AI3 tour started last night

American Idol: Season 3 Forum

the American Idol tour started last night....July 14, 2004 in Salt Lake City.....just wondering if anyone went or if anyone knows how it went...thanks

I went to tour stop #2 in Portland, OR. The show was a lot of fun... both Jon and John were awesome, very impressed by those two. JPL did this Outkast song, and Johnny Red (as all the other idols were calling him) did his old school stuff... "Funny Valentine" and "Crazy Little Thing Called Love". I was also very impressed with George and Amy. LaToya and Jazzy were also very good. I was surprisingly NOT impressed with Diana... she was shouting most of her songs, and just did not sound too great. And I've never been a fan of Fantasia, who was also shouting her songs. George had everyone on their feet when he did "Ain't Too Proud To Beg"... that was probably one of the best performances of the night. Overall it was a very good show, lots of fun. And the Pop Tarts people were handing out free Pop Tarts after the show (the new chocolate chip cookie dough flavor) and free food is always good!

oh awesome...thanks for sharing. I hope that Diana gets better before she comes home to Georgia for my show. Johnny Red...hehe that is what most his fans call him too and I think that is where the idols got it....so how many solo songs did each get to do??? I have less then a month and I can't wait!!!!

They all sung one song, starting with Amy going in order up to Fantasia, but Diana and Fantasia each sung two. Then they all did a bunch of combos: George and Jennifer sung together, JPL and Amy sung together, Fanny and Johnny Red sung together, etc. and they'd do groups of 3, groups of 4, everyone together... lots of combos. After their initial first songs, they had other songs that showcased a certain person, but others were singing too. Like, JPL sung "Hey Ya" by Outkast, and a couple of the girls were singing with him. And Fantasia sung "Fool In Love" and Jennifer, Amy, and LaToya were her backups. Hope you have a lot of fun at yours, you're in for a good show.

oh that's cool. I'm really looking forward to seeing JPL and John Stevens (man why does he have to sing with Fantasia, I was hoping he was singing with someone like diana).....I also hope they all do well and more of Diana, because I would hate for her to do bad...in her hometown...less then a month!!!!!

*cough* Well, I guess that's 'cause I've never really liked her... and I wasn't impressed. At all. We'll just leave it at that.

yea, I was never a big fan of her's. I thought she should of gone the week when Matt left.....I just don't like her voice....it always sounds like she's like falling over her voice....but I can't wait to see the whole show (3 weeks from today)
