We are supposed to learn what happened to Sirius' motorbike in the next book? What do you believe happened to it after Hagrid delivered Harry to the Dursleys?

I've been wondering about this!
I'd completely forgotten about Sirius's motorbike until I read a discussion with J.K where someone asked her what had happened to it, and she said something about we WILL find out, but some people might be able to figure it out...... mysterious as ever!

So does this mean that Hagrid was left with the bike after he dropped Harry off, or did he return it to Sirius-presumably before the incident with peter pettigrew?
in OotP, Kingsley Shacklebolt mentions that there has 'been a sighting' of Sirius's bike so J.K probably put that reference in to remind us of it in which case we probably will see it again either in bk 6 or 7.

Also, as Harry was Sirius's godson and Sirius was the last remainding Black, does that mean that Harry will inhereit all of Sirius's posessions - like no 12 Grimmauld place and perhaps a certain bike........?lol!

Blaise, I also wonder if Harry will inherit the bike. Imagine the Dursleys faces if Harry gets that.

True, could the bike be waiting inside, somewhere, at 12 Grimmauld Place?
Or, could it be wandering through the Forbidden Forrest, like the Weasley's car?
It will be interesting to find what Hagrid did with it afterwards.
It could have been put up, someplace safe, and when Dumbledore knew that Sirius was not a killer, it was given back to him.
There are so many different possibilities, that it's hard for me to guess.

Isn't a flying motorbike against the Misuse of Magic laws? I mean the car was and Hagrid flies it right onto a muggle street!

Perhaps Hagrid and the motorbike were given special allowances considering the situation.

I think it depends if it was tooled up with an Invisibility booster. Also, I doubt the Ministry would be mad at that point since Harry's safety was involved. Also, Dumbledore has been known to make unauthorized port keys, so perhaps he did not tell the Ministry about the motorbike.

Everyone was partying that day. Even the owls got out of control. A little thing like a flying motorbike wouldn't have bothered the MoM.

Good point, but I don't think the enchantment on the bike was something temporary. In POA Hagrid talks about how Sirius used to love the bike, so it sounds as if they had been turning a blind eye to this particular rule for a while and that Sirius had been flying it long before the Potters' death. Of course, it's possible that the charm was put on the bike for Hagrid's journey, but I can't see how a motorbike that was previously a conventional vehicle would appeal to Sirius (someone raised outside the Muggle community.)

Because you KNOW me. Hey... would it be too much to request that the chick in leather be, ohhhhhhhhhh... let's say just a hair under 6' tall, has ice blue eyes, black hair, and a nice New Zealand accent?

Hey... and if she wants to carry a sword on her back and a chakram at her hip, I won't complain. She can even name the cycle Argo.

Kris, I think Mike would like a woman who is closer to his own age.

Like I said... works for me. So, he can have a young hottie, in leather, on the bike. I get my woman, in leather, on the bike. We're all happy.

I wouldn't dream of excluding such a large portion of the female population from my sexual pursuits. Although I suppose I should have SOME limits...<Mike shakes his head and quickly dismisses the ridiculous notion>
