REALITY TV star Nicole Richie has lifted the lid on her battle with drug addiction.

The socialite from The Simple Life stunned her fans on a US chat show by revealing that she had been hooked on heroin and cocaine.

Nicole, 22, told Oprah Winfrey how she would often violently vomit after snorting heroin.

She has blamed her father, singer Lionel Richie, for her wild teenage years.

In their first interview together, Lionel, 54, admitted he had been an absent father but promised to stand by Nicole as she recovered.

'I was about 13 when I started drinking,' she said. 'I think I started using drugs at about 13 as well smoking pot, cocaine.

'I would just do a lot of drinking and drugs and hang out till six in the morning.

'At the peak of my drug use, met dealers down in Hollywood, in their car or by the side of a building.'

Gee, big surpise. I don't suppose anyone could actually be born with that little functioning brain cells.

But to blame it all on Lionel seems a cop out to me. She would probably just be a cheap crack whore if it wasn't for Lionel, she should be grateful she has him at all.

Its one step at a time...first heroin, then crack, then paris, then life itself...

but...shes really wrench, most people that have met her like David Letterman, Jay Leno, PARIS HILTON all say this....plus, who cares if she slionel richies daughter? steve tyler has a daughter too, ONLT BETTER!

I like Nicole better then Paris....I love the show and so what if Nicole did drugs...at least she is getting help!!!!

good point witrh help...unless she wants help and quit, hope she keeps aon going...unlie John Belushi, Chris Farley, and the others.

I hope she stops because I think she is so funny on the show...and when she was on Regis and Kelly, she seemed so nice and funny....I am just happy that she is getting help....
