Just one more post from me. It has been a lot of fun posting with this AI group. I honestly think we have the nicest AI board out there. I hope ALL of you stick around and join other forums. There is so much to do here on INReview.

We all have our own opinions about who we like on the show, but we are still friends.
We hope that you will venture out, throughout Review, and participate in other forums, and hang out until there is another AI show.

oh well. congrats to fantasia. i am not a fan of hers, but she's it and there's nothing i can do but just accept it. i'm not gonna gripe and complain about "coulda woulda shoulda". i'm just glad it's all over.

Did Diana look like she was O.K. with the outcome? Did she get a contract as well?

Fantasia has worked very hard to get to where she is!!! This girl has worked so darn hard to get to where she is today, I am so darn happy for her, she worked hard, she was continuously in good spirits with everyone, she had fun and she was as real and true as Simon.

Her voice is unbelievably wonderful with Gospel Appeal, she has lots of SOUL and she didn't try harder than she needed to outside of her norm. This woman is going to go far in her new music career and I will keep her in my prayers and you guys be sure and do the same.

Fantasia keep up the great work and keep your head up girl.

My congratulations to Fantasia, though I was not a fan of hers. She is a great talent and will go far.

They said that the vote was very close, so it's pretty obvious that the "judges'" favoritism put her over the top. So be it! Diana will have a great career too.

I am hoping that the producers will get the message and, next year, correct the role of the "judges," so that there will be a level playing field for whomever the finalists turn out to be. To continue in the same manner as this year would not constitute a fair, evenhanded contest. Let the fans select the winner, not the "judges."

I really enjoyed the group and individual performances tonight, including Fantasia's. I congratulate her again and wish her well.

I don't feel anything will change with the next AI except for Simon's head - his ego fills the entire theatre!

Afterall, with everyone complaining of him, they listen to him. He told the viewers to vote Fantasia during the AUDITIONS and the public did. Same thing with Ruben.

Next AI, Simon will choose his favorite and that singer will get all the airtime and hype.

I have no hope that improvements will be made and am truly distressed about it. Also, I loved the way Diana sang, "I believe" but she wont be the one to record it.

Oh so it was a predictable outcome...

Well, Diana put up a tough fight all right, when we first saw her, who would have thought that she would be up there in the final 2?

I bet she's disappointed that she couldn't give her best last night, with the technical problem on her last song. And its a pity they couldn't go in the same order, what if Fantasia had ended with "All My Life" instead? There's always that question of "what if?" you know? Ha ha ha... but I don't want to sound like sour grapes here, Congrats to Fantasia (what a unique name!) and her fans!

And congratulations to Diana! May you have a successful career, not only in the US but in other countries as well, like Clay Aiken. Maybe we should call your fans "Dianamites", heh!

Our preshow is co-hosted by Christina Christian and Jennifer Love Hewitt. Why JLH? I have no idea, but she was there introducing Latoya as she sang outside the theatre, knocking 'em dead with "If You Don't Know Me By Now."

Ryan then heads inside to sit with Diana in her dressing room. We hear them chat before going live inside Atlanta's Georgia Dome for a giant crowd hosted by Kim Caldwell. We learn that the Governor of GA, has a bet with the Governor of NC, to swap GA peaches or NC blueberries depending on who wins.

Inside Fantasia's dressing room, we see Toni Braxton has left a gift for Fantasia and Ryan tries some of Fantasia's lip gloss to discover it has good flavor. Clay Aiken in on hand in North Carolina, but we can hardly hear a word he says because the crowd inside the stadium is so loud.

Christina does some forgettable red carpet interviews with some B-list stars before having JLH introduce George, who sings his Soul single "Me And Mrs. Jones."

Ryan is with Randy and Paula and hears them declare there are like proud parents going into tonight. Didn't Paula say that last night?

Jasmine hits the outdoor stage with "Midnight Train To Georgia."

Simon decides he's proud of his chest hair and wants the world to know it. His shirt is open halfway down his chest as Ryan calls him on his pronunciation of Fantasia's name. Then Ryan hops amid the practising choir slaughtering their nice work on "This Little Light Of Mine."

The Finale show finally starts with Tamyra cranking out the National Anthem. She's a bit shaky on it, but it's alright. They follow, of course, with yet another shot of Amy's boyfriend, even though Amy's not even there. Who is the camera person in love with him anyway?

Diana steps out and begin singing a song from this season's Broadway theme- "The Impossible Dream." Fantasia takes the second verse as she walks out on stage, and Kelly joins in a she descends the stairs. Finally, Ruben adds his own touch as the four of the belt out the finish, center stage.

After a couple more live feeds from the hometown stadiums, Kelly is alone on stage atop the grand piano, singing her lush, romantic tour version of "Beautiful Disaster." Hightlight of the show for me. Hands down, and I haven't even seen the rest of the show yet. Kelly proves why she's the original and don't anybody forget it either!

We get the final Ford commercial with Fantasia and Diana singing "Shining Star." The details aren't worth it, but at least it wasn't stupid like many previous ones.

At long last! We get our medley with the Top 12. It's again a salute to the various themes each week. George starts out with Motown and Johnny finally gets his Big Band moment with several lines of "It Don't Mean A Thing" Woot! Woot!!! The medley unfortunately is much, much shorter than last year and over waaaay too soon.

This comes from a true blue John Stevens' fan...who took a walk into Huffnation and in the end pulled for the hometown girl, Diana....

While I have never been a fan of Fantasia's, I think that it was awesome watching her and Diana the moment that the name was read. It was beautiful, and then when Fantasia sang the song, it reminded me of when Kelly sang the year she won. It was a tearful moment.

I have to say..I'm a Diana fan but when Fantasia sung that song, it was like when Kelly won...it...was like..I believed...like the song says....and when Kelly sung...it was like...she had waited forever to get there and we all really wait for something forever...and then with fantasia this year...the words to that song, added to the way she sings it....was like...no matter how many hard times you live through....one day things will turn around...I may not be a fantasia fan but last night...her singing...was what AI is all about...congrats...

I too would like to say thanks for the recap purplefish. I would also like to add that it is very nice to see everyone come together and find something good out of last nights show even if you weren't a Fantastic Fantasia Fan.

I cried with her as she cried last night. That young lady is the real truth. My heart went out to her as she sang 'I believe'. When she kneeled on the ground and struggled to get the words out, she tore through my heart. I am so proud of her. I hope she flies higher than an Eagle, what a beautiful show...I will draw inspiration from it for a long time.

You all know that I am not a Fantasia fan, but I was very moved last night. Seeing her and Diana hugging and the joy as she sang her song. The realization of one young woman's dream. It was very moving.

It was very moving Diana and Fantasia. I mean they both were just like hugging and stuff. No one has done that before. It just showed that they really wanted to be there for each other.

Fantasia moved me...but I'm still not a fan....

Yeah... those two hugged for a long time. You could tell that they were both friends.

I was nice to see that type of sincere happiness for a fellow contestant.

Does anyone else think that Diana looked great last night? I love her hair straight like that.

I hope that Diana is signed by someone...I also think she could be a great singer like Celine....she definitely has the voice for this career! It would be a shame to waste such a talent by someone not signing her.

Diana looked awesome on both nights this week. She learned how to dress and looked beautiful. I have to say that she moved me to tears when she sang "I believe". I hope someone signs this gem.

I just love JPL....he looks so adorable in that picture...this guy needs to be on TV or the movies...he definitely has the personality to do that!

Diana herself looks great... and I love her hair, straight, and with the streaks of color.

But, I hated that dress she wore... that black dress. She's got a little tummy, and they put her in clothes, all the time, that accentuate it. Doesn't look appealing.

I liked the strapless black top over the lace skirt she wore. It hid the tummy very well.

I liked Diana in all black. It does look the best on her. The cuts of the outfits she wore were much better. I liked the black pantsuit Kelly wore. Very flattering.

See what the wrong color can do for someone? Kelly looked great in that black suit...but terrible in that dress.

That is a cute picture of the 3 AIs...but what was up with Kelly's dress...I liked her in the first outfit..although...me, my brother, his girlfriend, and his friend, Shawn, were all fighting over if she was wearing anything under that black top...don't know...was she???

yea we were trying to see it on the big screen and my brother was like....SHE TOPLESS...I was like NO..Kelly can't be....that's a good picture of her and Diana....(Kelly doesn't look that big anymore, well in that outfit she don't...nether does Diana)

I knew once Diana sang "I believe" and fantasia sung "dreams" that fantasia was gonna win.

I think Diana knew she didn't have it after they sung tuesday night and I think she is going to be alright. Kelly came back and hugged and talked to her after the show (they showed that on our news and Diana said that Kelly was really nice to her afterwards)....and Randy was on Ryan on thuesday and he said that he is going to sign Diana..so everything works out

Fantasia was good...and I hope her well in life and I hope she goes far....I love that song "I believe" and on Wednesday...Fantasia (who I'm not a fan of) made me feel..well she moved me...It was like...she had really been through so much and this was her time, her big break....

When AI started in Hollywood this year, my favorite was Amy Adams (the girl with the pink hair) singing my kind of music with a Cyndie louper look. I also like John Stevens because I Love Dean Martin and I just love Stevens's rendition of Miller's "King of the Road". Fantasia flew under my radar at first. When I first heard Fantasia sing "summertime" I got goosebumps (yes and this was before the judges told us how great she did that song)
2 more times I got goosebumps when she sang a different song(I didn't get goosebumps the 2nd time she sang summertime because I believe goosebumps are not controllable and are a result of an unexplainable physiological response that goes deeper than even reasoning can, which is why I consider goosebumps to be my impartial judge inside of me. )
What I am trying to say is that I fell in love not only with Fantasia's great personality, charm and sweetness but when she sings she puts herself so thoroughly into the song that you listen to the words and feel the meaning of the song that the writer wrote into it. Just from that alone I think she deserved to win. The only problem being of course is she probably would have done a lot better not being tied to AI as long as she will be
and being restricted from signing contracts because of her AI contract which applies to the winner.

Anyway sorry for the convoluted way I had explaining my feelings about Fantasia but I knew no other way.

PS I rarely get goosebumps listening to music (at least in the last thirty years) I remember getting them listening to Janice Joplin when she put her heart and soul into a song or Jimi Hendrix when I realized that his "Star Spangled Banner" (with no words) spoke volumes more than the words ever did, and his playing of "Machine Gun" which made you feel like you were in the jungles of Vietnam with him. So goosebumps I guess must mean that I feel the song deep in my core. (hey I just figured it out by writing this, thanks guys.)

AI has only given me goosebumps 3 times...(this is going to sound crazy because there is one from every season almost....)

the 1st~when Kelly Clarkson sung, A Moment Like This. It was one of them times, that you just had to sit and be like...wow she has waited her whole life for this moment and now she has it....and the fact that she couldn't get through the song, just added to the whole goosebumps thing.....

the 2nd~when Clay sung Solitaire last year. That was the moment I thought he had it...he sung it so good that you would of thought that he had gotten hurt by that girl....I wanted to cry for him...I was moved....
(I was moved when Kimberley Locke sung out, Somewhere over the rainbow....but no goosebumps...)

the 3rd~when Fantasia won and sung,"I believe". I have had hard times in my life and that song is just so good. Like when Kelly sung her song 1st season...you kinda feel that Fantasia has had all this hard times and now...it was her time to shine and her time to rock....

these were my 3 goosebumps times.....

lol@you all finally seeing what i was telling you all along..that fantasia didnt have a bad attitude and all the other contestants love her..and they actually knew her ..and none of us including me knew her enough to pass judgement on her about her personality....they all loved her and....they actually knew her personally besides what we saw on tv for 4 minutes a week.... so im glad to see you all finally see what i saw..and that is why she won..she is a great talent and a great person..and she deserved it...and everyone knew it......so as i have been saying the WHOLE season...GO FANTASIAAAAAA!!!!...you did it ...you WON!

I am one of them people who are finding themselves changing the channel during Idol more then ever. Once John Stevens left...I only watched George and Diana and didn't care for the rest of the show. The show wasn't that good.

I think that the judges and the people behind the camera are picking who they want to win and not caring who is up against them. They wanted Fantasia to win and I think they knew when they pinned her against Diana, she was going to win.

I'm a Diana fan. I like her voice and the way she sings and I'm going to buy her CD....but I respect that she is the runner-up...and Fantasia is the winner because American likes her better....I don't think Diana can pull a "Clay Aiken" (as they are calling it here in GA) but I hope she does well because it's sad to see a kid with a broken dream.

Both girls were good and I wish them both luck...and I hope that Idol gets it's stuff together before next year.....
