We know that the Death Eaters have the dark mark on them. Will the Ministry go on a witch hunt so to speak and start searching people for the mark? Will the death eaters try to conceal the mark?

I think that would be great, if they did go looking for Death Eaters.

But, what's to say that those who ARE Death Eaters, won't say that they were, many years ago, and have since seen the "light" and have changed? What can they prove? I mean, I don't believe that the mark is removable. If it were possible, I think that Snape's would be long gone by now.

I was thinking that. But Dumbledore may do something to protect Snape if that happened...

They may use a veritaserum (or however you spell it!) to make sure they tell the truth...

Yes, that would be great if they did that... but CAN they do that? What are the requirements/laws through the MoM to use that potion on another wizard?

I'm sure Fudge could alter whatever te rules are.

The truth serum (I don't know how to spell the "v" word either) must be strictly controlled, otherwise they would have used it on Harry and Dumbledore.

They used it on Barty Crouch Jr. I think that Snape kept his mark also because he is a double agent.

Or maybe he just can't remove it.

I don't think the mark can be removed. Remember Karkaroff still had his, and he didn't seem to want it anymore.

I caused a few of those in our old house...
