| Posted by: Sean Kelly | | Something that has disturbed me from first hearing about this show was the idea that the show creators are suggesting that women are willing to resort to desperate measures in search of "love". So is it love these girls are after? | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: Kenny Loren | | Love is the last thing on these girl's minds. You can already tell by the way that some of them talk, they're treating it like a "game show" - "just play the game!", is what you hear some saying. It's clearly about the money and many are admitted so already.
It's whether or not that changes over the coming weeks.
What's odd is that any guy who admittedly is looking for a wife, would consider this route. Particularly if he's sensitive, sensible and even mildly attractive.... Under false pretenses, why does this guy want to take the chance of hooking up with some woman that may have the completely warped motivations?

| Posted by: saber | | Hey I am new to the board. I'm not into TV, but I think this show is great and feel very strongly about the issue it presents.
Although it is a shallow concept, I must commend the creators because they are making it work.
Now...Women are conniving *****es when it comes to men. Especially when it comes to money. They will lie and back-stab and do whatever it takes to win. Even if they are not that interested in the guy. Obviously the entire race of women are not like that, but this lot is giving the rest of the female population a bad rep.
I would say it has to do with the number of women to men. There are not enough "good or real men" to go around for the "good women". The statistic I believe world wide is 48% men, 52% women. Who wouldn't put up a fight to the death?
This show has shown the downside of human nature. I really hope it opens up the true meaning of love at some point ( i doubt it)
Look at the movies Maid In Manhattan or Pretty Woman...the roles are reversed. Some guys don't look at women as Doctors, Lawyers, Real Estate Tycoons, bread and butter, someone to take care of their children. Unless, they themselves have failed financially.
I just think this is the reality for most women. I'm guessing the women that were chosen don't have children, and it looks like most of them are professionals.
What makes them think they are so special to have it all? There are only twenty of them and they think they are going to defy the rest of the masses and get a Millionaire hunk?
One of the reasons I REALLY wanted to watch the show...was to see the looks on some of those girls faces when the truth is revealed. Hearts will not be broken, but superficial dreams will be shattered.
Well enough for now. I have one last shallow thought. Evan Marriot is totally gorgeous and I would bring him coffee and sub-sandwhiches to the construction site anytime! | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: hedwards | | My girlfriend will NOT watch this show. Her friend exclaimed the same thing and will NOT watch this show. Another female that was in the room with me last week when I watched it seemed to be enjoying herself at that time, but now indicates the show was "stupid" when questioned about it in front of other females.
I've not seen a show have quite this effect before. More than anything, I believe that it's entertaining and that Joe, himself, can't possibly believe he's going into this with any chance of salvaging a working relationship - well, if he does, he has some big walls to knock down.
All that said and done - any women have any recommendations for how I can get my woman to watch this show? | | Reply To this Message

Alright, girl - you've had plenty of time to do your homework, and it's time for you to take a stand. We're down to five girls - who do think is going to come out victorious? It's like dog racing.. you gotta make your selection -before- you get too many indications of who the actual winner's gonna be
PS: ... and welcome to the board - we're glad to have you here and wait around for you to show up heh heh
