it's offically banned, but it's not in the stores anymore cause of the school violence.
King said in an interview, it was the only book he wished he did not write. | | Reply To this Message
