| Posted by: Dreamzwalker | | personally - the N-DS looks better. sure, they say the PSP will be able to play DVDs....but propriatary dvds. you have to purchase special dvds to watch them - so that means your STUCK with whatever they decide to release.
On top of that - the PSP is supposed to run 300 dollars in price and the DS runs 100-150 dollars. DS also has metroid prime and the graphics are damn good on the videos that i've seen. It will also comes with wireless networking which the psp does not support.
I've seen videos of both machines and both appear to be good and interesting - but the price of the PSP is just retarded. 300 for a hand held is just too much. 200 dollars more and you could have a bloody laptop and play much better games and watch dvds, download anime, naruto, ghost in the shell etc. | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: Larke2000 | | i have no evidence to back up this claim, but i'd bet the psp is gonna be a energy hog.
i'm sure the psp will have their niche (particularly with anti-nintendo-ites) just like the n-gage. but i'm sticking with nintendo on the handheld market. the ds is gonna probably be too big for my portable taste (i'll keep my gameboy advance sp thank-you-very-much), so the psp is like an elephant. classic 2d style games are wasted on the modern console powerhouses, so i'm perfectly content with my 2d handheld. i'm not ready to go through the fledgling 3d handheld attempts just yet. maybe the next generation of products, but i'm sitting this one out. (of course when i see see the new mario game on the ds in action instead of just screenshots, i'm sure i'll change my tune and get a ds. but for now that's my story and i'm stickin' to it.) | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: Dreamzwalker | | i read on a sony supported site that the batter lasted about 1.5 hours.
plus, i think i said this before - it is supposed to play dvds but only mini dvds.
in other words - you only get what they decide to put on it.
yippi. sounds lame. i'm going ds all the way. i love my gba...especially at work and Golden sun - my lord, what a game. I like Golden sun and Golden sun II better then Final Fantasy 8- X2
peace
p.s.
don't forget - the little black and yellow gameboy beat out the color of the GameGear by sega.
I liked sega, but they were always ahead of their time and tried to bring stuff out too soon. before the tech caught up to it.. | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: Larke2000 | | oh, man i remember that pea soup colored screen. i'm glad those days are long gone.
yeah, sega and hardware just didn't quite sync up. but at least they haven't lost their touch making good games. | | Reply To this Message
