Since Harry saved his life from the dementors, will Dudley's attitude towards Harry change? Will he be more fearful of Harry, or realized that Harry saved him when he did not have to do so? Could Dudley be the person who learns magic late in life? Did the dementors go after Dudley because they sensed some magic in him? Thread open to Dudley.

I thought that maybe Dudley and Petunia could be wizards, too. Wouldn't that be weird? I read a theory somewhere (I don't remember where) that the prophecy was actually about Dudley, and not Harry or Neville. On the other hand, though, wouldn't Dumbledore know if Dudley was a wizard? I don't really buy into that theory, but it would be a real twist, wouldn't it?

That theory is so off, the Dursleys had no power to go against Voldemort, unless you count not inviting him for dinner. That is one reason why I don't stray far from our HP forum. We do have the best minds out looking for clues. You guys are the best.

Yeah, I've noticed that there are some real weird theories out there. You guys are a bit more sensible.

a vicious vicious rumor!!

Heheheh Dudley being a wizard... there was a fan story online once that encorporated that... was just so lame

I think Dudley wont appreciate Harry saving him, perhaps grow more jealous, more vicious towards him... which can't be good fer poor 'arry now, can' it?

There is NO way that Dudley will be a wizard. If he turned out to be the "late bloomer" though, we know where he would be placed: Slytherin, with all of the other scum.

I just wanted to say how appropriate that I find his character name.

After all, Dudley is a dud... a bore.

Dudley probably will not change, unless he goes through that rebelious stage. You need someone to hate in stories and he adds to the family that Harry hates.

(I am on Order of the Pheonix chapter 6 now, I quite a fast reader considering that I only started reading the books about three weeks ago.)

Well better get back on track before we get moaned at.

I wonder if any of the Dursleys attitudes torwards Harry would change even if he was dead.

well i think it would be akward for them to not have anyone to poke fun at. I mean its almost like it would be buyers remorse... you want something so badly and then you get it and it sucks. I think that if harry did die, it would be like they finally get the perfect family that they've always wanted and it would suck. No one to do all the chores anymore, or for dudley to poke fun of. I think they would kind of miss him. not because they love him, but because hes just always been there.

Hmm.. I see a possible Harry saves Dudley/James saves Snape parallel here...

Oh, the look on Snape's face if he knew he was being compared to Dudley..
