What would you like to see changed? |

What is the one thing you would like to see changed for next seasons American Idol? Why? | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: Larke2000 | | first and foremost there should be real talent across the board. not just 4 really good singers mixed in with 8 other so-so singers. let it be a real competition.
and i agree with sherry about the judges. | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: mystic | | First...Id like to see the judges NOT say anything at all until the next night...after the voting is over....unless they are just going to comment on the singing of the song....AND ONLY the singing!!!
I dont want to hear they are the best, worst, or how well or badly they are dressed. I want America to vote on who they think without thoughts from the judges until the night they vote someone off.
I would also like to see the voting process changed somehow and allow only a certain amount of phone calls per household.
I think they should ban Randy from saying "Yeah dawg."
I also agree with larke about the singing abilities....allow only good singers and leave the so-so singers out of it...its pretty obvious they did that for a reason.
I also think they should give them some feedback on how to make the next time better rather than just say...it was horrible.
I also think maybe adding another judge...perhaps another woman who has more to say to the contestants rather than "you look pretty tonight."
OMG....its like groundhog day every Tuesday night listening to these judges....do they know how to say anything else? The same crap comes out of their mouth every single week....
Maybe they should have Randy say "how pretty everyone is," Paula say "horrible," and Simon say "yeah dawg."
If nothing else...its different. | | Reply To this Message

What i would like changed... the WILDCARD show... I mean they didn't let Lisa Leuschner sing... and WHY not?! She was better than half the people in the top 12. I dont think the judges should decide if they get to sing or not for the wildcard show. I mean they shouldn't get to choose who doenst get to sing... after getting their hopes up! It boggles my mind they didnt let Lisa sing again! She was awesome. I dont have a suggestion for how to change it, but if anyone has one, i wanna hear it! | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: AZIdolfan | | I couldn't agree more with what "Mystic" and "Fuscia" said. I have been trumpeting most of those thoughts myself over the past couple of weeks (probably to the point of annoyance!)
I'm not real sure that allowing the judges to shoot off their mouths after the voting is done is a perfect solution, though, because their biased comments would still have a carryover effect the following week. I don't think they should announce their favorites until after the final week's voting has been completed.
I sincerely hope that there is an outcry about the "judges'" antics. It positively stinks! Even Paula went over the top in the closing weeks of the competition. Randy has a strong bias and Simon is a complete, inconsiderate, cruel jerk. I wonder how much he enjoys getting repaid in kind with all the hate mail he surely must be receiving these days.
There's one thing I would like to see added, although I know they won't do it. I'd like to see something similar to the wild card (where the "judges" bring back some eliminated contestants), except that the fans vote for a contestant to bring back to rejoin the final four or five. That way, mistakes can still be rectified. This year, for example, maybe Amy Adams might have been voted back in. In my mind, the two finalists should have been Amy and Diana.
Another thing - the "judges" should not be allowed to select songs for the finalists to sing. The contestants should select all of their own songs, subject to whatever theme is being presented. That way, the "judges" will not be able to purposefully prop someone up or knock someone down.
You know, the producers might think that no changes are necessary because of the tremendous ratings success of the show, but I truly believe that they could implement all of these improvements and still enjoy the same (or better) success.

AZIdolfan... not a bad idea.. just seems a bit complicated. Maybe like the people who got the 3rd highest ratings get to go on the wildcard show. Like for each group of 8 there were 3 that they said, then they called one safe, then announced another safe. That person who was third I think should get to go to the wildcard show! That way, they are people that America liked a lot, and the judges DONT get to say who doesnt get to sing for the wildcard show... after INVITING them back to it! | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: varra | | Yeah, I agree with all of you. But some of the contestants really want hear the judges' critiques so that they know what they should improve etc... So perhaps they can let the judges do that off the air or ya, the judges should limit themselves to constructive criticism and not voice out their favourites or proclaiming who SHOULD be the winner. In general, judges are supposed to judge and pick the winner and all that but they are supposed to keep their choice confidential till the results are announced!
Anyway... I'm not sure if all you guys know this but Ryan Seacrest had auditioned to be a judge on AI but he got roped in to be the host instead. Wonder how it would be if he had been one of the judges? | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: hot4johnstevens | | I think the age should be moved up. I think that at 16, your not fully grown or ready to take what Simon has to say...now yes...this season we had Diana and John...who were two people who could take what simon said well but do we remember Jasmine breaking down onstage, Camile crying...I just think that at 16 and 17 your not ready for what the judges have to say about you. And like I said before it is unfair, to put a 16 year-old and 25 year-old head to head (the oldest and youngest from this season)...I mean last year it was fair because both Clay and Ruben were in their mid-20s and I don't know this just maybe me thinking. I'm with simon on saying "let's move up the age and let the kids be kids alittle longer." Which is also true because when Diana comes home...she will not be able to go back to school and do her senior year....a year every kid should have....more of when we have all heard she was a good student, you know you kinda feel bad for her....because now she is going to have to be home-schooled for the last year. I agree with Simon...a kid should have a life and the age should be moved up.....
these are my thoughts and knowing everyone here you are going to let me know how you feel and I'm open to it.... | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: oneofpeace | | Well why don’t we just get rid of the judges all together? Or why don’t we just slap a muzzle on them and watch them sit there in silence. I mean I’ve never seen such a display of poor sportsmanship as I’ve seen concerning AI by many of you here.
Constantly you all continue to blame the judges for what they are paid to do, give their critique of the performances. The problem lies not with the judges but the voting system. It needs to be limited to allow a truer reflection of actual vote tally. I also think their should be an age limit.
Honestly what I see here are changes you all want (in the judging) to favor your choices. It’s like you’re finding reasons to point the blame for your selections not being there and comes off as being “spoiled bratty” in appearance.
Time and time again the judges have made their comments some good and bad and America has voted with them and against them (judges) and yet many of you continue to blame the judging.
It’s a matter of taste and opinion not judge’s comments on the performances. You are giving way too much weight to their influence. I’ve even heard some ridiculous assertions of conspiracies that the judges planned Fantasia’s win from her first audition.
I didn’t agree with many of the votes this season and I don’t blame judging for it, I blame the voting system. However that doesn’t mean the one who wins isn’t deserving of it. I just mean it wasn’t “your” choice for AI. | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: hot4johnstevens | | I am not saying that it is the judges but I think that there have to be many chances to the show. This year...was just kinda down hill. | Posted by: oneofpeace | | Hot please don't take it as a personal attack and in fact I really weren't addressing you directly. I've seen way to much of the "it's the judges fault" with too many cosigners of it and in reality it's not their fault or at the very least too much weight is given to the idea.
I agree that there has to be changes and many of our favorites got voted off this year much too early, and that includes mine as well. However of the one's that were left in the final 3, I believe the right one won fair and square. It wasn't her (Fantasia's) daughters fault, it wasn't the judges fault nor a conspiracy but I can say without reservation that this was not a stretch by any imagination that Fantasia could have won this competiion.
The biggest most visible problem that need correcting is the voting system. They have to limit the voting. Most everything pales in comparison to this. I also subscribe to the idea of there being an age limit both ways.
Other than that there could be some other changes made too. Change isn't bad and I think it's necessary to progress, however I think judges comments were well within specs most of the time anyway.
As for Simon, I think he is arrogant but I think he plays the role to be such because it really helps ratings and his success, however I do not believe he's dishonest in his crude but many times accurate depictions of competing performances. | | Reply To this Message

I don't know how...but somehow. I am happy for the winner this year...my guys (John STevens and JPL) were out early on and in the end I pulled for Diana because she was the hometown girl but fantasia was good....congrats to all her fans.....

I thought he shouldn't of that what he said about her...I mean she did awesome...but still. | Posted by: oneofpeace | | Hot if you noticed Simon said a few other things about contestants earlier in the competition and the voters didn’t vote along with his summations. The nature of the show is for the judge to tell us whom they believe performs well and why. That is their job.
I simply don’t think many of you give America enough credit. They will most certainly vote for whom they want to win and that’s not always who the best performer is. Simon nailed Camille and Jasmine among others many times and they were constantly voted on the show.
The night Jennifer Hudson was voted of, Simon praised her as the best performer of the night (which I happened to agree with him that night) and she went lullaby the next evening. In fact, you’re a fan of John Stephens and I personally thought he lasted entirely too long given the talent he was surrounded with.
I thought Jasmine was going to win earlier when they were down to the final 12 but somehow she didn’t get any better and I think she got a little worse for wear as the competition continued.
Looking to the judging is not the problem and I thoroughly disagree with it because it’s really baseless in fact when you see how the competition turned out. | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: hot4johnstevens | | I think I was more of....thinking about Diana's feelings. I don't like to see them hurt....That's why I thought what Simon said was wrong....I mean we all knew going into this that Diana was going head to head with one of the best singers on the show....I just thought about the feelings of the singers more....
I don't think the judges are wrong because they are there to tell us all how they feel. I just think that Simon pushes on some and I think that he should of been nicer to Diana...but then again he is Simon Cowell and telling him to be nice would be like telling Ryan to stop smiling.
yes, I'm a fan of John Stevens and will forever be a fan of his...he sings the songs I like to hear...I didn't think he would win and I was alright when he left...JPL was my 2nd favorite but with him I really didn't think would make it far, just because the girls were the stars of the show....but my 3rd favorite was George and believe me I was upset when Jasmine beat him out. That was uncalled for.
Sorry that's how I feel | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: citykat | | i see what you are saying about Simon and i could see how you would be unhappy about him saying that. but it had to be pointed out because that is what will help her in the long run. raising a child hurts, producing a record hurts, staying on the right path hurts and if it isn't hurting you then you aren't doing it right. if he let her get away with that crappy performance knowing she could do much better then i would have been upset. i felt the same way watching her stumble over Don't Cry Out Loud - she wanted to get into that competition she then needed to be able to steel herself to take whatever criticism/help she could get to make herself better. we all knew she was much better than that!!!! | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: floridasiren | | I love all the judges and believe they are a vital part of the show, unfortunately many viewers don't know enough about music and are not qualified to judge talent, and base their decisions on personality or looks. These people need a little guidance from the judges. We witnessed this last year with Reuben and again this year with Fantasia. We almost lost these talented voices to those viewers who voted for the wrong reasons. I know exactly why this happened — as a viewer who knew Reuben and Fantasia were the most talented I often did not call in my vote. I naturally assumed they would easily win their respective competitions. I then realized, as I'm sure others did, that we could not depend on the average viewer to make the right choice, therefore, we started making our calls. Alas, the person most deserving was awarded the title of American Idol — Fantasia.
There were other contestants that I adored for various reasons, but I knew they did not have what it takes (yet) to make it in the music business. It's a hard road and you must start off with at least the talent to survive. Diana, although talented, does not have the passion in her voice that makes a great singer. She will go far, I'm sure, but she's not ready yet. She needs to find "her" voice. La Toya was amazing and in my opinion she should have been in the final two with Fantasia, but she still needs to "feel" the music, I have no doubt she will.
I thought the overall show last night was excellent, there was enough entertainment to make waiting for the final vote bearable. The number with Reuben, Kelly, Fantasia, and Diana was wonderful and I enjoyed seeing the final twelve together again.
Now for my complaint about the show:
Ryan Seacrest
Let's put Seacrest out for good! He's like the lounge lizard of hosts! My mute button is in full play during the show when he is speaking. If there were only a button that could make him disappear altogether! With all the talent in Hollywood it's hard to believe this is the best they could come up with.

| Posted by: fuscia | | Do they need to change the voting? Yes. Do the judges need to stop pushing for a contestant? Yes, however, they should be giving contructive cricitism as to how the contestants can improve. No more of this "yeah dawg it as alight" or "that was attrocioust" with no feedback on how to improve.
Wildcard shows. A terrible thing was done when Lisa Leuschner was not allowed to sing. They showed a snip of her in rehersals singing "through the fire" by Chakka Khan. She would have blown Fantasia and all the others away. Very cruel, they should have let America decide.
As for Ruben being the best, he won, he is talented. Look at the record sales. Clay is the big winner from AI, but not the Idol. | | Reply To this Message

Good post Fuscia...I totally agree.
Im okay with them judging...but I think they should judge the singing...not say someone is the best or worst of the bunch and harp on it every week....say what you thought of the singing...thats the only thing necessary, and it seems to be what they are there to do...everything else isnt needed. Judge the singing ONLY!
And yes, I agree with Garlandlover.....ALL the contestants brought back for the wildcard show should ALL be able to sing! They shouldnt bring someone back and then decide not to let them sing....if thats the case...why bring them on there at all? Makes no sense!

| Posted by: oneofpeace | | I just don't think you all understand. The judges are there to judge not to coach or train the singers. They are explicitly askes what their opinion of the performance is and then Seaquest reads it before he announces who gets bounce.
It is the way the show is designed. The only ones complaining are those that don't have their original favorites in the top 3. The love of music is a matter of taste. You're opinions are jus that opinions just as the judges hold theirs and are asked for them. They are not there to give advice and tips on how to perform. If they so choose, ok fine but that's not their purpose.
It really looks very bad in these forums as what appears before my eyes when I read are a bunch of sore losers. Sorry that's the way I see it. | | Reply To this Message

To answer your question (which I believe, by now, has been answered and explained 100 times), YES, the judges are supposed to say what they think, but ONLY on evaluating performances, NOT dictating the winner.
"That was dreadful", though tasteless and hurtful, is okay.
"Pack your bags", "You're going home tonight", "What does the sign say behind you?", "You are too young for this competition", "You owe thanks to (whomever) for putting you through to the next round" (implying that she deserved to be eliminated), "That's an awful dress", etc., etc., ad nauseum, are way, Way, WAY out of line. Sorry, Citikat, and SO ARE YOU!"

Okay, I am one who made a hundred calls and encouraged others to do so too. It sounds like you are implying "dishonesty" and "bigotry" on the part of some of us, possibly me, but I'm not sure on that one. What I am certain about is that you are calling my votes "false." I beg to differ with you! The voting system allows multiple votes and makes no attempts nor pleas for fans to refrain from voting more than once. ALL fans, including yourself, can vote multiple times, if they care enough to.
Under normal circumstances, I would vote only once. In fact, if I was unable to get through after about a half hour of trying, I would normally even stop trying to vote. But, in this situation, I felt compelled to vote as many times as possible. I only wish I could have gotten through about a thousand times to vote for Diana. Why? You talk about dishonesty! What is dishonest is the "judges" scheming and contriving to influence voters, and I feel that they did just that. Conspiracy? I don't go so far as to call it that, but there's absolutely, positively no question in my mind that they had an agenda.
You are obviously so biased that you cannot see that. I hope the tables turn on you next year. If Simon treated your "Idol" the way he treated Diana, John Stevens and Leah Labelle, for example, you'd be screaming "bigotry" There's no racism here, certainly not in this corner! There's only fan favorites. Could there be some "reverse bigotry on your part?"
You don't like our griping about a grossly unfair system? Live with it!

The Randy in me wants to ask you how you thought your post went cause I just wasn't feeling it tonight. You were a little pitchy in places. Just wasn't one of your better performances.
The Paula in me says that you came across very nice. Like Mark Spitz jumping off the high dive, you dove into the post and you nailed it. Good job. You know that you are my biggest fan.
The Simon in me says that your post was alright. I mean, you did make your point, but so what? I could read that post in any number of threads on these message boards. Average at best.
Now don't you agree that the judges comments seem a bit typical? They need to spice things up a bit. I like the idea of bringing in a fourth judge, but who?
AZIdolfan, I hope you know that I was just ragging on you the way the judges would have done | | Reply To this Message

I dont know...I posted that because I think it would be best to have another judge to even things out....Its not that I dont like Paula...and its not that I dont think she was talented at one time...but she and her comments are getting boring. Personally, Id rather see another woman come in who is willing to give more constructive criticism on a persons singing rather than their wardrobe...
Certainly they can find someone who singing talent that has time to participate on this show besides Paula Abdul.
Does anyone have any thoughts on who might be a good choice?

| Posted by: IcePrism | | I have an idea who the fourth judge could be. How about the previous years winner but have her only on there for the 12 weeks to judge the contestants. If you think about it, who would know better what the contestants had to go through and would be able to provide some feedback and some insight on what they need to do.......just a thought to get things going | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: Nattylisa | | My biggest problem with the show is the judges.
The comments from Simon were sooo distasteful that I'm shocked the media hasn't gone after him. The public finds this accepable?
Diana didn't deserve to be attacked so harshly and with such relish by Simon. She is blessed by one of the greatest voices ever heard and on LIVE television. None of this prerecorded lip sincing that Britney, Witney and all the rest do.
For Simon to imply that Diana heard Fantasia's performance and knew she had to do better was ridiculous and had nothing to do with judging. To criticize her dancing when Fantasia does the up and down move across the stage for every song.
We know Simon had an agenda and he continued it on tv in front of the world.
I would have been happier for Fantasia's win if the 3 judges hadn't been making those syrupy, slathering comments about her that she was the American Idol. I feel Diana was treated supremely unfair. | | Reply To this Message

I listed, as examples in an earlier post in this thread some of the remarks Simon made throughout the season that were extremely uncalled for. If I took the time to review my recordings of all the shows, I could probably list a dozen more. This one takes the prize:
"You just gave your acceptance speech." I reiterate, it is totally uncalled for, for "judges" to proclaim winners before the voting is done. I don't see this as much different from Tom Brokaw on Election Day morning saying on NBC News "George Bush (or John Kerry) should be elected president today." It would be appropriate for him to point out the strengths and weaknesses of each candidate, but NOT to attempt to influence people's votes one way or another.
You people who claim this is "sour grapes" are all wet. I have said in previous posts that I would hate it even if they were shoving Diana (or any other contestant) down our throats instead of Fantasia. It is NOT appropriate!
Cruel, unnecessary comments to young performers are also inappropriate. Here's yet another of many that Simon made to Diana, when he said that it sounded ridiculous for her to sing about "climbing mountains" at age 16 (referring to her rendition of "Ain't No Mountain High Enough"). Right! Like Fantasia, at 19, would have been mature enough to qualify.
Once again, Fantasia, congratulations! You are worthy of the title, even though your style and personality are not my personal cup of tea. But, "judges", SHAME ON YOU! Producers, I'm disgusted that you tolerated, maybe even condoned, this kind of stuff. The almighty buck!

| Posted by: Edward Teach | | I thought the judges up until this year were pretty good. This year it like, America needs pushed into who we think they should vote for. I think they can make their criticisms up until they are not longer making the decisions. As in the top 12, they have put them all thru at that point so they think they are pretty good.
But the biggest thing I'd like to see changed is the voting. One phone one vote. Give us the numbers. I've seen several news shows that say that 65 million people voted. Well that is wrong considering that everyone could continue to vote for 4 hours. It was 65 million votes. | | Reply To this Message

Ron, I can go along with that, 100 per cent, but only on the condition that the "judges" refrain from pushing winners on us. Otherwise, it's a necessary tool to try to counteract the prejudice.

| Posted by: mystic | | Im gonna expand on what AZIdolfan said about the age thing...because I too was sick of the age comments...especially about the one he mentioned about Diana and the mountain climbing, etc...(i thought that was uncalled for)
My point is this: If they feel that she or any other contestant is too young, (as we heard them say about John Stevens and Diana, and even jasmine)...then why do they set the age limit so low? If age is such an issue as they made it seem...then change the age limit...if they dont change it...then I certainly dont want to hear it...
And personally...the ability Diana has is much more then some older singers I have heard...she is truly blessed with some great talent..
LeAnn Rhimes' was 14 when she wowed the charts with her first CD....OH NO...I wonder what Simon thought of that? | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: hica19 | | I think the biggest things that needs to be change are who the judges let into the top 32, and the wildcarad format. I mean this year, they cut some really talented singers out early like Michael Keown, and they let in some not so good singers, The Roman Brothers, and Lisa Wilson. And they should have really mixed the groups up better to have good talent in each group. I dont' want another repeat of this year's group 2 and 3. I want to see more of a mixture in each group. And as for the wildcards, I think this year's format is what AI lost the most credibility in. I would say for next year, either bring back only 8 people or let all 12 sing. | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: hot4johnstevens | | I agree that they should have a 4th judge...and I know Clay Aiken wants to do it....but I think that they should have someone who was in the top 12 (or top 10 from season one) the last 3 years...like have...Kelly one week, then Ruben, Clay, Fantasia, Diana and so on and so on...change them week to week...I know Clay has said that he wants to be a judge on season 4....but I agree that they should add a girl, to bounce it out....I think Kelly would be the best to bring back because she has already lived through it all....
I believe they are moving the age up to 18, which I think is right. I think 16 (although Diana and John were strong) is to young to be out there singing and stressing out..... | | Reply To this Message
|
| Posted by: oneofpeace | | The reason why they have producers and artists of the theme songs is to be the 4th judge you guys are speaking of. I don't think they're going to add a 5th.
I think the age comments weren't the far off. There should be an age limit in my opinion as well. However some of you say that Diana's voice is "one of the greatest I've hever heard"? I don't think you've heard too many great artists then. She's very amaturish in her singing and definately needs help. In fact, I think LaToya's voice was the best trained, but that's my opinion. But to say she is one of the greatest voices I've heard would leave me in much doubt about your ability to choose talent.
But then again, it's all about taste right? | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: IcePrism | | But then again, it's all about taste right?
Yep, and that is why some people say that Diana has the "best voice they have ever heard" Isn't it wonderful that people have different tastes? How boring it would be if we all marched in step to the same things.
I agree with you on LaToya, she was my favorite.
I don't care for the celebrity fourth judge and would like to see them get rid of that judge and bring in a permanent one who is there throughout the 12 person competition. | | Reply To this Message

I agree with the fact that people have different tastes...and I personally never said Diana has the greatest voice Id ever heard, and certainly she needs more singing time to be better...but that will come in time...she can only improve on the good voice she has now....and that will come with experience and age. LaToya was very good...but she has had plenty of experience because she sings with a band and she is older....so she does have that edge...but Diana wil have that too, when she is LaToya's age. 7-9 years more experience that LaToya has over Diana is a big difference. Give the girl (Diana) time...she will be great someday.
Anyhow...I completely agree with your assessment of the "guest" judges they have now....I would also like to see a permanant person come in instead. I mean look at who we had this year...Quentin Tarentino....what was the point of that? What did he have to offer these people? This guy doesnt sing...isnt his opinion basically the same as anyone else's? Just because he is a director doesnt make him more knowledgable about the likes and dislikes of people's voices than ours.
I think its time to get rid of the guest judge...if they arent going to critique, then I dont see what good they are doing either....I mean, Gloria Estefan wouldnt and didnt critique at all...she just said they were all good...and if they werent...was that helping them? No. We need someone who is going to be honest, yet someone who is willing to give them tips on how to make it better...
Just my thoughts though.

| Posted by: IcePrism | | I agree with you mystic.....I forgot about Tarentino being a celebrity judge.
I also agree with you on Diana. I liked her too and thought she had a good voice as well and she will get better over time. She composed herself far more than a 16 year old would. I am not even sure a 37 year old like myself could have performed like she did under that amount of pressure. | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: spot176 | | well....this is what i wanna see changed for next season:
- wildcard show, let everybody sing, then let america vote for them, why?...cuz there are some talented people in the wildcard line up...
- get rid of the themes, why?....cuz its american idol...its not disco idol, country idol, big band idol....i mean u cant make somebody that have a certain style singing something that they are not familiar with...can u imagined having frank sinatra singing "la vida loca"?...i mean they should everybody pick their own song, dont matter what genre it is, and let them sing...
- the ford videos....soooo cheesy..get rid of that too...
- the judges, they should not comment on anything else but the way the contestant sings...and think a fresh new line up of judges sounds good...
- seacrest...the <removed >outta here!!!
- instead of showing the ford videos, the should show how the contestant prepared themself, either in the "house" or back stage...
- NO MORE FORD VIDEOS!!!
so yeah thats what i think should be changed for next season | | Reply To this Message
|
| Posted by: Lawless | | I'm really with you on those things, spot. I can't stand the Ford videos. They would be gone if I had the choice. But, I think that they HAVE to do them, because Ford is giving them $$$. Sort of a trade off.
The themes... gone.
Definately allow the AMERICAN PUBLIC to choose the wild cards. No more of the judges picking. This isn't THEIR decision. It's just their opinions and thoughts. That's all it should be. | | Reply To this Message
|
| Posted by: hot4johnstevens | | I don't like the whole judges pick on the WILDCARD show...I thought that once they gave us the top 32 we pick the top 12, that we like....
I think Diana is already a powerhouse and if we give her a few years to train her voice...then way out
The Ford and Old Navy commercials are very dumb.....I think that they should show us more of them backstage but the thing is...both Ford and Old Navy give American Idol Money and that is their deal...so I guess we will forever have to sit through it.... | | Reply To this Message
|
| Posted by: AZIdolfan | | Sad to say, I don't think we will be able to get rid of those commercials (MONEY!) any more than we will be able to get rid of the "judges" selecting the winner (MONEY AGAIN!)

Lilmissy, "you're going home tonight! Pack your bags! There are posters on this board that have more intelligent things to say than you. Your comments were not good enough. Sorry! Now give your concession speech"
Just exaggerating a little bit to make my point. There is "critiquing" performances and there is rude, insensitive, preplanned insulting of contestants for the purpose of attempting to manipulate the outcome for personal gain.
If your gal had that happen to her, you'd have been fuming! Fortunately for you, it was other people they wanted out. That's NOT "criticizm."
Oh, and BTW, I think I saw where you criticized some people's spelling. Look up the spelling of "criticism" in the dictionary.

I am with you on that. When they say "Your going home tonight" or when Simon told Jasmine "that it needed to end tonight..." That is way out of line. I agree that the judges are doing their job but come on....is the money worth making all the signers cry.... | | Reply To this Message
