Paris Hilton and Nick Carter have sparked reports of an engagement after the hotel heiress was spotted wearing an engagement ring.
The socialite and the Backstreet Boy have been dating since December and Hilton recently gushed, "He's honest and sweet and I really love him."
And, at a party at the Playstation 2 Estate in the Hamptons on Independence Day Hilton was seen flashing a huge pear-shaped diamond ring on her left hand.

Paris and her Backstreet Boys beau Nick Carter have split.
The 23-year-old Hilton hotel heiress and reality TV star had been dating pop sensation Carter for seven months.
It was party-loving Paris, though, who ended the romantic relationship, confirmed publicist Gina Hoffman today.
"She's concentrating on her work," Hoffman said.
Carter, 24, told People magazine that he feels good, despite the break-up.
"This is the time of my life," he said.
"I'm back in the studio ready to go on tour with the guys."
He added: "I want to be free to date other people and I got tired of all the rumours" of trouble in their relationship.
A new Backstreet Boys album is expected to be released later this year.
Paris became a household name after starring for two seasons on The Simple Life with her friend Nicole Richie.
The sexy blonde, however, has turned her focus to the big screen and will begin shooting her first starring role in Pledge This next month.
The sexy star recently finished work on House of Wax on the Gold Coast.
She was expected to return to for an exclusive wrap party for the horror flick but did not show up at the weekend.

Hilton and Carter announced they were going their separate ways last week after seven months together and the blonde beauty admits she made her decision while getting ready to pose for YM magazine.
She tells Us Weekly, "I was getting my makeup done, and it just hit me: I love Nick, but I need time alone. I called my psychic, and I asked her opinion. She thought I should be alone, and I agreed with her.
"I don't like confrontation (so I called him that minute on the phone). I know I should have done it in person, but it is hard.

January 25, 2005 -- A SLEW of sloppy love letters from hotel hottie Paris Hilton to her ex-beau, Backstreet Boy Nick Carter, have fallen into the clutches of PAGE SIX.
The mushy missives, scrawled in a childish, blocky hand, shed light on the relationship, which ended last July after Paris was photographed with bruises on her face and a fat lip. The letters from 2004 declare her undying love for Carter, and in one she apologizes for lying to him.
One card signed, "Paris, AKA Le Bean," wishes Carter a happy birthday (which falls on Jan. 28), and states: "I don't want you to ever worry because I would never [bleep] this up for anything in the world. It's been really hard for me these past couple of months and I'm so happy I found you. You are the [bleep] and I love you to death."
A Valentine's card — which features heart-shaped candies with slogans like, "Spoil me," "Tease Me," "Squeeze Me" and "Love Me" — reads: "Sometimes I forget you can't see my thoughts or into my heart . . . I really hope and believe this will last forever."
Another letter marking the couple's "4-month anniversary," says: "I know you probably wonder from time to time what you mean to me . . . you mean the world to me. Think of something you couldn't live without and multiply it by a hundred."
The sweet nothings were written inside sappy greeting cards with photos of puppies. Another missive was accompanied by photos the heiress had cut out of a magazine showing herself looking glum with the headline: "Paris feels real pain." "Dear Nick, This is how I look and feel when I'm away from you," she wrote.
The dream appeared to sour by the time Paris wrote from "the plane back to L.A." having watched the movie, "50 First Dates."
Paris penned: "I just wanted to let you know how sorry I am for lying to you before and I want to let you know that it will never happen again. I can't explain the pain I felt when I thought I lost you. It was like half of me had been ripped from my soul. I never felt so alone and I never want to feel that way again. I never want to lose you. I never want to hurt you again . . . I'm so sorry for the pain that I have caused you. From now on things will be different, I promise."
Paris then promised to get a tattoo to mark a "new beginning" and, "to erase all the past bulls- -t we have done to each other." The note is signed, "Paris (your bunny forever.)"

We hate to take you for a ride in the Paris Hilton Gossip Wayback Machine, but buried at the bottom (Paris dirt is painfully ‘04) of Fox News gossip columnist Roger Friedman’s Grammy piece is the answer to one of the greatest Hilton-related “mysteries” of the past year:
[Aaron] Carter, who is estranged from his mother, also told me that his brother Nick Carter of the Backstreet Boys did indeed hit pop tart Paris Hilton, as was intimated in many tabloid reports late last year.
“He hit her,” Aaron told me on Sunday night at the big Grammy celebration party following the awards show, “and he hit me.”
Now that the Hilton situation is wrapped up, we can all turn our attention to discovering a cure for the “mystery illness” that strikes Lindsay Lohan every time she stays up late partying at a New Orleans bar.

NICK CARTER and PARIS HILTON have resumed their war of words, with the pop heart-throb branding his ex-girlfriend "immature".
Hotel heiress Hilton was asked last week (ends13MAY05) on Alberta radio show THE CANADIAN HIT 30 COUNTDOWN to compare her new boyfriend PARIS LATSIS to her previous boyfriends, such as Carter, reports MTV NEWS.
Hilton responded, "Night and day. He's not using me for anything... he's not a disgusting pig, sorry.".
Carter responded shortly afterward that Hilton "should take a look in the mirror", adding, "I kind of have to brush it off my shoulders, because she's very immature. The problem with Paris is that she thrives off of hurting other people, and it's not just me.".
Fellow BACKSTREET BOY KEVIN RICHARDSON added that he had asked Hilton to halt the negative comments, explaining, "I pulled her aside at a party, and said, 'We'd never done anything to harm you, I don't appreciate the negative comments. Unless you want me coming after you in the press, and you don't want me talking about you, you need to stop it and lay off my little brother.'
"It angers me that she started again."
Carter's brief romance with Hilton ended last summer (04).
