I'm sorry, but is this really necessary? I mean a bomb that's s heavy a plane can't even reman stabilized during flght unless there are two bombs and those two bombs are dropped.
Plus the ability to obliterate a large portion of a mountain. I think this is overkill. To me this where the military wants to just finance their killing machine over really fighting a realistic war.
That's why I'm glad that some politicians don't always vote for particular defense bills. They have some necessities, but then add on a bunch of crap that is untested, unecessary, and an outright waste of money.
This is a little bit off-topic, but I hate when people claim that a person votes against the military when they vote against defense bills, which have too much useless crap in it. Spend the money on increasing soldiers' wages. | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: h@ts | | So the US continues to make bigger and ever more destructive weapons (WMD? and who decides what constitutes a WMD?) while at the same time criticising and pointing their finger at other countries for developing deadly weopens.
I'm sure there are people on this forum who will defend this hypocricy but then they should ask themselves - who keeps dropping the most bombs? You could also ask who's making all the tax dollars from these developments?
The ruling elite in China or any other country for that matter would be foolish to not develop weapons, nuclear or otherwise because they know they only way of defending themselves and having real power and influence against a US worldwide hegemony is to make sure there can be a consequence to any US actions, or even mutual assured destruction if necessary, or MAD as it's better known. | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: lodgebo | | There are a lot of people on this thread who would be going through the roof if it came out that it was China that was maming these 3000lb bombs. Everyone would be claiming that China had a hidden agenda in needing these bombs. the problem is that China will be making these bombs now and as hats said probably start to devolp more destructive weapons. | | Reply To this Message
