| MADONNA'S HEALTHY BIRTHDAY
Pop superstar Madonna is celebrating her 46th birthday Monday by treating her friends to a succession of expensive health treatments.
She is spending a staggering $5,400 on amethyst crystal steam rooms, vitality pools, massages, hot stone treatments and zen relaxation areas at some of her favorite London spas, so she can unwind before her eagerly awaited Re-Invention tour dates in the capital this weekend.
A close source says, "She is really generous and figured since she's been on tour, she fancied a relaxing birthday. She has insisted on paying for everything and that all the massages and facials will be her treat.
"It's her way of thanking them for being the most important women in her life and for always being there for her. They have booked up different spas in discreet places so she isn't photographed in her toweling robe and slippers."

MADGE PLANS A SPA-RTY
Healthy birthday on the cards
HER Madgesty turns 46 today and naturally she'll be treating her closest girl friends like royalty as she celebrates her birthday.
Some stars would just get drunk, but super-fit Madonna is planning to spend £3,000 on a day of health treatments.
We hear Madonna has booked some of her favourite London spas before she begins her highly-anticipated concert dates in the capital at the weekend.
Our source says: "She is really generous and just figured that as she has been on tour she fancied a relaxing birthday.
"And what better way to do that than to have a real Sex And The City-style day out with her best friends.
"She has insisted she is paying for everything and that all the massages and facials will be her treat.
"It's her way of thanking them for being the most important women in her life and for always being there for her.
"She's booked up lots of treatments at a few discreet places.
"Obviously she wants to relax in peace, so they have booked different spas so that she isn't snapped in her towelling robe and slippers."
We hear she is expected at the Agua spa in the Sanderson Hotel in Covent Garden, which is one of her favourites.
She has also booked treatments at the spa of the Mandarin Oriental hotel in Knightsbridge, including the Balinese synchronised massage where two therapists massage you at the same time.
It will set Madonna back £345 per massage, with a hot stone treatment costing a further £180.
There is also an amethyst crystal steamroom, vitality pools and a zen relaxation area for Madge's friends to chill out in before heading back to her house in nearby Marble Arch.
The Mandarin Oriental spa is favoured by her pal Britney Spears, who has been pampered there. Kate Moss celebrated her 30th birthday there earlier this year with friends.
Also in Knightsbridge, Britney recommended the Berkeley Hotel spa to Madonna. This is just a (hot) stone's throw from Linda Meredith's beauty clinic, where Madonna has ordered crystal clear oxygen facials.
And while we're on parties, Madge took her son Rocco to the safari park at Longleat stately home in Wiltshire for his fourth birthday last Wednesday.
Our source adds: "Rocco may be the son of a superstar, but he's just like any little boy and was excited to see the animals."
___________
MADONNA'S spa day will be a welcome break from her gruelling European Re-Invention tour.
But she showed no signs of slowing down when she kicked off the UK leg in Manchester's MEN Arena on Saturday with the hottest show we've seen in years.
Showing off a body someone half her age would be proud of, she performed 23 of her hits including Express Yourself, Hanky Panky and Vogue.

Earlier in the day the couple enjoyed lunch with kids ROCCO and LOURDES at another posh nosherie, Smiths of Smithfields, before setting off to visit a nearby museum.
An onlooker said: “Madonna, Guy and the kids looked like a really happy family.

Present ... Rocco
“Little Rocco was all smiles and was carrying a big parcel for his mum. It was a really traditional family do – not flashy in any way.” | |
