An explosion in a Palestinian high school in the northern West Bank has left at least 29 teenagers injured, some seriously, Palestinian sources have said.
A Jewish militant group calling itself Revenge of the Infants allegedly claimed to have been behind the attack, but police have cast doubt on their statement.
Reports suggest that an Israeli-made grenade was found near the gates of the school and went off when students touched it.
The incident, in the West Bank village of Jabaa, near Jenin, comes as at least one man was shot dead following a raid by the Israeli army into the town of Beit Hanoun in the northern Gaza Strip.
Jenin governor Haider Irshaid blamed the school blast on Israel, saying the Israeli army had placed a bomb at the school gates.
Palestinian police who checked the scene found shrapnel and said the device was Israeli-made, with Hebrew letters on it, Mr Irshaid said.
But an Israeli army spokesman said the military rarely conducts operations in the area and Israeli army sources said there had been no units in the area at the time of the incident.
The French news agency AFP quoted an anonymous security official as doubting the Jewish militant group's claim of responsibility.

I want to know why the conflict between Israel & Palestine has not been dealt with in an effective way. Something HAS to be done these people can't keep living like this. I really wish I could understand why they can't just agree to disagree and have peace. I know I don't know anything much of the situation but the only thing they ever talk about is "the conflict" and "terrorist attacks". Would anyone care to help me understand the situation?
Lets not jump to conclusions as to who is responsible for this. For all we know there could've been a Hamas militant producing a bomb in the school and it went off prematurely. This has happened before many many times.
And if an Israeli militant group did commit this, are you going to classify all Israelis as terrorists?

The attacks cause hatred, and hatred causes the attacks. It's a vicious cycle which kills innocent civilians, as well as any sence of safety for those who live there. If someone can think of a solution for this, they're a wiser man than I.

why don't we give the palestinians the state of arizona? lots of desert, some water, sun- what more do they want?
i've heard about the incident too, but you really can't say for sure it was an israeli opertaion. nevertheless, it sure would look good to the palastinian part. I don't believe in AN EYE FOR AN EYE, hence i condemd this (presuming it really is a jewish act), but when it comes to military opertaions, I truly believe that almost everyhing is legit. thank you. good day
I've heard a different statement, that this Israeli group couldn't possibly get into this school and plant a bomb. Anyway, whoever did it, I condemn this tragic event as it killed innocent civilians.
As for Israeli terrorist groups, if they exist, Israeli interior intelligence along with Israeli Police hunt them down. People who are suspected in attacks against Palestinian civilians get arrested and investigated, those who are proven guilty are being put behind bars just like any other criminal/terrorist.

The Israeli state is a TERRORIST STATE, what other states can blow up a building, killing all the residents, men, women and children to assassinate a "suspected" extremist, with US support. What other countries BULLDOZE THE HOMES OF THE FAMILIES of criminals? Will Scott Peterson's parent's home be BULLDOZED if he's found guilty of killing Lacy? Answer this, what DO WE GET out of putting ourselves on the line, CHOOSING to become targets to support Israel? What do they give us in return, OUR GOOD FRIENDS other than the GRIEF that comes with being alligned with them? I'm not even saying for the US to oppose them, just be NUETRAL! I can see many more advantages with being alligned with the Arabs...OIL for one. Israel is like that bad friend that your mother tells you to avoid, "hanging around" with them brings no benefit, it only gets us in trouble that we don't need...let them fend for themselves.
