JUS received this letter today that is rather unsettling. We can not verify the report you are about to read however there have been several similar news reportss coming out of the UK and Pakistan about similar events that lead us to believe this eye witness account may have some credibility. The letter has been corrected for spelling and grammar.
Dear Sir,
I work as a nurse in major hospital in Kuwait and in the last 5 days, things have gone wild here. A very big area of the hospital have been isolated and packed with mobile freezers. First I thought that this was to prepare us as a battle hospital then the freezers started coming in by huge trailers after 2 am in the morning. These trailers come to this isolated area under the guise of food and medical supplies.
The shocking news is that I am a witness to what I am about to say because the clean room for my endoscope operating theatre is a little room with small windows that lays exactly on the top of this isolated area. The news I am about to tell you is true and MAY GOD BE MY WITTNESS.
I counted at least 700 American or British bodies been carried away in these freezers after tagging them and putting them in purple bags that we use here in the hospital for hazardous waste. Two of these mobile freezers have been removed from the area by big helicopter after they were filled.
Last night the hospital manager asked that our division (that can see everything from our room) be transferred to another nearby clinic and currently all our endoscope procedures are on hold until we receive further instructions.
I can not tell you my name. | | Reply To this Message

that is perhaps the most laughable thing i've ever read. | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: photek | | i'd like know how she could have 'counted at least 700 american or british bodies.'
seriously nowar, is this a joke?
your arguments so far have been valid from their respective view, and your posts seemingly coherent with good support.
and now you post this?
what happened? | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: ickle | | OK, the word is out but you you don't know the whole story. The reason that it is being kept so secret is that they are actually war cyborgs developed by the CIA.
But where did the CIA get the body parts? You haven't seen the prisoners in Guantanamo on the news lately, have you? | | Reply To this Message

loba, this is the exact same kind of propaganda that's featured in a 'letter' which was posted here entitled 'letter from american living in baghdad to president bush.' i'am not sure if you have read it, but it sounded a lot like this.
and if it's not true, then why was it even posted?
the language very much resembles that of mohammed saeed al-sahaff [iraqi info minister]. 'do not believe the lies by the liars...' or how about '..saddam hussein encourages everyone to be truthful....'
and here we have the 'truth,' as god is 'her witness.'
by the way, i follow a lot of domestic and international written as well as televised media, and i have not heard this anywhere.

Also to my opinion, Nowar should'nt post it, even with his reservations. He had a different idea. I respect it, as he usually posts very seriously

| Posted by: Charles | | Keep in mind that in the commercial media's desire to fill the airwaves 24X7X365 with news faster than the competitors they come out with "news" before its verified. Its crappy journalism - nothing more.
Do not draw the incorrect conclusion nowar that it is state sponsored propaganda. | | Reply To this Message

Freed US POWs Describe Ordeal
Apr 14, 2003
Source: BBC
The seven rescued US prisoners of war (POWs) were increasingly certain they faced death, as their Iraqi captors were unsure what to do with them, it has emerged.
Instead - after three weeks in captivity - the POWs were freed on Sunday, when US marines stormed a house near the northern town of Samarra, where they were being held.
"It was getting to the point where I believed they were going to kill us," Shoshana Johnson, from 507th Maintenance Company, told a Washington Post reporter.
Johnson, 30, said the marines kicked in a door, shouting: "If you're an American, stand up!" We stood up and they hustled us out of there," another prisoner, 23-year-old Private First Class Patrick Mille, said.
The US POWs - who were moved around constantly - said they were beaten and interrogated. But they said they were given medical treatment and were not subjected to torture.
Nevertheless, as US troops closed in fast, the prisoners feared they were going to be killed. "I thought I would never see my wife again," Chief Warrant Officer David Williams said.
They said that at one point, US bombs smashed the bricks of their prison, but their guards prevented them from escaping. They said that until their rescue they did not know that Baghdad had fallen or that one of their captured comrade Jessica Lynch had been rescued in a daring raid.
Five of them were taken on 23 March when their convoy made a wrong turn near the southern city of Nasiriya and was ambushed by Iraqi forces. The two other US soldiers were captured on 24 March after their Apache helicopter was shot down near the town of Karbala in central Iraq.
Shortly after their capture, the US POWs were shown on Iraqi state television being interrogated by their captors. he pictures sent shockwaves throughout America, and Washington immediately accused the Iraqi authorities of breaching the Geneva Convention.
'No Choice'
The five members of the 507th Company described the moment they realised they were being ambushed. "We got turned around and then lost and we rolled into Nasiriya before it was secure and when we rolled in there was an ambush waiting for us," Shoshana Johnson said. "It wasn't a small ambush," Sergeant Riley said. "It was a whole city. And we were getting shot from all different directions... front, rear, left, right". The soldiers said that nine US troops were killed in the firefight.
They said their automatic weapons jammed in the sand storm, and some tried to reload their rifles manually. Finally, Sgt Riley - who was the senior soldier present - made a decision to surrender. "We were like Custer. We were surrounded. We had no working weapons," Sgt Riley said. "We couldn't even make a bayonet charge - we would have been mowed down. We didn't have a choice."
Driven Around
A day later, the two soldiers from the shot down Apache helicopter arrived. Chief Warrant officers David Williams and Ronald Young said that after surviving the crash they jumped in the canal and swam nearly half a kilometre (quarter of a mile) with just their head above the surface.
But when running for cover towards a line of trees, they were caught by armed Iraqi farmers. "They beat us a little. One of them had a stick. They took a knife and put it to my throat," Chief Warrant Officer Williams recalled. He said they were then thrown in the back of an open lorry and driven around to show Iraqis that American soldiers were captured.
Jubilation
There are still conflicting reports how the POWs were found. Ronald Young's parents recognised him on TV. By some accounts their location was revealed by Iraqi soldiers, while some of the marines said local residents tipped them to the house.
There were scenes of jubilation and relief as the families of the seven POWs learned the news that their loved ones had been rescued. Some of the families were told by the Pentagon that US forces had recovered the soldiers, while others recognised their freed relatives on television before official notification. Another six US soldiers are officially listed by the Pentagon as missing-in-action (MIAs). |

A Message To The Iraqi People From George W. Bush
Apr 11, 2003
Source: Washington File
This is George W. Bush, the President of the United States. At this moment, the regime of Saddam Hussein is being removed from power, and a long era of fear and cruelty is ending. American and coalition forces are now operating inside Baghdad -- and we will not stop until Saddam's corrupt gang is gone. The government of Iraq, and the future of your country, will soon belong to you.
The goals of our coalition are clear and limited. We will end a brutal regime, whose aggression and weapons of mass destruction make it a unique threat to the world. Coalition forces will help maintain law and order, so that Iraqis can live in security. We will respect your great religious traditions, whose principles of equality and compassion are essential to Iraq's future. We will help you build a peaceful and representative government that protects the rights of all citizens. And then our military forces will leave. Iraq will go forward as a unified, independent and sovereign nation that has regained a respected place in the world.
The United States and its coalition partners respect the people of Iraq. We are taking unprecedented measures to spare the lives of innocent Iraqi citizens, and are beginning to deliver food, water and medicine to those in need. Our only enemy is Saddam's brutal regime -- and that regime is your enemy as well.
In the new era that is coming to Iraq, your country will no longer be held captive to the will of a cruel dictator. You will be free to build a better life, instead of building more palaces for Saddam and his sons, free to pursue economic prosperity without the hardship of economic sanctions, free to travel and speak up your mind, free to join in the political affairs of Iraq. And all the people who make up your country -- Kurds, Shi'a, Turkomans, Sunnis and others -- will be free of the terrible persecution that so many have endured.
The nightmare that Saddam Hussein has brought to your nation will soon be over. You are a good and gifted people -- the heirs of a great civilization that contributes to all humanity. You deserve better than tyranny and corruption and torture chambers. You deserve to live as free people. And I assure every citizen of Iraq: your nation will soon be free.
Thank you. |

| Posted by: Sean Kelly | | okay, I really don't know what the point was of those last two postings in the context of this thread, but regarding the initial message, it wouldn't surprise me one bit if there were more than acknowledged coalition casualties. I recall the same outcome from the first gulf war when the U.S. announced unbelievably low casualties, but over time additional number were released bit by bit. | | Reply To this Message

i thought they were pretty accurate. Don't forget there is a lag before casualties can be officially announced, and thre is a difference between how casualties are presented. Combat in general, enemy action, friendly fire, accidental, etc. One of the biggest accidents was an amphibious boat going down off the coast of Isreal before the war even started.

this would nearly be a "Primary source" and the others are known as "Secondary"
The Secondary appears more creditable to me not coming from an area known to be more bias then the primary.
My first post in this thread was an item known as a "joke" or "joking sarcasm"
I'm sure there has been more deaths then listed - and there will be those "un-accounted for." anthing with the word "Jihad" in it - news wise - has usually said what it needed to get muslim support or to obtain rises from them.
I'm going down? to were? Hell?
Perhaps, but I doubt it. | | Reply To this Message
