Age Limit Raised for 'American Idol'

I think it is great that they raised the age to 26. I do wish that they had upped the minimum to 18.

yeah, they should have upped the minimun to 18.

the age is now 16-28...that's what I heard on ET and Simon is mad about it

The underage contestants are at a disadvantage. They have to be in school each day. They loose rehearsal time.

I know I think they should of moved the age to 18...and then also letting 28 year-olds join in on this is really going to hurt the younger singers.....I don't know...I just don't agree with the new ages and Simon isn't either...and I could see why...him and Ryan were already on Access Hollywood, saying that it was going to be moved up...

when i'd heard that the age limit was changed i was almost certain that it meant it was going to be 18 for a minimum age. i'm really surprised they didn't change it especially after everything simon said this past season to diana, john, and jasmine.

I know...I thought Simon would of had them move the age up. I mean 16 is a little young....also putting a 16 year-old head to head with say a 28 year-old is alittle unmatched. I mean that's like me singing against someone who is 10 years older then me.......I think they are trying to get rid of the 16 year-olds by having try-outs during the week when most are in school and for other reasons..I don't think we are going to see many 16 year-olds on the show this year like we did last....
