Hi, I think a better topic would be "is he suitable?" but, well, let's see.

I haven't seen the movie yet, and I know hardly anything about him, but I do want to say that from the looks of him, he can certainly play Lupin suitably. As for that picture above ^ sure, that makes him look a bit seedy... but

Lupin is very soft and good he is looking very hard by face

I don't think he is handsome enough to be Lupin.

I always thought of lupin as the school teacher type, kind've smart. He looks like that too me. I think Sirius was supposed to be the handsome one, but 10 or so years in Azkaban would make anyone looking crummy.

Once again:

JKR said that Sirius was the best looking of the lot.

I pictured Lupin looking WAY different.... and I have to say that Gary Oldman for Sirius is a great pic, for an actor, but not looks. I pictured a really gorgeous man. Oh well...

I pictured better looking for both characters.

Yes... that's what I mean. The books give you a certain image of these characters. Most have been dead on. I don't know that anyone hasn't been what I've expected. Now, it's going to be hard. But, maybe after seeing the movie, we will both have a change of heart.

Well, Gary Oldman does have the look like a man who was handsome in his way, but a hard life has made him look terribly. That was always my image of Sirius. I never thought he'd be handsome, I thought he'd be a God father

Sorry Grant, but I think Sirius was supposed to be hot, kind of like Aragorn in LOTR but with very dark hair.

David did a brilliant job, he was definitely the best new actor to join the cast. Gary Oldman was good but didn't get enough screen time.

There was a special on A&E last night. The first hour was an interview with JKR, and her talking about everything HP and some personal stuff. Then, the second hour was a look at the actors, the HP movies, etc... When they interviewed the guy who's playing Lupin, I was amazed at how good looking he is. They are really making him "dull" in this movie... geeky almost.

Kris, he is supposed to look tired and old beyond his years because he is a werewolf.

Oh, I know... but I think that the way he wears his hair is just so... bleck!

Lupin is poor. You can't expect him to be stylish.

I know... you're right.

I think werewolves get tired of combing their hair all the time anyway.....

... I thought of both Lupin and Sirius to be kinda dirty and messy looking, but to be somewhat good looking men under all the hair... lol

I really liked how Lupin was played. He was soft spoken, and you could see that Harry held a special place in his heart.

I agree, Sherry.... Lupin was played exceptionally well. He was JUST like I pictured in the book.

His transformation into a werewolf was strange... but pulled off quite nicely.

Yes, he did fit my dream of what Lupin would be like. That really made the movie for me. I hope he comes back to play Lupin in the fifth movie.

Odd note, he was taller than Sirius.

I thought that the actor who played Lupin was great. He didn't look the way I imagnied Lupin, though. He looked like a weird cross between Principal Rooney from the '80s movie "Ferris Beuller's Day Off" and the Duke from "Moulin Rouge". I thought Lupin would have shaggy brown hair and big, sad, brown eyes. I also thought that - like Sirius - Lupin would be hot underneath his messy, haggard exterior. But David Thewlis' acting was terrific.

YEAH! I thought he kinda looked like the Duke in Moulin Rouge too! Not quite as weird though.

I don't know, I thought David played a pretty sexy lupin. I think its the personallity I fell in love with, though. The personality is just like the books! Its really good. And the bridge scene with him is AMAZINGLY emotional. He's not that bad looking either. JK never really explained much about how he looks(light brown hair, flecked with gray, tired, ill) so I never had a very clear image of him in my head. Thats why I have no problem on how he looked. . . . I LOVE LUPIN
