I know its aaggggeessss away, but I was just wondering if anyone had had any ideas on who could play Umbridge?

I think Kathy Bates would be a good Umbridge, but she's not British.

Oh she would do a great job. Too bad they only hire Brittish actors. I am not familiar with many of them.

How 'bout that lady that played the headmaster in the movie "Matilda"? Anyone remember that movie? Wasn't she British or am I imagining things?

Ever since I first read ootp I've been convinced that Mel Smith IS Mundungus Fletcher!I really hope they cast him in that role he would be awesome!

Pam Ferris was great as Trunchball but it's a very different character to Umbridge. Umbridge is not physically intimidating, she is threatening in a much more subtle way. Can you really see The Trunch in a pink cardigan?

I picture Umbridge as this fat, squatty person, with toad like features to her face.

Daniel may not even play Harry Potter in the Order of the Pheonix.

His career will bomb if he does not do all the HP movies. People want and expect him to see this through because he is now Harry to millions of people.

Exactly! He must complete all the films and give the character closure before he moves on.

It's not that he doesn't want to, it's just people are saying he looks too old for the role. These films take near a year each to make and in the Prisoner of Azkaban he is 14 when he's playing a 13 year old boy. Directors fear that he will be too old when it's time to make the fifth film. Dan is upset that he may not keep the role because he is known as Harry Potter, but he has no choice in the matter. It's out of his hands.

I doubt that his career will fall because as we all know he is a gifted actor. I know of one movie he plans to be in that will hit it big. Not as big as the Harry Potter films of course, but I don't think anything could pass them up.

Dan doesn't know for sure if he can play the part of Harry for the Order of the Phoenix, but nothing has been decided just yet. In fact at the moment it's only a worry. They've just began filming the fourth film and this wont be coming out for some time and it will be rather long.... They almost had to make it into two films, but they knew the Harry Potter fans would commit a mass suicide or something.

no matter how old he gets, he'll be able to play a 16 year old and up, they've got 30 years olds doing that now-days... he'll be fine. The directors will be much more reluctant to bring in new blood than to make him seem a few years younger than he really is. Sure, he's growing, but at age 20, 22 or whatever, most people can still pass as 17 with the right make up. It'd be a sinch.

I was watching monsters inc the other day and i realised where I created my image of umbridge from - Roz the secretary monster who turns out to be the boss of the cda! hehe!

Although obviously not with her voice! Umbridge has to have thta sickly sweet, simpering voice

My Geography teacher from last year is how I imagine Umbridge. She has the personality and the looks. And she hates me.

I have heard that Dan, Emma and Rupert aren't going to be in the 5th film. I thought it was sort of accepted that they weren't going to do them all.

I had heard that as well, but this source is reliable. They are back!

Emma has stated recently that she can't see herself being replaced. I interpret that to mean she plans to do all 3 remaining movies.

Well, I had a goatee at 18. Now I think my total body weight is between 60-70% facial hair... give or take 60 or 70%...

There'll be 7 of them, yes. The 6th book is almost out, and I think the movies will run quite popular until the end, to be honest. That may not be until around 2008 or 2009 though...

The movies will be huge. They get darker with each film.

I loved her in Big Fish (though I love everything about that movie) and her voice was fantastic in Corpse Bride. Bone tingling.

I thought Kathy Burke would have made a great Umbridge. She played Perry in 'Kevin and Perry go large', also Waynetta Slob in the Harry Enfield TV series too and was so funny. I could imagine her simpering and hem hem-ing brilliantly.

Imelda Staunton will be excellent as Umbridge. Its such an important part to play and I can already feel myself hating her

I'm looking forward to watching the very pretty Evanna Lynch play Luna Lovegood. I've never seen her act before but I hope she does justice to one of my fave characters.

It looks like 'Moody's original OOTP picture' will be in the film too because Jim McManus is to play Aberforth Dumbledore! Well at least thats the only part I remember Aberforth being mentioned in OOTP. I wonder if this is significant to the final book because I'm certain more important scenes will have to be cut from the film!!!!
