Lord of the Rings Trilogy Forum

I was just observing scenes from the movie and I want to know what thing people have seen in the movie that you might miss normally.

For example Glamdring, Gandalfs sword, was made in Gondolin and should shine when Orcs are near but it doesn't in the movie.

Also I love the look that Theoden gives the witch-king on Pellinor Fields, it's just the look of Total annoyance.

Right after Gandlaf gets killed, they show shots of everyone's sad faces...When they show Legolas and Gimli I always thought Legolas was just giving Gimli a hug...Instead he's actually holding him from going back, took me awhile to noticed that one, shouldnt have though....Great thread by the way tiger

I noticed, that at Amon Hen, when all the orcs are running down the stairs, they take them one at a time....and these steps could only be 10cmhigh each! The orcs look really dainty!!

I've also noticed than when Aragorn figths the above mentioned orcs, he punches several of them, sometimes hitting they're armored chests. Wouldn't that hurt only slightly?

In the Two Towers, When they were lining up in the wall of Helm's Deep, waiting, I just LOVE the look on Theoden's face when the rain starts, is says, "It can't get any better than thins." It's so FUNNY!...

There is this big debate between me and my friends whether Elrond is gay or not (though we KNOW he has a daughter), the debate never ceased, it was only subdued. On the day we went to the premires of ROTK to see it, I LAUGHED OUT LOUD during one scene, I mean, WHOOPED OUT LOUD, causing everyone to look at me, some even shushing me, and when I told my friend who was sitting beside me, she LAUGHED SO HARD, my other two friends just looked at us, mouthing, "WHAT?!?" all the time we were laughing. I think it was during the scene when Arwen came running back after she saw her son in a vision.... Anyway, suddenly, out poped the picture of Elrond, and what do I see? her was wearing a lilac corset. I don't know why it was so funny but it was FUNNY to me then. *sigh* I'm weird.

Ever watch the LOTR in its Animation form? Well, Legolas is what gets me the most. With his WHITE and YELLOW hose and FUR-lines clothes!

His yellow hose just screams, "SHOT ME!", don't you think? ... Him and his Fara Foset hair....

I just noticed, after watching my new ROTK DVD , that there is a major break in continuity at the Black Gate. In Aragorn's famous 'This day we fight!' speech, he is riding on a horse, then the next time we see him, he is standing in rank with everyone else, along with Gandalf and Eomer... So where do their horses go??

And the actor on the horse with Gandalf isn't Billy Boyd, it's his scale double. It gives a close up on her face.--Same scene

For some reason the Orc that says how Shelob kills her prey when the orcs find Frodo, who is also the one that Sam kills, reminds me of Bruce Forsythe.

I'm gonna have to check that out!

I just thought about this while I was watching my ROTK movie last night...The people on top of these mountains waiting for the beacons to be lit...Now maybe I am missing something here but how do they survive? They are on top of snowy mountains, waiting for the beacons to be lit...Where's the food...shelter? Cause as far as we can see I don't see any houses anywhere. Just a thought

What did you have to use zoom for that? I never looked that closely!!! Next time I watch it I'll have to look very closely...How do they get there food though? There living on top of a snowy mountain and who knows how far from civilization!!!

Thats what I was thinking... maybe they swap watches evey day or something, and bring their food up with them...

That would be a pain, I don't see any way to get down from the mountains except by climbing

mmm....stupid people!

I was just watching ROTK and noticed that in the tower of Cirith Ungol, when it comes to the "I'm gonna bleed you, like a stuck pig!" bit, when sam says "Not if I stick you first" He pulls out Sting and.....there is nothing on it! No blood...no gore....it is completely clean!!

And in the bit after the Pellenor fields, before the : Certainty of death, small chance of sucess. Bit....Legolas has his hand under his other arm....why???

Oh, and also, when Frodo says: 'The ring is mine' In the time it takes him to put on the ring, Sam could have run over and grabbed it off him.

It is really annoying! The onlt explanation i can think of, is that he has been pulling the bowstring back with that hand, and it hurts.

Apart from Sam, Legolas is the only person that doesn't have his name said (or mouthed) by Frodo at the end, in the bedroom. It's like Frodo is saying: And you are not important enough for me to remember your name...

Heres one. When Pippin is climbing up to the torch he starts out on a building and ends up climbing a cliff. I know that gondor is partly on a cliff side but i didn't see that place again when the Nazgul flew over it.

I'll have to look for that....Never noticed it before.

Bilbo at the end of Return of the King, getting on to the boats, reminds me of Flitwick from the Harry Potter Movies.

You know Bruce the Orc isn't in the Return of the King game.

(P.S. I think that the orc that reminds me of Bruce Forsythe in the movie is Shagrat)

I have noticed that in the Fellowship of the Ring at the Troll fight in Balins Tomb that Sting isn't glowing when Frodo gets attacked by the troll.

So in the EE of ROTK, the Witch King shatters Gandalfs Staff. Later on, he has it again. Where did he get the new one? Also, how did he get his staff back from Saruman in Fellowship?
