I was in a relationship with a young woman for about 2 years... We agreed to separate briefly to get ourselves together financially (her idea). We were apart for about 3 1/2 months but kept the communication open. Now that we are both doing better and ready to restart our relationship I hear from her step-mom that my girlfriend is engaged to be married and the wedding is less than a month away. I spoke with my girlfriend about this and she told me that an old boyfriend proposed to her but she declined his offer. I spoke with the step-mom again and she insisted the wedding was on because of the amount of money she and my girlfriend's father put in to the event. My girlfriend's story doesn't change neither does the other side. She (my girlfriend) insists that her step-family (who she spends little time with) mis-understood when she informed them of the proposal but has done nothing to clear up the mix up. If you were me what would you make of all this??? Do you trust the woman you love or is her family telling you the truth???
