I Hate Fantasia!

American Idol: Season 3 Forum

Fantasia screams when she sings, and has too much preppy enthusiasm. I don't understand why everyone worships her like the cocky goddess she thinks she is! OR should I say he!

I guess i agree. I just like one song she sang.

I think Fantasia is very talented. I hope she does well.

While she isn't my choice... her voice, and style, just aren't appealing to me... it is shocking to find people stating that they HATE someone. Especially someone that you don't even KNOW!

I don't hate her. This is a really bright loving thread..

I don't like her style or voice, but I don't hate her.

What I hate is the WORD hate being used indiscriminately ... and so let me say that I intensely dislike the title subject of this particular thread.

As for Fantasia, the girl can carry a tune and has had some good performances, however her voice and style of delivery don't appeal to me and I am not happy with the "hype" about her or about the questionable vote solicitation.

I must add though that I sure have a heck of a lot of admiration for ALL the young men and women who have the focus to stand up in front of MILLIONS of people and sing and know they may be humiliated by the judges.

I have extra admiration for the ones with resilience who take the heat from the judges, like Diana and Jasmine ( 16 & 17 years old respectively ) and come back again. Further ... Diana and Jasmine both suffered bouts of Tonsillitis during the run of the show.

19 year old Fantasia hasn't been ill, she hasn't had to spring back after being dissed, and she hasn't even taken any real heat from the judges.

What do you think now friend? Fantasia was by far the best.

I agree with the Hate word. How out of line on this board. We may have differences of opinnion but one doesn't say hate.

I listen to all walks of musical style, but my preference is rock. I don't consistently listen to R&B and I've never bought an Idol cds. But I would be very interested to hear Fantasia's album. She has a presence on stage that so other contestant can even come close to...in my opinion.

After reading some of the responses about the talent on AI here in these forums, it's no wonder why the show is going to hell fast.

I just don't think America is a good judge of talent. It's more than just style and to be quite honest I think other issues are at play here.

Just an observer putting in my two cents.

and you're not going to believe this, but i disagree with you. i think talent is just one of those relative issues. i think all the final 12 had talent.

but i do agree that other issues are at play. and that the show has gone by the wayside.

She is the worst thing that ever happened in American Idol. I mean, the only reason why she was there was because she was already the favorite of the three judges to begin with. They look past beyond her donald duck voice! And we have to admit, being idolized by people sure has a lot to do with not just talent, but appearance and charisma as well. She just doesn't have that. Instead, she exudes a growing arrogance after her performances! On top of this, she can't even dance... what the hell does she think she's doing with that two-step thing?! Dude, I wish she trips or something! I can't bare watching her performances and hearing the biased comments of the three judges who have already lost their credibility to me in this season of Idol.

I'm 100% sure that the reason why the judges choose Fantasia is because they didn't want the people seeing the show as discriminating against Blacks... I agree that they aren't disriminating against Blacks but they sure are discriminating against another minority (Asians). We all have been oppressed at one point in the American History... but lingering on this oppression wouldn't make a difference in history! Would it?

Lastly, Simon wasn't really being tactical last night by saying "I'm going to be tactical here because you need a sympathy vote.. 'Fantasia, that's the worst song I've ever heard." He only added insult to injury. and I'm sure it infuriated people voting for Jasmine! Simon only added to the arrogant air that seems to linger on Fantasia.

My best bet was really LATOYA LONDON! She has the voice, the looks, and personality. AN IDOL INDEED! But now.. that she got voted off.. I'm going for Diane! But still, I seriously believe that Fantasia should be ousted tonight. Don't get me wrong here... I have a lot of Idols who are Black whether they be in the music industry, sports industry, or entertainment industry. But Fantasia Barrino IS SIMPLY NOT ONE OF THEM!

How ridiculous is this statement?? Those judges are much more competent then any of us are. So if they favor her, it's because they believe she's the best...as do I.

I don't consider her voice to be duck-like, I consider Maci Gray's voice to be "ducky", but not Fantasia. I find her voice to be unique. I think it's different, but in a really good way.

Just taking a shot in the dark here, but perhaps you're confusing arrogance with confidence...something that each of the final three have. Confidence in each one at this point is deserved for having made it this far.

Compared to who? All the others who get up there and shake their groove thing while belting it out? This sounds like a cheap and misled jab to tear down the image of a person you don't even know. If you want to play the game of propaganda, you should watch political ads and international media.

The judges were fair and honest with each contestant last night. At no time did you ever hear them compare one to the other. No one said "You're not as good as Fantasia". Their honest assessment for each girl was exactly what I was thinking. Now I'm not in the music industry, but I know what good musical talent is. The judges are in the biz, and they would be better qualified to critique the talent of those performing than any of us would be.

I know what you mean. I think its funny that people make a big issue that you used that word "hate" . Its ot that you REALLY hate her but that you hate her voice and her manerisms. I do to. I think she is pathetic that she aslwas acts like she should have some favoritism because she is a mother. I thought that was crummy she was allowed to wag her kid there onstage to get the sympathy vote. I find her revolting. I cant stand her voice or her personality and I hope that she doesnt win. However I do feel that the contest is rigged. I think that Radny wants to sleep with her and has favored her all thru the competition. He leers at her like some horney old man..and she eats it up. OH..LOL eats.,. that reminds me of her interview where she said if she was at home she would be "just EA-Unn" . She cant even pronounce the word EAT. Now..THATS what is "wrong with the world today" Lack of education. Its sad that people want to focus on a misused wor in a posting board as "whats wrong with the world" ..when we shold be concerned with things like there are happening. I hope that she gets to go home and start "ea_un" all day long. Her voice makes me want to hurl...and listening to one song is sad enough. Thinking of an entire CD is like torture. Well, if they are so BETTER qualified to Critique the talent WHY are they saying that they are leaving the results up to the public? WHAT?? we dont have EARS ?? Why do you think THEY are better qualified to say what sounds good to me?? Sorry, But Paula was a cheerleader that was hurled into music because of her laker girl moves..she is not an expert at telling me what sounds good. Randy is ..well he is a joke. Fantasia is great. I don't agree with fuscia but i like the way she said it "she does not like her style and her voice but she does not hate her" I like the way u said that. There should be no one here hating anyone especially someone with a talent like fantasia. You should say i don't like her voice or her style like fuscia said. Fuscia i could tell ur a nice person. For all you all who hate fantasia ur FOOLS!!!!!!!!!! Just becuz ur not in fantasia's place and some of u who can't be in her place it doesn't mean u got to diss her like that.

it's just that Fantasia's singing style is just really unique. I odn't think anyone else on the idol seasons has had a gospel sounding voice like hers. She's unique...and so I think it's a voice that you either really like, or you just don't like. i like Fantasia as a person. I can't stop laughing during her interivews since she's just so darn funny. However, it's just her singing style doesn't appeal to me. Well, I like her singing when she sounds a bit less gospelly like when she sang "Greatest Love of All", but when she has those performances in which she includes all those "yeah yeah yeaha's", then it just turns too gospely for my interests.

I don't hate Fantasia for goodness sake, I just prefer another person.

wow lil'babe I never thought we would get to the day when we both agreed on something.....but I have just been thinking and I have come up with that Diana was to young to win idol. She hasn't lived though the things that Fantasia has and that's why when Diana sung "I believe" it was alittle like.....you've never had to fight your way though anything...I mean Diana has been doing this since she was 5 and she has gone as far to opening for Dolly Parton in Dollywood, a few years ago....

Now don't get me wrong, I love Diana till the end because she's my hometown girl and she does have a very unbelieveable voice for a 16 year-old....but being an Idol also puts a lot of stress on them and I think Diana wasn't ready for all that......

My point to that was that to sing a song, like 'I believe', you had to have had to fight your way though hard times. Like when Kelly Clarkson sung "A moment like this", we had all heard about how she was fighting to get her voice heard in hollywood and when she sung it...you knew she had waited for a moment like this....then Clay, had had a trouble some passed and I don't know to much about Ruben but I have heard that he also had a hard past....Then Fantasia, had to be a single mom at a young age and had to believe......now Diana...this girl has been in this game so long....that she has done more before her sweet 16th then most people have done in their lives. The only thing she has ever had to live though, is her dad leaving and maybe not making it to a show ontime...or something like that.....I mean this girl, when she says she has been working for this day her whole life...she really does mean HER WHOLE LIFE....

When she first made it on Idol, our paper ran story called "GET TO KNOW DEGARMO".....and it listed out everything this girl has done.....My mom and I couldn't get over this list and my brother has always stood by what he thinks of Diana, is a mom trying to live though her daughter....and if you ever hear this list you would think so too because I don't care how much a kid likes to sing....no kid likes to sing this much.....I mean this list is so long...that I wonder if Diana ever got to have a normal childhood...or if she ever got to rest....

I think that you have only submitted this title just get reactions out of people. If that is not the case, than it is really sad, that you choose to use such harsh words. Yes you are entitled to your opinion, but to hate someone because they made it, and perhaps you didn't, is a sad situation. Don't drink haterade. I do know that prayer changes things. God Bless. jaimem, this is another user of inreveiw. i entirley disagree with what you say. fantasia is wonderful when she sings. maybe the reason a lot of people "worship" her is because she is so great.

I see Fantasia have some true haters up in here. She is a beautiful black girl with an amazing voice.
