| Posted by: Heatherhobbit | | I think Kathy Bates would be a good Umbridge, but she's not British. | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: fuscia | | Oh she would do a great job. Too bad they only hire Brittish actors. I am not familiar with many of them. | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: gaboman | | I'm sure they've got plenty of ugly, fat women though they'll find someone

How 'bout that lady that played the headmaster in the movie "Matilda"? Anyone remember that movie? Wasn't she British or am I imagining things? | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: Blaise | | the one who plays trunchball(?) , isn't she the actress who played aunt Marge though? lol! too bad she would be quite good, she has got the whole battle axe thing going on hehe.
Ever since I first read ootp I've been convinced that Mel Smith IS Mundungus Fletcher!I really hope they cast him in that role he would be awesome!
I was wondering, do you think they'll computer generate the centaurs like they did in the first film? | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: ActressAlyssa | | Yes, it's true... It is a shame she took that part instead. She only lasted one scene!
I know another woman who would be great for the part...
...My boss!

| Posted by: agent mike | | Pam Ferris was great as Trunchball but it's a very different character to Umbridge. Umbridge is not physically intimidating, she is threatening in a much more subtle way. Can you really see The Trunch in a pink cardigan? | | Reply To this Message
|
| Posted by: Lawless | | Okay, you've got a good point there, Mike. She is large, and very intimidating.
I picture Umbridge as this fat, squatty person, with toad like features to her face. | | Reply To this Message

Daniel may not even play Harry Potter in the Order of the Pheonix. | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: fuscia | | His career will bomb if he does not do all the HP movies. People want and expect him to see this through because he is now Harry to millions of people. | | Reply To this Message
|
| Posted by: Heatherhobbit | | Exactly! He must complete all the films and give the character closure before he moves on. | | Reply To this Message
|
| Posted by: ActressAlyssa | | It's not that he doesn't want to, it's just people are saying he looks too old for the role. These films take near a year each to make and in the Prisoner of Azkaban he is 14 when he's playing a 13 year old boy. Directors fear that he will be too old when it's time to make the fifth film. Dan is upset that he may not keep the role because he is known as Harry Potter, but he has no choice in the matter. It's out of his hands.
I doubt that his career will fall because as we all know he is a gifted actor. I know of one movie he plans to be in that will hit it big. Not as big as the Harry Potter films of course, but I don't think anything could pass them up.
Dan doesn't know for sure if he can play the part of Harry for the Order of the Phoenix, but nothing has been decided just yet. In fact at the moment it's only a worry. They've just began filming the fourth film and this wont be coming out for some time and it will be rather long.... They almost had to make it into two films, but they knew the Harry Potter fans would commit a mass suicide or something. | | Reply To this Message
|
| Posted by: gaboman | | no matter how old he gets, he'll be able to play a 16 year old and up, they've got 30 years olds doing that now-days... he'll be fine. The directors will be much more reluctant to bring in new blood than to make him seem a few years younger than he really is. Sure, he's growing, but at age 20, 22 or whatever, most people can still pass as 17 with the right make up. It'd be a sinch.
I wouldn't say he's a gifted actor though but he makes do
PS. No mass suicides. Harry Potter fans are level headed and always cool and collect. | | Reply To this Message

I feel they all will at the end. There's never been a film series with this amount of continuity, and I think they realize what they're creating. They'll hold out for more money sometimes, perhaps, and they deserve it for giving up their childhood and all, but in the end, they'll think: what's a couple of more movies? That's what I'm hoping at least.

| Posted by: gaboman | | There'll be another one after the one after the one which is coming next, even. Harry is supposed to be 18 by that point... I had facial hair at 18, but then, I was a real man | | Reply To this Message
|
| Posted by: HECK! | | Are they really going to do 7 of these? I figured the whole thing would sputter out until it was direct-to-video for the last few.
Eh, I didn't have a stache at 18, so I guess they can slide.
That reminds me of that Lynday Lohan sketh on SNL where she played the red head chick, she came back to school all chesty. Comedy.

| Posted by: gaboman | | Don't get SNL here
Well, I had a goatee at 18. Now I think my total body weight is between 60-70% facial hair... give or take 60 or 70%...
There'll be 7 of them, yes. The 6th book is almost out, and I think the movies will run quite popular until the end, to be honest. That may not be until around 2008 or 2009 though... | | Reply To this Message

First and foremost being the part of Bellatrix. Owing to her pregnancy, Helen McCrory, who was scheduled to portray Bellatrix, has had to bow out. Apparently the shooting of the M.O.M. scenes will not be until very late in the filming of OOTP, by which time, McCrory would be very heavily pregnant.
Instead, the part is being filled by the inestimable Helena Bonham-Carter (Wallace & Gromit, The Corpse Bride, Fight Club, the Wings of the Dove). In our opinion she is ideal. Bonham-Carter is one of the best British actresses around and, with a bit of trickery from the make-up department, could ealily and convincingly portray the once beautiful and very definitely un-hinged Bellatrix. We are only surprised that WB did not consider her before!
Prof. Wilhelmina Grubby-Plank is to be played by Apple Brook (no, it really is her name), which means that Hagrid’s envoy to the giants trip has not been cut.
More young Marauders have also been cast. Young Sirius will be played by James Walters, Young Lupin by James Utechin and Young Snape (watch out for grey-ing underpants!) by Alec Hopkins.
Bane the centaur is to be played/voiced by Jason Piper. |
I found this on the web today. Hmmm I think HBC is a bit too pretty to be Bellatrix.

| Posted by: gaboman | | I loved her in Big Fish (though I love everything about that movie) and her voice was fantastic in Corpse Bride. Bone tingling.
I think she could do it... Bellatrix isn't supposed to be repulsive, right? | | Reply To this Message
|
| Posted by: fuscia | | No she is supposed to look like she was once beautiful. I just think of HBC as more cute than scary is all. | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: the_beezneez | | I thought Kathy Burke would have made a great Umbridge. She played Perry in 'Kevin and Perry go large', also Waynetta Slob in the Harry Enfield TV series too and was so funny. I could imagine her simpering and hem hem-ing brilliantly.
Imelda Staunton will be excellent as Umbridge. Its such an important part to play and I can already feel myself hating her
I'm looking forward to watching the very pretty Evanna Lynch play Luna Lovegood. I've never seen her act before but I hope she does justice to one of my fave characters. | | Reply To this Message
|
| Posted by: the_beezneez | | It looks like 'Moody's original OOTP picture' will be in the film too because Jim McManus is to play Aberforth Dumbledore! Well at least thats the only part I remember Aberforth being mentioned in OOTP. I wonder if this is significant to the final book because I'm certain more important scenes will have to be cut from the film!!!! | | Reply To this Message
