| Posted by: fuscia | | From what I can tell, wandless magic is very difficult to do. Animagi must use wandless magic, and they are rare. Who do you think can do wandless magic? Thread open to all things wandless. | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: gaboman | | I guess most potions can be made without wands... I'm sure there are exceptions, but from what I can tell, it's mainly mix, add, mix, add. | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: fuscia | | Yes potions does not require a wand. I was thinking more of like when Harry lost control and blew up Aunt Marge. Is that common, or is it a hint about Harry's strength?

| Posted by: gaboman | | I think they answered that... wild emotions kind of caused it. It's probably not common, and only happens with wizards of imense power, but I don't think Harry was an isolated case of this. | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: fuscia | | I think it is a sign of Harry's strength. I don't think Ron or Hermione are anywhere near as powerful as Harry is. | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: White Tiger | | Or perhaps Harry is more powerful than them because of Voldemort.
It could be that a wizard or witches full power doesn't show it's self until the wizard or witch in question reaches a cirtain age and Harry has just reached it earlier.
Here something to think about, just because Harry is destined to fight Voldemort, and might win, doesn't mean he is stronger than say Dumbledore, it just means that only he can defeat Voldemort. | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: fuscia | | Dumbledore has had many years to become a strong wizard. We do not know what Harry will be. | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: gaboman | | I'd be kind of disappointed in the story if he ends up being weak. I'd say he's more powerful than Ron and Hermione, I thought that was a given, perhaps he'll end up being the most powerful wizard ever, who knows? But like Sherry's said, Dumbledore's had lots of practice. He was probably only about up to Harry's standards when he was 11-16 years old | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: White Tiger | | I dont think Harry would be the most powerful wizard ever, because that is , and has always been, Merlin.
I was just saying that Dumbledore could, in theory, be stronger than both Voldemort and Harry but he can't defeat either because he wasn't part of the proficy. | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: Oliphaunt | | I think angerwill force any wizard to do things like that, but perhaps because of Harry's past he feels anger more strongly. But remember what Hagrid said when he first met Harry; "Not a wizard, eh? Haven't you ever done anything when you were scared or angry?" Hagrid thinks Harry's going to be a great wizard, but that's just pride and hope, so I think all wizards do things like that. | | Reply To this Message

Metamorphmagi are another example of wandless magic. | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: gaboman | | Yeah, what Oliphaunt said makes sense... Hagrid had already expected Harry to have done some accidental magic... Though he may have just guessed that Harry would, I doubt he's that insightful. Being Hagrid and all... | | Reply To this Message
