[News BBC] It appears the possible names for the 6th and 7th book have been released. A company called Seabottom Productions registered the titles on 24 July. Real names or a diversion to distract us for the moment? You decide.

[News BBC] JK Rowling has given a tiny hint of what's to come in the sixth Harry Potter book.
The top author was at the Royal Albert Hall to give a rare reading from Order of the Phoenix to 4,000 young fans.
She told Newsround's Lizo Mzimba that she was still writing the sixth instalment.

No title clue

"There's a teeny hint of what's coming in book six from the reading I'm doing today," she said.

But JK refused to tell us what the title of the book is.

'Fever pitch'

Thousands of excited children from all over the country were packed in the Albert Hall in London to see their heroine in person.

They had to get their schools to enter a public ballot, and the lucky schools were chosen at random.

"The excitement has reached fever pitch," a BBC reporter told us. "It's absolutely crazy. Every time a TV camera sweeps past, the kids go mad, shouting and screaming."

The Albert Hall was specially decorated for the event, and the staff were dressed in Hogwarts' robes.

The Order of the Phoenix was released on Saturday 21 June and has already become the fastest-selling book in history.

J.K. Rowling Says - J.K. Rowling says that not even her friends and family know what the sixth book will be called.
In a recent Interview on the BBC, Rowling has said that said that someone important dies and someone switches houses. Rowling has also indicated that Harry might date in the 6th book, possibly someone new to Hogwarts. submitted by Ben C.

JKR said in the interivew on the DVD for Chamber that there was something small in Chamber that was going to be very big in book six.

A new subject is introduced in this book that has to do with apparating, disapparating, and flying!
the UHPFC informs us: "I have a friend at Scholastic and the 6th book summarization says that when Hermione is injured in the hospital wing, Ron and Harry go one-on-one with Voldemort."

A gossip website said the publishers had been told to be 'ready to print no later than 8 September 2004'.

But a spokesperson for JK Rowling's agency, told Newsround Online: "There is absolutely no truth in this unfounded rumour.

"JK Rowling is still happily writing the next book in the Potter series."

They added there was no fixed publication date.

A spokesperson for JK's UK publishers, Bloomsbury, added "We will announce publication of the sixth Harry Potter book as soon as we have received the final manuscript."

JK Rowling said earlier this year in a webchat for World Book Day that she was "loving writing it".

She wouldn't reveal the title. But she did say that the "wizarding world is really at war again" and that "the Muggles are noticing more and more odd happenings".

Rumours

With a series as popular as Harry Potter, there are always likely to be rumours about the next book. But JK Rowling is the only person who knows the title and when it will be finished.

Although it is understood that JK is only in the early stages of writing.

So the only news that should be believed is when a release date is announced by her publishers, as they have for the first five books.

And news about the book's title should only be believed if it comes directly from her publishing company, or from an interview with JK Rowling herself. This was how she revealed that the title of Book V would be The Order of the Phoenix.

I have heard and read about a rumor that says harry will die in the 6th book. That Hermione and ron some how bring him back form the dead and thats all the info i got. But this is not true!

What a rumor. Well, the way things have stood throughout the HP books, the dead cannot come back. So, I don't see that happening.

I wouldn't be surprised by anything though.

Well maybe Harry will die like the Dark Lord did.And he will be brought back by Hermione and Ron.They might use the bones of on of the Dursley's,Some bloo from an enemy(Draco) and of course som of their blood.
But I this theory has some weaknesses.The ritual is considered dark magic and probably JKR wouldn't want to repeat herself.

I don't think that is likely. But like I said before, nothing would surprise me.

I can't see JKR doing that twice though, Nion. If something happens to him, it needs to be original.

I heard that Harry will get in a huge fight with Ron over HERMIONE!!!! I think that Hermione is supposed to like both Harry and Ron but she kisses Harry!!

There are rumors abounding... and this is just another in the pile.

The rumors are fun to read because I guess ANYTHING is possible. I don't believe any of them though. I only believe it if it comes straight from Rowling, and even then, I'm cautious.

Right... JKR doesn't put out 'rumors' When she releases info, it's true.
While it might not be complete, you know that she isn't misleading.

Ah, what the heck:

Rumour has it that Harry will marry Hermione in the last book and that Ron will be his best man. Another rumour has it that Hermione will marry Ron and Harry will be the best man. Furthermore, the grapevine tells me that Ron and Harry will marry and Hermione will be the best man (following her sex change). All three are possible I think. The third one is a colourful thought, don't you think?

Well, I think that in the end, Harry MIGHT die; either him, Voldemort, or Neville. Who knows? Maybe Voldemort will change his mind and choose Neville as a new enemy, and Harry won't have to bother with Voldemort anymore.

i dunno but i really want to hear more about the sixth book

i dunno if voldemort will go after nevile i mean it could always be a possibility but i don't think that voldemort would have spent all that planning and trying to kill harry and all the crazy things and all the trouble he has gone through just to switch his mind out of the blue and say i am just gunna go after nevile he even took blood from harry and broke the seal between them soo i don't think so but you never really know what jk will come up with next

i dont think voldemort would go after neville cause he never heard the rest of the prophocy so i dont think he will he only heard the first couple of lines but unless he heard the rest of the prophocy himself i dont think he will

There is no release date yet. The book is still being written. JKR is expecting a third child next year, and she did say that it would be completed before the baby is born.

ya i kno i don't think voldemort will go after him !

it was just a thought. and who says that Dumbledore can't be wrong? He's a great character, not a perfect human though. Also, Voldemort can change his mind, you know. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

people on mugglenet are saying that JKR was asked if Hagrid was the Half blood prince and she said no.
