Thread open to discuss the tale of Beren and Luthien. This is my favorite tale in the Silmarillion.

Where do you begin?

Beren as a woodsman of the north

Beren entering Doriath and seeing Luthien Tinuviel

Beren coming to Nargothrond

Finrod giving his life for Beren

Luthien Tinuviel and Huor saving Beren from Tol Sirion and Sauron

Beren and Luthien sneaking into Thangorodrim

Luthien putting Morgoth to sleep and Beren stealing the silmaril

Beren Camlost having his hand bitten off by Morgoths wolf.

Beren and Thingol and others huntint that wolf.

Beren dying as Huor fought the wolf.

Luthien dying and getting Mandos to have pity on her and Beren.

Gatting reincarnated with Beren.

there is too much to choose from.

I think you just have to start at what parts moved you the most. FOr me, it was Luthien going to save Beren and helping him get a Silmaril. What a brave elf she was.

I think that the most meaningful part of the story, if it were a movie, would be Luthien pleading with Mandos for Pity on her and her love.
