hmm.. Sun Micro has a Linux desktop system in the works (called the "MadHatter" ) for this summer - they could be the needed corporate push to bring a solid introduction of linux integration to personal desktops - should be interesting to see how that plays out. Where COREL failed, Sun Micro may have the power to succed.

Plus them with their own line of computers.. they can closely match the features of the O/S to those of the computer for better guarantees on operation and knowledgable support - how could Corel ever have pulled it off when they couldn't answer questions related to configuration since they didn't know what computer they were on? Microsoft can get away with this because they have a huge support staff and development team.. a veritable army of product support compared to Corel.

The one thing I don't like about sun's proposed plan is their tying it to a server.. a desktop PLUS a server - most households don't want no stinkin' server.. we'll see..
