There is a rumor that a student will switch houses in the next book. Who do you think it will be?

That's an interesting rumour. Is it possible to switch houses?

I'd say the switch will be from Gryffindor to Slitherine, or vice versa, but buggered if I can figure out who it'll be...

Yep, because we are'nt really concerned with them. I cant Imagine a Slytherin coming to Griffindor though....it would be really weird...

I dunno. I'm still kind of wondering if that rumor is phrased so that it seems like a Hogwarts House switch, when it's really Harry spending a good portion of the summer at the Shrieking Shack. (There's a rumor that he's going to do that too.)

Who knows... but, it would be interesting to have it be a Slytherin switching over to Gryffindor. That would be something. Like Draco... realizing how evil his father and Voldemort are, after Hermione ***** slaps him, and he wants to be good! RIGHT!

I wonder if Luna will go to Gryffindor. There are rumors that it will be her. Heck, it is not like Crabbe or Goyle are going to Ravenclaw.

That would be great if Luna came over to Gryffindor. More time for her to spend with Harry!

It also could be Pansy Parkinson or some other person who changes houses.

Or it could be Hermoine.She could have gone to Ravenclaw.
Neville could have been given a choice also.Between Hufflepuff and Gryffindor.He could have chosen Gryffindor because of his parents.

Luna sounds like a likely subject, but noooooo way will she be going out with Harry. She's too weird!

Can you imagine Hermione's face if they put her in Hufflepuff?

She would be LIVID, and horrified over that. She wouldn't want to leave Gryffindor.

Now that the movie is out and more people are in the forum, does anyone have any new ideas of who will switch houses?

I don't know why but i think it could possibly hermione, it's just i remember reading somwhere in the books somone saying to hermione " why weren't you put in ravenclaw" or something like that. it just kind of stuck with me. Do we know though of anyone else that has ever switched houses?

Good question Heather. We don't know yet, but we do know that it is going to happen. I think it will be Luna going to Gryffindor.

I think that it's possible to see Luna make a switch, especially since they have introduced her to us in book 5, and she kept popping up all over the place.

She did prove her bravery by going to the Ministry with the gang.

Yes, she did... and she could be given the choice of switching houses, or the hat could just automatically let Dumbledore know this info.

Yes, I know... but, I just don't see it, yet. They would REALLY have to get those two spending time together, talking, getting to know each other. Otherwise, I just couldn't believe or accept it.

Well, he might think that Luna is whack... but, I have a feeling that will change!

Well, you have to also think about the relationship between Harry, Ron, and Hermione. If Harry ends up with a girlfriend, she would have to fit in with the group well. Ron and Hermione think Luna is a twit. Ginny on the otherhand, has been known to talk about boys with Hermione, and she is Ron's sister. Ginny would fit better.

Oh god... if Draco switched houses, I would be so utterly and completely shocked!

My prediction for switching houses is Luna. She's the only one I can imagine at this point.

Well, with the fact that there will be a house switching, maybe that is just what JKR wants us to think... that it will be Luna.
Maybe it's going to be someone that we would NEVER, EVER suspect would switch houses.

It could be the girl with the long plait that Harry was staring at in the last part of the book.

Seamus did not believe Harry about Voldemort at first, maybe he will go to Slytherin.

at the end of the 5th book though... Luna seems to be the only one Harry can talk to and not feel weird... they do seem to get along well

Exactly, Katie... since they arrived to the grounds of Hogwarts, and Harry started finding similarities with her, I've had a feeling that something is going to transpire between these two. I think that Harry can talk to her about anything and have no fear of being judged for his actions, or thoughts!

I for one think that Luna will switch, as it sounds like her housemates don't treat her very well. Also, in just one year she's made more friends in Gryffindor than she has in Ravenclaw in the last five years.

Another good point, Mike.... I hope that it is Luna. I really enjoy her character, and want to see more of a development of it.

Good points Mike and Rachel. I think it has to be Luna that switches houses. I think she can help Neville too. Neville was the other kid that was able to see thestrals.

I don't think they would break up the trio. Neville has proved his bravery by standing up to Malfoy, Harry , Ron and by going to the Department of Mysteries.

Ginny is a very powerful witch, and she is very smart as well. There is a lot to Ginny.

But she's also very brave. And she does have a lot in her. I mean look who her brothers are!

I don't know if whether this is a credible theory, but if you go onto J.K Rowlings new official site, you'll see a butterfly which dominates a couple of the pages, the thing is, it changes from the colour blue, to green;

Cho means butterfly in Japanese, and curently she is in Ravenclaw(Blue house colours), so perhaps this could be a reference to her physically changing houses (perhaps to Slytherin - green) or changing interms of views and personality?

Blaise... it's things like that, that I believe JKR hopes people will find.
I don't believe in coinsidences with her... she does these things for a reason.
