| Posted by: Heatherhobbit | | There is a rumor that a Weasley will die in the next book. Who do you think or hope it will be? | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: fuscia | | Dang, we had a thread on this and I could not find it to merge. Oh, well, this new one will do just fine.
I think it will be Percy. He will do anything for power and I think he will align himself with people who can give it to him. He will have a change of heart and be killed by death eaters. | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: Heatherhobbit | | I looked for a duplicate thread before I made this one, Sherry. Couldn't find one.
When Mrs. Weasley was dealing with her boggart, which child was missing? I remember it was either Bill or Charlie. Could be foreshadowing.
Could it be Ron? I hope not! But he did "sacrifice himself" during the chess game in book one so that Harry and Hermione could move on.
Fred or George? They are basically the same person. One character. Is one expendable?
Ginny? She's already been possessed by Voldemort. Does he still have some control over her.
Mr. Weasley? Could he die from complications from his bite?
Mrs. Weasley? What would Harry do if he lost another "mother".
Percy? Isn't that predictable? | | Reply To this Message

Well during a meal at Grimmauld place, (I can't remember which one but I remember noticing this at the time) Sirius was the first to leave when there were 13 people and look how he turned out! | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: Heatherhobbit | | There are many theories that Dumbledore's death will be the one to send Harry over the edge, but it may be Ron's. Ron's death would send Hermione and the whole Weasley family over the edge too. I hope not, though. Ron's my favorite character, and I really don't want to see the trio broken apart. | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: Blaise | | I know! I don't want Ron to die, but it stands to reason that after Sirius, Ron is probably the one person Harry would go to any lengths to save - again something Voldemort may play on as he did with Sirius?
In the world book day chat J.K answered this:
Debbie: What will Ron's job be when he leaves school?
JK Rowling replies - >Well, assuming he lives to leave school......I'm not going to tell you
cryptic as ever! it could just be a throw away comment to try and cause speculation, but you never know with JK!
but I did notice that she answered this:
gazza: will harry become headmaster of hogwarts
JK Rowling replies - > I'm not sure I can see Harry in an academic career, he's seen so much action!
From which i get the impression that this answer wasn't thought about too carefully whereas the answer to the ron question was obviosly carefully worded so as to create an impression.
I always thought she would kill Harry off in book 7, but this has made me slighlty unsure! What does everyone else think? | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: fuscia | | She said in one interview that she might right about Harry later after Hogwarts, it was a "never say never" comment. Harry will live or her fan will never leave her alone. She would be the woman who killed Harry.
Firenze in the Forrest in book 1 said that the "the innocent are the first to die" and he was looking at the unicorn. Cedric Diggory had a unicorn tail core in his wand, and he died. Ron's new wand has a unicorn tail core. | | Reply To this Message

SOrry Heather. I don't think she will kill off Ron. It could be Bill as he is a member of the Order.

I won't care if he dies either. I never really liked him. |
I'm talking about Percy, not Ron.

| Posted by: fuscia | | I hope it is Percy. He turned his back on his family. He is power hungry and a pompous creep. | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: Lawless | | Yes, he showed how easily it was to turn on the very people who loved him, raised him, looked up to him, trusted him, etc.... He will need to do a lot of making up for me to forgive him. | | Reply To this Message
|
| Posted by: Lawless | | Okay... THAT will make up for it. Especially if it's Harry that he ended up protecting, after all he said about him. | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: CelticDragon | | Good point about the missing character with Mrs. Weasly's boggart. Please no! Kill Percy not one of them! With the twins, they are a little bit different. Fred's more talkative and George a little laid back...maybe that's not quite the right phrase, but you know what I mean...I hope. lol
I don't think Ron will die. He may come close to it, but I don't think JK would kill him off. Maybe two people rising from the table at the same time negates the curse? | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: agent mike | | Although the only book that Harry could possibly die in is Book 7 as the story is told through his eyes, by that logic, his death would still be awkward -How would she word it? 'And then all turned to darkness and Harry felt his heart beat its last'? And even if she got away with something like that, she still wouldn't be able to write an epilogue without diverting from the 'through Harry's eyes' rule. | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: Heatherhobbit | | Do you realize what would happen if Ms Rowling killed off Harry, Ron, or Hermione? She would recieve a lot of howlers! So, I don't think Ron will be the dead Weasley, but you never know. | | Reply To this Message

I could not find this part in the book, Sherry. Are you sure it's in there. I read that part several times.

| Posted by: Lawless | | That is creepy... but I can't see Ron dying. That would be so horrible.
We know that there is going to be a lot of death in the coming books...
but, I would hope she would spare the three main characters. | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: fuscia | | Don't freak out, it could have just meant that Cedric would die. Perhaps Percy has a unicorn tail core too. | | Reply To this Message

Unless he was a ghost...
Whoever said Percey is the obvious choice to die has the right idea
but better him than Ron

| Posted by: fuscia | | Hmm, now this is really out there, but Scabbers was a Weasley, so perhaps Wormtail will die and she just got us with semantics. | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: Heatherhobbit | | Ron's old wand had a unicorn hair in it too. Wasn't it Bill's? Why did Bill give away his wand? Did he get a new one? | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: Lawless | | Heather... if you checked the Gryffindor Common room, you would see that you've been promoted to prefect. So, let the head swell (a little bit) | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: Heatherhobbit | | Thanks CD. I knew it was one of them. Charlie's wand had a unicorn hair in it. Charlie works with dragons in Romania. | | Reply To this Message
|
| Posted by: CelticDragon | | Odd isn't it? You'd think that what with him being such a dragon enthusiast, JK would have given him a wand with a dragon heartstring core instead. Go figure. lol | | Reply To this Message
|
| Posted by: Heatherhobbit | | Well, maybe she gave him a wand with a unicorn hair in it because of what Ronan said about innocents dying. | | Reply To this Message
|
| Posted by: fuscia | | Wand chooses the wizard. Maybe the wands with the dragon cores did not want Charlie to master them. | | Reply To this Message
