Massive U.S. Troop Realignment |
| Posted by: USA1 | | I agree. There is no need for those troops to be in Europe any more and I don't know why they will leave so many there either. They should pull them all home and just leave small mobile strike forces placed in stategic launching points. There wouldn't have to be as many bases.
Europe is perfectly capable of taking care of business on it's own. | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: lodgebo | | It is diffrent if you are doing military training/war games obvioulsy you then may have to send troops to other countries but to have troops stationed in forieng countries is daft. The UK is guilty of this to for example the Black Watch is a UK regiment whose barracks are in Perth but they spend 90% of thier time in Germany why?
Like USA1 said these countries are more than capable of defending themselves. | | Reply To this Message

Troops in Germany and Japan 50 years after WWII? Why?
If I were an Iraqi, I'd be thinking "dam, do we gotta wait 50-60 years before all you suckers leave?"
And what happens when Bush is out of office either (2005 or 2009) and the new pres can rewrite what's in the works now? (unless of course, Bush creates an executive order which states he's the pres til he draws his last O2). | | Reply To this Message

Actually, sowhat, though we agree with this proposed extraction of our troops from Europe and Korea, these countries had but to say the word and we would have been outta there long ago. These are sovereign nations and no one is forcing U.S. military presence upon them. They WANT us there for one reason or another. Even the current Iraqi (albeit interim) government has but to say the word and we're OUT! But they DON'T and they WON'T! Not because they are U.S. "puppets," as you would probably claim but for their PROTECTION. So take your rhetoric elsewhere 'cause it don't hold water.
Now let's see, you hate the current administration's policies AND you hate Kerry… Hmmm, well, guess what, babe, yous outta luck 'cause Nader—regardless of your opinion of that "winner"—ain't going places. Neither is anyone else, for that matter. So it's either Bush or sKerry. Looks like you gonna be one unhappy camper, searchingforthetruth for another 4 years and a few months.
Bush or sKerry, Bush or sKerry
Are on the ballot like P.B. and jelly
This I tell you brother
You've got to vote one or vote the other
Or not… whatever turns you on, babe—keep your vote under your mattress or better yet put it under you pillow and hold your breath for the Tooth Fairy.

I like most of my friends believe we really have No one to vote for. So don't worry we may not show up. I am still American...and for now my vote or non vote belongs to me and no one else. That is the American way. (until further notice)

I'll let you in on a little secret, Curley one, MY HAPPINESS, JOY, PEACE, ISN'T DEPENDENT ON THE BLOKES IN WASHINGTON. They make me laugh how they parade around like they are somebody. If anything, I will be laughing more out loud. | | Reply To this Message

What's the climate now in the DHS's Bureau of Intensive Brainwashing ? Is the business going on fine ?
Doesn't it bother you to see Bush's figure dropping day after day ? Too bad for your job, you may have to look for another one in a few months | | Reply To this Message

You wish, Frenchie. Nice try, but the President's job arrangement has nothing to do with my job security. I've going strong at the DHS for 17 years now—wishful thinking on your part, though. Also, this election will be close and is up for grabs by either candidate, regardless of what your sources tell you about Bush's ratings. And keep in mind, the Republican convention is coming up! No, my "friend," this election will be decided by voting Americans. *AMERICANS*. And as I have always done, and as I have said before, I will abide by the decision of the American majority and support it and I will not spend a day of my time—let alone four years—griping and bellyaching it like so many crybaby-Democrats and Bush-hating Europists have been doing.
Oh, and sow, not to worry, the Tooth Fairy believes in YOU.

| Posted by: USA1 | | The problem is all you non-Americans who can't defend yourselves and have to vote America as the world police. Now that we have that straight, you are on your own, to an extent. We will always be there lurking over your shoulder, just incase.
As for Korea, they knew this was coming for years and they have no problem with it at all. They aslo can defend themselves agaist N.Korea without the U.S.
The people of Korea have no problem with this except for all the Lrean women who won't have American men to marry and get them out of poverty. Thank God will pulled out of the Philipenes years ago.
As for getting this done in 10 years. No problem. Nixon shut down 10 bases in one year in 1972. Moving troops out of the theater shouldn't be an issue.
Heck if we can fight and win a war in months, surely we can move the troops home in less time. Besides, who cares how long, as long as it gets done?
John Kerry made it pretty clear he is an idiot in front of the VFW last night. He pretty much insulted every commanding officer in the field today.

John F. sKerry, John F. sKerry
the thought of these two brings on dysentery
