Have you read any of the Artemis Fowl books? If so, what did you think?

You already know I've read them, but come on, anyone else want to comment? There's loads we could discuss.

I've read the first Artemis Fowl book, but i didn't like it. there was some cool stuff like the whole concept of fairies' world (or is it elves' world??--didn't read the book in english) but i didn't like the way that the magical world clashed with the high-tech world of Artemis. Oh, yeah, and Artemis is a way too complicated character for a book like this one.

I'm curious what this book is about Pip, how many are there? Are they still being written?

I know I'm not Pip, but I'll answer anyway.

Artemis Fowl is a genius. He is twelve in the first book, and he captures a fairy because he wants her gold. The fairy is Captain Holly Short, of LEPrecon. The fairies live under the earth, and the book is split between them and Artemis. He is arrogant and selfish, but we like him anyway. In the next two he gets nicer, and the author is writing another one.

That was a really rubbish description of the story. Someone else explain to Misty.

It's basically about a teenage genius boy who wants fairy gold from some really high tech faries that live underground.


That was even worse!

I read the first book awhile back now... I remember thinking the little boy was so mean and hadn't decided if I liked it enough to keep reading the series.. I hear the second book it gets better though...

Yeah, I din't like Artemis much in the first book, but I don't think we were meant to. In the second and third he gets nicer, you should read the rest if you quite liked the first, they get even better
