Pop princess BRITNEY SPEARS is refusing to sign a pre-nuptial agreement before she weds fiance KEVIN FEDERLINE, because she's "marrying him for love and not money".

According to American website PAGESIX.COM, the singer's parents are begging her to agree to a pre-nup ahead of her planned November (04) wedding to dancer Federline - who, under California law, stands to win half her fortune if they divorce.

The website claims Spears, who is worth a reported $100 million (GBP55 million), had to buy her own $400,000 (GBP222,000) engagement ring and has put penniless Federline - who she has dated for just three months - on her payroll.

Spears' mum LYNNE is also reportedly upset with the singer, because she told her assistant about the engagement before her.

According to PageSix, Spears yelled at her mother, "This is my life, let me live it."

I think this is dumb. Britney may not be marrying for money (obviously - he's broke) but she can't be 100% sure that Kevin isn't marrying her for her money. I think she really needs a pre-nup, love or not. She really should start listening to her mum.

Property tycoon Donald Trump has a message for newly engaged singer Britney Spears -- "get a prenuptial agreement" before she weds dancer Kevin Federline.

Trump lost $25 million to first wife Ivana in 1990 and made sure he signed a prenup with second wife Marla Maples. The stunning model walked away after seven years of marriage with a $2 million settlement.

Trump proposed to Slovenian beauty Melinia Knauss in April, while Spears agreed to marry her boyfriend of three months in June after a whirlwind romance.

In an interview with "Entertainment Tonight," Trump says, "I heard Britney Spears is not going to have a prenuptial agreement. She's making a huge mistake. Just a huge, traumatic and potentially ruinous mistake.

"You have to have it. You're just doing yourself a tremendous disservice if you don't have a prenuptial agreement.

"It's a horrible instrument. It's a horrible thing to be talking to your future bride or husband for the next 100 years and you say, 'Darling, when we get divorced, this is what is going to be. It's all horrible. But if you don't have it, it's just a tremendous mistake.'"

If anyone should know, it's Donald Trump. But Britney won't listen, she's lost the plot.

But now Britney has reconsidered her position and sources say the paperwork is now being drawn up, ahead of the couple's lavish November 20 wedding.

BRITNEY Spears has signed a legally binding pre-nuptial agreement with her new husband Kevin Federline, according to reports in the US. The newlyweds met with lawyers prior to their wedding in Los Angeles at the weekend, it was claimed.

Spears's parents and advisers were keen for her to get the increasingly popular pre-nup - which will safeguard her estimated $100million fortune.

She had been reluctant to sign such an agreement - claiming she and Federline were 'truly in love'.

A source said: 'Everything is fine now. She signed a pre-nup.

'Thank God. If she hadn't signed, it could have meant financial ruin for her.' By Californian law, Spears could have been forced to hand over half her fortune if the pair divorced without signing a pre-nup.

Exact details of the agreement are not known, but Spears was forced to hand over cash to first husband Jason Alexander after their ill-fated Las Vegas nuptials earlier this year, even though the marriage was annulled.

This latest revelation is further evidence Britney is taking every care to safeguard her hard-earned fortune following her brief marriage to childhood friend Jason Alexander -- she also made Federline sign a pre-nuptial agreement before their wedding.

A legal expert says, "It looks as though she was planning to use the trust to ring-fence her assets before getting married."
