Roles in the War

Well, we knew from the beginning that the trio would be important all the way to the end of the series, but now we have Neville, Ginny, and Luna, too. I feel everyone will have a specific role in the war against Voldemort. What do you think their roles will be?

I think that Luna's role will be to show Harry that there are more possibilities out there.
That there is more than what meets the eye... I think that she will teach him things.

Neville... well, I think that he will take on a serious fighting stance, using DADA against the enemy.

I agree about Luna, the things that people think she is barmy about, might just be true!

Harry Potter-Well, duh! The prophecy basically said he must either kill or be killed.

Ron Weasley-His loyalty to Harry seems to be his biggest strength so far. And he's an exceptional chess player, which means he's probably good at strategy.

Hermione Granger-She's very clever and tends to memorize very important information. She'll be the resourse person.

Ginny Weasley-The more we get to know her, the more we see of her bravery. She thinks anything is possible and doesn't scare easily. And she has a "thing" for Harry. She'll be a protector most likely, either of Harry or her brother, Ron.

Neville Longbottem-He's finally finding himself. His parents are a motivating factor in him learning DADA. He has a strong sense of what is right, and I believe he will be a faithful fighter.

Luna Lovegood-She looks at the world in a totally different way than everyone else. She's brilliant, just like Hermione. But while Hermione gets her knowledge from books, Luna seems to have a "sense" about things. She'll have a similar role as Hermione.

Since I am not that far yet I can only do educated guess work.

I recon Ron Weasley could die protecting Harry from maybe the killing curse,

Cornielus Fudge I recon (I dont know if anything has happened to him yet being as I am only on chapter six) he will be betrayed by those who he relies on most, the dementors,

Dumbledore will probably die in a wizards duel against Voldemort and Harry will be his second,

Mad-Eye will probably survive somehow. (I like Mad-Eye)

anything else I wouldn't know as these are only guesses anyway.

I think that Hermione's strength is her brain. She is not much of a fighter.

Ginny is very smart, powerful and resourceful. She will teach Harry to think outside the box.

Luna, Harry's link to being like someone else.

Neville. Well, he shows that confidence means everything in magic.

Ron-strategy.

oh gosh that would be awful if ron died! i dont think i could take it. Not even for my sake but for poor harrys. I do think dumbledore will die though. He'll probably give his life to create a distraction or will do something, so that harry will be able to defeat lord voldmort. Although I wish she woudldnt take him... because I love dumbledore

I would be sad if Dumbledore died, but if Harry, Ron or Hermione died, I would literally mourn. I feel so connected to those three character, I wouldn't ever be able to read the books again. It would be way too painful. I really don't see that being their roles though. I think Dumbledore's role is to die.

That's how I fell, Heather... those three kids, well, it's like we're watching them grow up.

Dumbledoor will be General of all armies.

Petter Pettigrew will be killed by Voldemort after saving Harry's life, thus honouring his bond with Harry after being saved by him from Sirius and Remus.

Bellatrix Lestrange will be killed or captured by Tonks or Remus, or she will be beaten by Neville Longbottom.

Oh I would love to see Neville beat someone!

It would be the ultimate revenge for his parents.

Ok what do you think will happen to Grawp?

As much as I don't like the Gwarp character, I think he will be important in book 6.

He proved useful in book 5, and he really likes Hermione (Hermy)

And he really like Hagrid (Hagger) perhaps he hold something very important that J.K. Rowling is going to use in the next book.

i think he will be used to help pursuade some of the better giants over to dumbldores side. I also think hermione will learn a few lessons. Maybe she'll get so involved with grawp she will forget about SPEW wouldnt that be great?

I don't think we've heard the last of spew either.

um heather ... it was a joke.. i was kidding about spew and hermione.. ive said lots of times i dont think spew will end either..

I hate spew almost as much as Ron does.

I hate S.P.E.W. too. I think she should try to get the masters to treat them better, not free them. Abuse should not be tolerated, but sheesh. She takes it to the extreme.

Yeah, whatever. I'll pay for her to shut up about spew.

Here's another question, what role will the Centaurs play in the war?

I think the Centaurs would stay out of it. They don't like messng in man's business.

I think one or two will go to the good side, but i think that mostly they will try to stay neutral. They hate humans, so why would they want to help them? I dont think they would want to help unless voldmort destroyed their forest or something. Or did something to one of them. If that happened I would love to go and watch them beg dumbledore to let them join. Also I think they might play a small role in what voldmort could possibly want. Because they are so good with astrology and future telling. Voldmort can be pretty ignorant sometimes, i could see him trying to capture one of these guys to see if he can get any future telling, or maybe try to swag some of that prophecy info he never got out of them. Which he probably would not be able to get. Other than staying neutral though i dont think they will play a big role.

Perhaps they would stay out of it, but what is there was a battle in Hogwarts grounds? (which to my knowledge includes the forest) would they just stand by and watch the destruction?

Centaurs don't like to get involved. But Firenze is different. And he will be a teacher at Hogwarts next year.

i think they would try to stay away as far as possible, and if it got close i think they would attack for their own sakes. I dont know how they would change their minds afterwards. But i also dont think that the school would get attacked. I can see voldmort wanting to attack it, but i think its definetly protected by dumbledore in some way.

I suppose you would have to pretty confident to attack Hogwarts if you think about it, either that or stupid. The amount of defences that must be there.

I think there really is a Dumbledore's Army...the house elves.

Yes I can just imagine the house elves of Hogwarts marching into war.
