The singer, 23, asked Diaz, 31, to become his bride after first checking asking for her parents' blessing.

And honorable Timberlake even checked if it was the right thing to do with his own mother.

But, wary of the media frenzy that surrounded Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck's canceled wedding last year, the couple have opted for a quiet, private ceremony.

An insider says, "It (the wedding) will be more like that of Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin -- nice and discreet.

"Cameron is absolutely thrilled about the engagement. They are both very much in love."

Justin and Cameron to tie the knot

POP prince Justin Timberlake is reportedly set to wed his Hollywood girlfriend Cameron Diaz.

News of the wedding has been confirmed by a representative of the former N’SYNC singer, according to reports in UK tabloid The Sun.

The newspaper reported that the 23-year-old heartthrob popped the question after chivalrously asking for permission from Diaz's parents.

Despite getting the all clear from that end, Justin had to ask his own mum for approval to wed the "thrilled" Shrek 2 star.

Justin was also spotted shopping for an engagement ring for Cameron, 31, before proposing, the newspaper reported.

He's believed to have settled on a ring from Tiffany, having showered his bride-to-be with goodies from the exclusive jewellers many times before.

Justin's pals told the newspaper the wedding will be "a very quiet affair".

"It will be more like that of Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin - nice and discreet," said one.

"Cameron is absolutely thrilled about the engagement. They are both very much in love."

The pair have been dating for more than a year after meeting at a glitzy awards ceremony.

They've been notoriously coy about their relationship, though, and denied they were dating up until they were snapped smooching in Hawaii last year.

Cameron - the voice of Princess Fiona in the Shrek movie blockbusters - has never actually spoken out about Justin, but has just admitted having "someone special".

She's spent much of this year following Justin on his world tour and earlier this year touched down in Australia as part of that musical extravaganza.

It was that trip which put an end to worldwide speculation of a break-up and problems in the star couple's camp. Justin recently sued a tabloid over reports that he had a liaison with a young brunette in London.

And Cameron made headlines of her own when an explicit video she made when she was younger surfaced on the Internet.

But during their Aussie trip, Justin and Cam appeared smitten. They stayed holed up in their exclusive hotel rooms in both Sydney and Melbourne, spending time together alone and doing everything in their power to stay out of the media glare.

Pop star Justin Timberlake and actress Cameron Diaz have chosen to exchange marital vows at a lavish Christmas wedding.

The sexy pair are planning to hire a snow machine to turn the event into a winter wonderland, with Charlie's Angels star Diaz donning a Cinderella-style dress for the occasion, according to Britain's Daily Star newspaper.

There will also be a choir and a fairground at the bash, and Cameron has also looked at creating a frozen lake for guests to skate on.

Pals of the couple claim Diaz has dreamt of having a winter wedding all her life - a factor which has encouraged the Cry Me a River hunk to agree to the extravagant affair.

A friend says: "It's Cameron's idea. She's always dreamed of a big white wedding and Christmas has always been special to her.

"Neither she or Justin wants to wait too long. They're thinking of this Christmas but they're not sure on a location yet."

A chior? A fairground? A man-made frozen lake? Don't celebrities know how to do anything NORMALLY?

Cameron Diaz has said yes to Justin Timberlake - meaning another addition to the Mr and Mrs beautiful club.

There's been plenty of nattering about Cam and Justin; splitting up, getting back together, trips to lap dancing clubs, splitting up, getting back together... But the latest reports are that they've put all that behind them and have got engaged.

It's believed the 23-year-old trouser-snake asked 32-year-old Cameron to marry him over the New Year. Evidently she said yes and they were seen celebrating with friends at a restaurant in Los Angeles - where the Shrek actress showed off her ring.

They've been dating for a couple of years, getting together after Justin split up with Britney Spears and Cameron's relationship with Jared Leto ended.

And boy, how things change, just a year ago Cameron was spouting off about how much she didn't want to settle down and all that: "The truth is that if I wanted to be married with children right now, I would be married with children right now.Everybody thinks that just because they might be searching for a person to spend the rest of their life with, I am," she revealed.

The Daily Star reports that Justin Timberlake's grandmother Sadie Bomar is upset with the *NSYNC star after hearing he proposed to Cameron Diaz. "Sadie was disappointed her grandson hadn't told the family before asking Cameron to marry him," a source revealed. "She has always been extremely close to him and made sure he has stayed grounded throughout his phenomenal rise to fame. And she just wants the best for him like most family members would. I understand it woudl be hard to hear big news about your family from a tabloid rather than from Justin himself, but she needs to get out of his life and STOP talking to the press about his business. Cameron wants to wed in Native American Dress

Cameron Diaz will reportedly get married to Justin Timberlake wearing a Native American dress. The actress, whose mother Billie is of Native American descent, apparently wants to break with the white gown tradition when she ties the knot later this year reports Digitalspy quoting WENN.

Designer David Jet Black Horse, is being flown into LA next week to discuss the plans. He said: "I am hoping to make her a really cool Native American wedding dress, with white moccasins and everything. I think she would look amazing in a white leather shortish dress with beading-the moccasins would match. She has a dress a bit like it already but it would be different and fun," he added.

Her mother is of Native American descent. The article doesn't say how far along the line the Native American-ness is. It had better be Cameron's grandmother for her to be going to all this tourble to have some guy called "Black Horse" come in and design her short leather wedding gown and her beaded white moccassion

JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE's grandmother would love him to marry his ex-girlfriend BRITNEY SPEARS instead of his actress fiance CAMERON DIAZ.

SADIE BOMAR insists Timberlake will never stop loving the TOXIC singer, and although she's pleased he's found love with CHARLIE'S ANGELS beauty Diaz, Bomar is desperate for the 'N SYNC hunk to return to Spears.

The 70-year-old was devastated when the pop couple separated in March 2002 and, despite reports Spears cheated on Timberlake, says her family would welcome the blonde beauty back.

She explains, "He was heartbroken when they split and he'll always love her. I didn't think Cameron was interested in getting married any time soon, I guess I was wrong.

"Britney would certainly be welcome back. We still adore her. It's sad. They were so much in love for so long. It seemed awfully sad to see them break up. I thought for a long time there was a chance they could get back on track. But obviously that wasn't to be."

Cameron Diaz has tired of the other woman in Justin Timberlake's life.

Their romance is said to be on the rocks after the actress clashed with the pop star's mother over the prospect of a wedding. Miss Diaz, 32, has never really warmed to Lynn Harless, who has been steering Timberlake's career since he was ten.

But when she discovered Miss Harless had managed to persuade Timberlake to drop his plans to propose to her, she apparently 'hit the roof'.

Miss Diaz, who is nine years older than her boyfriend, was initially delighted when he gave her a diamond ring at Christmas.

It was only later she discovered it was meant to be accompanied by a marriage proposal. Miss Harless, 42, is said to have refused to give him her blessing to propose. She regards the Charlie's Angels actress as far too old for her son.

There have been rumours of tension between the two women since Timberlake's last world tour, when they were said to have made sure never to attend the same concert.

Timberlake's mother was incredibly close to his childhood sweetheart Britney Spears and was upset when they split in March She is said to have regarded his next girlfriend American actress Alyssa Milano, 32, as 'too old'.

So Miss Diaz was hardly regarded as daughter-in-law material when they started dating two years ago.

Timberlake, 23, is close to his mother. He has an enormous tattoo of her initials LBH on his back, along with a cherub and the word 'Guardian'.

Last August Timberlake spoke of his bond with Miss Harless, declaring: "She takes care of me."

There's being close to your mother and then there's that ^. That's too wierd. Justin cares way too much about what his family thinks and wants for his life. He should tell them all that he is a grown man now and can make up his own mind about who and what he wants in his life.

News of the World (UK) has said that an aide to Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne leaked the news, saying the cuddly heavy-metal couple will miss their spawn Kelly's gig in London Saturday because they'll be at Justin's nuptials, reports Newsday.

If the rumors are true, Justin and Cameron are supposedly to get married at exclusive Grand Hotel in Cap-Ferrat in the south of France, where the couple first met two years ago during Cannes Film Festival.

Justin's spokesperson refused to provide any comments to the New York Post, while E!Online quotes a representative for Cameron calling the report "totally false."

No wonder they want to block off paparazzi from their wedding: in November 2004, Cameron Diaz and Justin Timberlake allegedly had to literally fight their way past two photographers outside Hollywood Chateau Marmont.
