Scary call to C-SPAN on 06-10-04....

I was watching Washington Journal on C-SPAN this morning at around 7:45AM or so while they were taking calls. A male caller from Pennsylvania called in, complemented the woman host on her outfit and then went on to make his 'points'. First, he stated that the 9/11 terrorist attacks were orchestrated by the Bush dministration. Secondly, he was very worried that during this coming Friday's funeral for the late former President Reagan that the Bush admin. may conduct another major strike against their own nation to enable them to delcare a state of martial law, making Bush a real dictator, which was the obviously disturbed caller's third point. He also added that President Bush is already actually a dictator under certain provisions of the Patriot Act.

Asinine.

Just thought I'd share this with you all. Anyone else hear the call?

The Patriot Act by its very nature legalizes martial law. Do you even know what martial law is? I'll help you out...the suspension of the Constitution and Bill of Rights in the land...that's it. No more due process, speedy or public trial.
No free speech, freedom of religion, the right to bear arms...all those things...out the window. Don't forget...search and seizure laws, bye bye.
AND the president will have full power... congress has no say...and the courts...oh well, they are already in bed with the president anyway.
Laws are being usurped by the Supreme Court every day...they just cite foreign laws or say the law is unconstitutional.

I don't think Dog is opposing free speech, just bemoaning, as people often do, the quality of certain people who exercise it.

Look, when I listen to talk radio, I don't want to hear whiners talk about how Bush is Hitler yada yada.
