BEYONCE'S FASHIONABLE COLLABORATION WITH MOM

R&B star Beyonce Knowles is teaming up with her mother to launch her own clothing line.

The singing beauty -- whose mom Tina designed the sexy outfits for her daughter's band Destiny's Child -- is confident her fashion creations will prove a major hit with the clothes-buying public.

Beyonce and her mom will focus on the creative side of the project while clothing manufacturer Kids Headquarters will provide the licensing and brand management.

The sexy singer says, "My mother and I share a love of fashion and style, and with this brand we're going to be able to share our vision of what is truly beautiful.

"Our line will consist of fashions that I enjoy wearing, and I want them to be appealing to my fans as well."

Beyoncé and her mom/stylist, Tina Knowles, have announced the name of their clothing line, due in the fall of 2005. The House of Dereon is named after Beyoncé's grandmother, who worked as a seamstress and started Tina's lessons in fashion. Beyonce makes arrival on the fashion scene

While models strut their way down the catwalk at New York Fashion Week, a new star has announced her "bootylicious" arrival on the fashion scene: Beyonce.

The singer and her mother, Tina Knowles, announced on Wednesday the birth of their clothing line, to be called The House of Dereon. The line is named after Beyonce's grandmother, Agnes Dereon, whose work as a skilled seamstress inspired the two generations of stylish women.

"To me, this is the greatest way to enter into the fashion world," Beyonce said in a statement. "Inspired by my grandmother, working with my mother and pursuing a dream we have all had for many years; establishing an important fashion company." It will be produced by the Knowles' company, Beyond Productions, and is expected to hit stores in fall 2005.

I think it is so nice that she is naming the label after her nan. That is such a tradition in most family's, passing on the knowledge and love of sewing from one generation to the next, but it's dying out. I think it's great that Beyonce's nan passed it on to her and her mum and they are continuing that by releasing this range.

Beyonce To Release Fashion Line

Beyonce has signed an agreement with Tarrant Apparel Group to release her own fashion line. The clothing line will be called House of Dereon, after her grandmother Agnes Dereon, and the first fashions will be in stores for the 2005 holiday season.
