Book 5: HP & the Order of the Phoenix Forum

Thread open to Alberforth Dumbledore, mysterious and less powerful brother of Albus. Most of the Order of the Phoenix are not familiar with him, so what does he do for the order?

Was he the barman in the Hogs Head? Did he catch the spy who overheard the prophecy? Why would he perform and illegal charm on goats? Can he read?

Maybe he's secretly a set of eyes and ears for his brother, and helps to gather info for the Order.

I believe that he was the barman in the Hogs Head. He looked familiar to Harry, and there was the smell of goats. I think that since seedy wizards frequent the Hogs Head, he is the ears of the Order there.

Yes... that's what I'm thinking too. He can get quite a bit of info there.

And all the ale he can drink!

I do wonder why Albertforth keeps such a low profile, and I have to think that it has to do with being able to spy on the other side.

And if Voldie found out he was Dumbledore's brother he would be a target for being killed.
