Time to forget FDD. But, we still need FDD for next few years. Still one of the best source of storage in some of the company. Imagine transfering a 50kb file using CD-RW. Truly not a good idea but with Flash Drive, it is very useful. But how many ppl can afford to get a FlashDrive? Yes, it is cheap. But I dont think most of the company will provide the staff a FlashDrive. Unless Dell give discount or give it out for free. Then FDD will be obselete. Just my point of view! No offence!

I haven't used an FDD in 5 years. I don't even build computers with them anymore. All computers are inter-networked and transfer of files goes over a wire. All operating systems come on bootable CDROM's and all motherboards support them. Maybe things are different in Malaysia, but that's how things are here in the Silicon Valley.

Flash Drives are good for school though. But its kind of nerdy having the thing dangling from ya neck They have decreased in price too… you can get a pretty decent one for like 30 beans.
