| Posted by: fuscia | | There is a rumor that a student will switch houses in the next book. Who do you think it will be? | | Reply To this Message
| Posted by: gaboman | | That's an interesting rumour. Is it possible to switch houses?
I'd say the switch will be from Gryffindor to Slitherine, or vice versa, but buggered if I can figure out who it'll be...
Gotta be someone interesting though (if it's true) | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: peregr!n | | Wow, cool.
Hmmm, i wonder who it would be?? I agree, G, it would have to be between Gryffindor and Slytherin. | | Reply To this Message
| Posted by: peregr!n | | Yep, because we are'nt really concerned with them. I cant Imagine a Slytherin coming to Griffindor though....it would be really weird... | | Reply To this Message
| Posted by: gaboman | | Ah, but weird may be interesting... like a Slytherin not being trusted by the Gryffindors... spooky stuff | | Reply To this Message
| Posted by: CelticDragon | | I dunno. I'm still kind of wondering if that rumor is phrased so that it seems like a Hogwarts House switch, when it's really Harry spending a good portion of the summer at the Shrieking Shack. (There's a rumor that he's going to do that too.) | | Reply To this Message
| Posted by: Lawless | | Who knows... but, it would be interesting to have it be a Slytherin switching over to Gryffindor. That would be something. Like Draco... realizing how evil his father and Voldemort are, after Hermione ***** slaps him, and he wants to be good! RIGHT! | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: fuscia | | Grant, you are the offical spell checker for the site now.
I wonder if Luna will go to Gryffindor. There are rumors that it will be her. Heck, it is not like Crabbe or Goyle are going to Ravenclaw. | | Reply To this Message
| Posted by: Lawless | | That would be great if Luna came over to Gryffindor. More time for her to spend with Harry! | | Reply To this Message
| Posted by: fuscia | | I am not buying that loony Luna is going to be Harry's new girlfriend.
It also could be Pansy Parkinson or some other person who changes houses. | | Reply To this Message
| Posted by: Nion | | But what about Harry? He could swich houses?Remeber that the sorting hat gave him a choice.
Or it could be Hermoine. She could have gone to Ravenclaw.
Neville could have been given a choice also.Between Hufflepuff and Gryffindor. He could have chosen Gryffindor because of his parents. | | Reply To this Message
| Posted by: gaboman | | yeah that was a good one Sherry
Luna sounds like a likely subject, but noooooo way will she be going out with Harry. She's too weird!

| Posted by: Lawless | | She would be LIVID, and horrified over that. She wouldn't want to leave Gryffindor. | | Reply To this Message
| Posted by: fuscia | | Now that the movie is out and more people are in the forum, does anyone have any new ideas of who will switch houses? | | Reply To this Message
| Posted by: daemon17 | | I don't know why but i think it could possibly hermione, it's just i remember reading somwhere in the books somone saying to hermione " why weren't you put in ravenclaw" or something like that. it just kind of stuck with me. Do we know though of anyone else that has ever switched houses? | | Reply To this Message
| Posted by: fuscia | | Good question Heather. We don't know yet, but we do know that it is going to happen. I think it will be Luna going to Gryffindor. | | Reply To this Message
| Posted by: Lawless | | I think that it's possible to see Luna make a switch, especially since they have introduced her to us in book 5, and she kept popping up all over the place. | | Reply To this Message
| Posted by: Lawless | | Yes, she did... and she could be given the choice of switching houses, or the hat could just automatically let Dumbledore know this info. | | Reply To this Message
| Posted by: Nion | | Isn't there a rumor about 2 unknown Gryffindor girls?Maybe they are not unknown they just switched houses. | | Reply To this Message

Okay, I can see Luna switching. She's so weird tho. |
While she is a strange one, I REALLY like her, and I have thought that she might be the one that Harry ends up with.

| Posted by: Lawless | | Heather, I take it that you didn't like me saying that maybe Harry and Luna might end up together? | | Reply To this Message
| Posted by: Lawless | | Yes, I know... but, I just don't see it, yet. They would REALLY have to get those two spending time together, talking, getting to know each other. Otherwise, I just couldn't believe or accept it. | | Reply To this Message
| Posted by: Lawless | | Well, he might think that Luna is whack... but, I have a feeling that will change! | | Reply To this Message
| Posted by: Heatherhobbit | | Well, you have to also think about the relationship between Harry, Ron, and Hermione. If Harry ends up with a girlfriend, she would have to fit in with the group well. Ron and Hermione think Luna is a twit. Ginny on the otherhand, has been known to talk about boys with Hermione, and she is Ron's sister. Ginny would fit better. | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: fuscia | | Stephanie, they have not explained why someone whould switch houses yet. | | Reply To this Message

First off: Darn you, Sherry! You stole my idea for a thread. Well, sort of.
I've been wondering about what Nion said for a long time. Harry seems perfect for Gyffindor: he's brave, he's honest, ect.
But what about 3 of his closest friends: Hermione, Ron and Neville? Hermione's most important trait seems to be her cleverness. And Neville and Ron are good, loyal friends but they aren't too brave. Why aren't they in Hufflepuff?
But I don't think either Hermione, Ron or Neville will switch houses. I think that over time, their bravery and valiance (I'm not sure if that's a word) will become more obvious. Heck, just look at Book 5!

| Posted by: fuscia | | Reese, I failed divination. How could I know you were going to start a thread on this.
What if Draco switches houses? Just kidding. THere is talk on the internet of Pansy Parkinson going to Gryffindor. Why? I have NO idea. | | Reply To this Message
| Posted by: Lawless | | Oh god... if Draco switched houses, I would be so utterly and completely shocked!
And his dad would have a heart attack while Voldemort was beating him for not keeping his son "in line" | | Reply To this Message
| Posted by: Heatherhobbit | | My prediction for switching houses is Luna. She's the only one I can imagine at this point. | | Reply To this Message
| Posted by: Lawless | | Well, with the fact that there will be a house switching, maybe that is just what JKR wants us to think... that it will be Luna.
Maybe it's going to be someone that we would NEVER, EVER suspect would switch houses. | | Reply To this Message
| Posted by: fuscia | | It could be the girl with the long plait that Harry was staring at in the last part of the book. | | Reply To this Message
| Posted by: fuscia | | Seamus did not believe Harry about Voldemort at first, maybe he will go to Slytherin. | | Reply To this Message
| Posted by: katie62188 | | at the end of the 5th book though... Luna seems to be the only one Harry can talk to and not feel weird... they do seem to get along well | | Reply To this Message
| Posted by: Lawless | | Exactly, Katie... since they arrived to the grounds of Hogwarts, and Harry started finding similarities with her, I've had a feeling that something is going to transpire between these two. I think that Harry can talk to her about anything and have no fear of being judged for his actions, or thoughts! | | Reply To this Message
| Posted by: agent mike | | I for one think that Luna will switch, as it sounds like her housemates don't treat her very well. Also, in just one year she's made more friends in Gryffindor than she has in Ravenclaw in the last five years. | | Reply To this Message
| Posted by: Lawless | | Another good point, Mike.... I hope that it is Luna. I really enjoy her character, and want to see more of a development of it. | | Reply To this Message
| Posted by: fuscia | | Good points Mike and Rachel. I think it has to be Luna that switches houses. I think she can help Neville too. Neville was the other kid that was able to see thestrals. | | Reply To this Message
| Posted by: fuscia | | I don't think they would break up the trio. Neville has proved his bravery by standing up to Malfoy, Harry , Ron and by going to the Department of Mysteries.
I wonder if Ginny might go to Ravenclaw? | | Reply To this Message
| Posted by: fuscia | | Ginny is a very powerful witch, and she is very smart as well. There is a lot to Ginny. | | Reply To this Message
| Posted by: Heatherhobbit | | But she's also very brave. And she does have a lot in her. I mean look who her brothers are! | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: Blaise | | I don't know if whether this is a credible theory, but if you go onto J.K Rowlings new official site, you'll see a butterfly which dominates a couple of the pages, the thing is, it changes from the colour blue, to green;
Cho means butterfly in Japanese, and curently she is in Ravenclaw(Blue house colours), so perhaps this could be a reference to her physically changing houses (perhaps to Slytherin - green) or changing interms of views and personality? | | Reply To this Message
| Posted by: Lawless | | Blaise... it's things like that, that I believe JKR hopes people will find.
I don't believe in coinsidences with her... she does these things for a reason.
Good catch | | Reply To this Message

I did notice it changing colors. Wow. Great work Blaise. It could be Cho or perhaps her friend Marietta the sneak who will go to Slytherin.
