Pure blood -members of the family are all wizards and witches for many generations.
Half-blood -only one parent is a witch or wizard
Muggle born-a magical child is born to non magical parents
Squib -a non magical child is born to magical parents.
It should be noted that there is a great deal of prejudice among some groups of pure blood wizards toward muggle born wizards. They believe that they are the only ones worthy of studying magic. Salazar Slytherin was the most famous of the wizards to believe this.
It should be noted that the term Blood Traitor is used by pure blood wizards who are angy at other pure blood wizards for associating with non-pure bloods. |
