I think it is important to be able to make light of a situation Ireland. There are many threads in this forum where you can address the real issues behind this conflict.

I know you'll say it's inappropriate to joke about a situation in which people are dying, and maybe you're right, but if you wish to express that view, try doing it with a little more tact and substance than saying "You are all a bunch of f**king idiots".

Sorry mate but this is a war not a comedy festival. The only people laughing are those who support it.

Ireland, The war is not a joke. But it is a joke a that the Iraq minister is trying to tell his people that there the American's have not entered, and hold parts of Baghdad. Yes he really has no option but to continue trying saying that, but to hear him say it is ridiculous. It does not mean we think the war is funny. If I was dying, and knew I was dying, and some person kept telling me that I wasn't, I would laugh at them too. I'm not laughing at the situation, but rather laughing at how ridiculous it is to say something that is so obviously false. It does not mean I find the deaths of innocent people funny. It does not mean I think war is a joke. It does not mean I support the war. If you can't see the difference, then nothing I say is likely going to change you mind.

OK here is a good joke. I ve been told that a french chanell was interviewing a US army officer about the civilian casualties. The officer said that US army doesnt on purpose hit civilian buildings. After two minutes a US TANK fired against the Palestine Hotel. 3 people died. Then it fired on nearby Al-jazzera office. 1 dead.

HA HA HA. Isnt that FUNNY?????

I get your point, yes it is surreal of him to say what he says when clearly the opposite is happening. Nevertheless the situation he is in is fairly surreal itself, I just think its an unnesscesary swipe when the reality of the situation is so important. But again, I get your point.
As for Robert 135 you think I'm an a*****e, fair play to you, maybe you and Bebert a.k.a the wise one could work together and write something special. Ah, that would be nice...big sentances for big boys...

I don't know if this guy is some evil guy, or if he was just doing his job, but he is very famous here in america, and could probably get some work for comedy sketches.

I can easily put up photos of dead children without any context and say "hey look, look what that evil coalition is doing to the poor children".

Which is what some of the TV broadcast by Iraq's neighbouring conutries is doing to keep their ppl thinking anti Western thoughts.

I've heard this arguement before, any picture can be presented with appropriate text for the use of presenting a biased arguement. Generally speaking I agree with that observation, it has occured many times throughout this war. However the pictures provided to you Charles, were obtained from the website of an independant charity organisation that deals extensively and without political judgement, with the casualties that are Iraqi children. Whether you hold this charity with some contempt, I do not know, but thats the way it is. Furthermore, the United Nations deem depleted uranium to be a weapon of mass destruction, look up the official United Nations website or refer to the U.N.I.C.E.F website or try to contact members of the United Nations or Unicef that deal with humanitarian issues specifically in Iraq, this can be done through the internet if so desired. Let me just add this...try to make your points without trying to insult people, no matter how civilised the tone, if you can't get your arguement across without doing so you end up sounding like our good friend rambo.
