Britney Spears Engaged to Dancer Boyfriend

NEW YORK - Pop singer Britney Spears (news) is engaged to her dancer boyfriend, a representative of Spears' record label confirmed Friday.

"I can confirm that yes, she is engaged," said Sonia Muckle of Jive Records.


Spears, 22, and Kevin Federline, 26, have not yet set a date, Muckle said.


The two began dating a few months ago, after Spears' wedding to childhood friend Jason Alexander (news) in Las Vegas (news - web sites) in January. That marriage was annulled within days.


Federline appeared in the movie "You Got Served" and performed as a backup dancer for singer Justin Timberlake (news), Spears' former boyfriend.


He was previously involved with actress Shar Jackson, of TV's "Moesha (news - web sites)." They have a 2-year-old daughter together and are expecting another baby in July.


Spears recently canceled her summer tour because of a knee injury she suffered during a video shoot. Her latest album, "In the Zone," was released in November and has sold more than 2.6 million copies.

Over the weekend, we broke the story that Britney Spears is getting married once again. She is planning a November wedding. This picture shows classy Britney dumping her ashtray over the hotel balcony and you can see the 2 carat "D" color diamond... price tag $35,000.

Now here's the kicker: Kevin took Britney to the jeweler, he told her to pick out "whichever one you want." And then he charged it on Brit's "black centurion" American Express card. That's right, Britney Spears paid for her own engagement ring!

Nice ring!!!!!!

Britney Spears has been enjoying a reclusive few days at five star Hotel the Ritz in Marina Del Rey. Over a three day period ( Monday to Wednesday) at the $1500 a night hotel, Britney and fiance Kevin Federline have indulged in some trademark Britney rituals, including binge drinking cocktails, chain smoking and the little known but seemingly adorable love ritual of squeezing each others pimples. The inseparable duo has spent much of their stay sunning themselves by the hotel outdoor pool.

Britney, dressed in a skimpy white string bikini and cowboy hat has been all over her man, kissing and cuddling him constantly. When she was not downing a cocktail or dragging on a cigarette, the Toxic princess has been signing autographs for the 15 or so staff and guests near the pool.

Despite shelling out $40,000 of her own money for her own engagement ring, Brit has also adopted the habit of proudly displaying it to anyone who passes by.

I think Britney is a waste....she gets married for 55 hours for what she calls a bad joke and now she has to buy her own ring...I just think she needs to grow-up

I think that has a lot to do with her getting married, in her mind, maybe, being married in a real wedding and having a real long term real relationship will make people see her as grown up and adult. Or something.

I think it all went downhill when she broke up with Justin Timberlake. He must've really screwed her up.

THE battle between Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears has been relaunched after Christina slagged her rival's engagement ring. The pop diva says she wouldn't conduct her engagement in the way she has with Kevin Federline and said Britney was acting like 'trailer trash'.

But the most cutting comment came when she described the ring, reportedly costing £25,000, as coming from a mail order catalogue.

She said: 'It looks like she got it on QVC.'

I keep saying it: If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all.

Besides, Christina's probably just jealous, coz she's not getting married!
