| Posted by: sirusbabyqt | | Yes, I know i might of put a little to much thought into this, but i always do Anyways, in book three Lupin states that while the Boggart is in the wardrobe he has as yet no form and no one knows what it is.
In book five Mrs Weasly asks if Moody can look into the drawing room desk to see if there is a boggart inside. Does this mean that he can see what the Boggart looks like when it hasn't taken on a form to scar somebody. I find it unlikly that Boggarts can indeed see through solid objects too.
What are your thoughts on this?

| Posted by: fuscia | | This excellent thread was in the book section. I think it should be on the main page so we all can come up with an answer about it. | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: Lawless | | That is such an amazing thought... and I wonder if it's something that JKR will address.
Thank you so much for thinking about this. Something to definately ponder. | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: fuscia | | Another questions is what would a boggart out of the desk look like to Moody? What does he fear the most? | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: HPguy | | I noticed this too. I also noticed that in the third book, Lupin had said that no one (I don't know if he included people with magical eyes in this statement) knew what a boggart looked like in it's unchanged form. Going off of that, how would Moody know it was a boggart anyway. He might have seen them before, I will admit, after all, he is an Auror. Though I'll bet Rowling has gotten many a question about this subject.

| Posted by: fuscia | | It makes you wonder if the boggart senses the magical eye. It would be interesting how JKR would explain this one. | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: peregr!n | | Yeah, maybe it can sense someone searching or looking for it, and sort of, tap in to their emotions, finding out what they fear. Then they can change before the person gets there. | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: Lawless | | Don't know if they can sense a magical eye looking upon them... but, does Moody's eye allow him to see through walls, etc...?
Also, even if he didn't know what one looked like, if it was in a cabinet, and he could see through it, and it was in a form, but different to him when he opened it... then, I would guess he has seen it's true forum. Who knows! | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: fuscia | | Moody can see through walls and cabinets with his spooky eye. He was able to see Harry standing outside Dumbledores office, well, that was fake Moody, but it was his fake eye on fake Moody . | | Reply To this Message
