Diana was the best tonight, and I am a Fantasia fan. Overall the singing was horrible. Let's hope for some better themes nights to come.

really? what did she sing? I don't mind finding out what they sang, so that is why I come in the thread early.

Well....this week, I wasnt overly impressed with anyone in the complete sense, and I think that had more to do with the type of music that AI had this week.

Im with Randy on the fact that it's great music...but not for someone else to sing.

To be perfectly honest.....Diana was the one I thought did the best this week.

So...(and this is for you OBF)...I will rank them: from best to worst.

1. Diana (Impressed me..especially the fast paced part of the song..she didnt miss a word on that one.)

2. Latoya (Good vocals, just didnt feel the rythym like she was trying to sing..if that makes sense).

3. George (Still too bouncy for my tastes, but the vocals werent bad).

4. Jasmine (off key in many places, but not overly bad)

5. Fantasia (She is one of my favorites...but in the totality of tonight...I would say it wasnt even close to her best.)

6. John (all in all...so off key..it made my eyes water....I was in total agreement with Randy...we are lucky if we heard three notes on key...horrible...and Im sorry fans of Johns...to me it was yet another bad week).

wellllllllllllllllllllll my favorite tonight was LaToya... she was great! Looked like she was having fun too!! I love George but he and John were the worst singers... Diana was pretty good, Fantasia was pretty good... Jasmine,,,, love the song just not the way she did it...
all for me!!

And I did vote this week!!!

This was another dismal concept night just like Elton John, the only one who did a credble job with the Latin music was Diana. All the rest were wprse and worser.
Why don't the Producers realize these are kids and are not into John or Gloria?

Beats me. I can't even rate them except worse and worser!!!!

latoya was my favorite tonight. followed by george. tomorrow night should be interesting.

hah, just realized this is actually a "who should be voted off" thread. ok. i'm no fan of fantasia but i really thought diana was horrible. that song just did not suit her.

Well....it will be interesting...

Ive been calling for over a half hour to vote for Diana, because she IMO was the best, and I cant get through. Busy, busy, busy.

Hmmm...I just cant tell what the outcome will be....I do think that its time for John to go...he just cant keep up with the rest.

Well...not really with this type pf music..and honestly...it just wasnt a grand night on AI...but that my opinion.

Anyhow..if I can name the names of the songs here goes:

Diana: Turn the Beat Around

LaToya: Rythym is gonna get you

Fantasia: Get on Your Feet

John: Music of the Heart

George:

Jasmine:

George sang a fast paced song..I know it...but I forgot the name.

Jasmine also sang one of her well known songs...more medium paced, and again, I forgot the name...

Someone will come on and say what they were...Im sorry I cant remember.

But the other songs were the right ones I mentioned.

If I remember, Ill post them.

You know what though....normally I like Diana, not a huge fan, but I just dont vote for her...tonight I really did think she was the best...and if it makes any difference, my husband, who normally likes LaToya, though Diana was the best tonight also...

Its the first agreement we have had about who was the best on a night of AI....

I thought diana was hands down the best tonight followed by la toya then jasmine, george, john then fantasia. I have been real impressed with the way diana has been singing lately. Though I wasn't sure why simon didn't like the dress so much, I thought it was cool.

George sang: "Live for Loving You"

Jasmine Sang: "Here we are"

My Rank:

Diana, probably the best of the worst night ... but it was the SONG choice that was perfect not Diana. She was off-tune and off key a couple of times but can handle a song like this. She got lucky and picked right.

Latoya, poor song, just repetitive junk and not much to work with, but her dancing was pretty good. She was out of breath BEFORE thesong ended.

John, sorry but Randy was dead wrong. He and Latoya were the ONLY ones who DIDN'T get pitchy and of key in spots. He did a good job on a night with crappy choices.

George, weak perfomance, pitchy and salsa-dipped his way through. Really not good.

Jasmine, was off key and out of tune through most of the song, but she sure looked pretty.

Fantasia, I barely recognized the song. She can bobo all she wants but this was definitely the WORST of he evening.

Well...you knew I had to comment.

I dont know what you were listening to when he sang...but he was downright awful! Even my son was wincing throughout.

He was so off key...and as I thought his version of Mandy wasnt great...that was spectacular compared to this night.

It would simply amaze me to find out he made it through another week....

Im serious...I actually teared up listening to his song....(and it wasnt because he moved me emotionally in a good way)

Okay... I have to say that I couldn't STAND Fantasia. What was up with the "No bra, boobd flopping all over"? Her voice wasn't that good.

George... not impressed.

LaToya... she looked AND sounded the part. She was AWESOME!!

John... bye bye

Jasmine... she was okay

Diana... WOW! Absolutely loved it. She did a bang up job.
The dress though!!! My god... stuff sausage. Not so tight, honey!

Fantasia-girl, get a bra or don't plan on dancing. Her performance was nothing special. She did take the critism very well this week.

George- and "live for loving you" bleck! I hated it.

Latoya-went out of the mold and sang "rhythm is going to get you" performed very well. She is great with a band. Singing was ok.

John-now how sweet is it that he sang "music of my heart" for his grandma. He was feeling the song, and I have never seen him look so comfortable on stage. If he goes home this week, then he went out having a good time. Simon bolstered him up with a comment about him having nothing to feel guilty about being the in the competition. I think the judges, by their comments and tone of them this week, are more than aware of the John bashing.

Jasmine- did a great job

Diana- looked bad in the dress but she ROCKED! AND she was the only one with enough class to acknowledge the band. Miami Sound Machine are awesome.

Of course we start things off with Ryan riffing on the anger of all the Jennifer fans who didn't vote. He even mentions mail from someone telling him to put the mic stand in a special spot. Anyway, he finally gets around to introducing tonight's guest judge Gloria Estefan who wisely says she's not hear to judge but merely to "root and smile." Good choice. Gloria looks the best she ever has tonight and we are also told that the Miami Sound Machine is guest "banding" tonight. Woot, Woot!!! A quick jabber with the kids shows them all choosing Latoya as the one with the best dance moves, except Latoya, who easily chooses John.

First up! Fantasia Barrino wails "Get On Your Feet" to the clapping crowd, intro-ing the song as a dedication to Jennifer. She is once again all over the stage and covering a lot of ground and like the other times when she has been very active during a song, her singing slips. She even does another shout out to Jennifer in the midst of the song. It almost seems like she's begging for Jennifers votes now that she's gone. Good strategy. Actually, I'm sure it's just Fantasia being herself. The song is competant, but not great. Her spunk is back tonight, but the cockiness from her early weeks is completely gone. Randy says the performance was good, but the vocals were subpar. Paula says she consumed it all. Hmmm... Simon says she sounded like Donald Duck on helium to which Fantasia said "That's okay. I get called Bugs Bunny all the time." Simon looked her up and down and then said "more like Jessica Rabbit." You decipher that.

George Huff does his turn with "Live For Loving You." Aside from a quick fun scat that he throws in the middle, the song is really blah. By nature it has rhythm and bounce, but there are so many dead spots in it designed for dancing, that the song just feels empty. George sings fine, but just seems lost in the fight for command of the song. Randy gives him props for finding himself in the song, oddly enough. Paula guffaws and giggles because Simon is touching her under the table, and Simon says it was "amateurish."

Singing "Rhythm Is Gonna Get You" Latoya dances about, looking very much like Josephine Baker. Latoya looks the part, moves with style, and sings just as well. She proves the kids right about who has the moves. She even has a 10 second bit in the song where she stops singing and just dances. The performance is not the best I've ever seen, but it will easily be the best tonight. None of the last three could possibly be better. Randy says it was good, but just okay. Paula says she only wished there were more of Latoya, and Simon says it was good and just what Latoya needed. Even though she's been singing well, she's been a bit on the boring side.

Now we're treated to a clip of the Top Six pretending to work for a Subway. Great, I've been trying to picture them as popstars and now all I can see is George making sandwiches for the rest of my life. What were they thinking? I did notice they had some of the contestants' pictures above the beverage fountains and some young girl was eagerly dispensing a lot of John Stevens! Is that legal?

John Stevens is dedicating "Music of My Heart" to his Grandmother. Uh-oh. Last time she was in the studio was for "My Girl," not to mention the last time we had a guest band was for "My Girl." And like "My Girl" Johnny tanks. It isn't quite as bad as Motown week, but John is, let's just say, not on tonight. Randy likes John's shoes, but the performance he dislikes very much. Paula says it was a valiant effort, and Simon decides to try reverse psychology with America. He compliments John for taking every bullet like a man and says John is staying in the competition and has nothing to feel guilty about. He adds that John and Latin music go together like chocolate ice cream and onions. Yak!

"Here We Are." Once again, it's Jasmine Trias. Like last week, the flower is no longer in her hair and wow, does that make a difference. She looks much more mature and focused without it. She started the song good, but wait- after the halfway point everything is starting to slide around. She's gotten sloppy again with the notes. Yikes! The first half was very nice and the second wasn't. Randy says it was okay, Paula's a big fan of Jasmine's voice, and Simon said it was pleasant, but not good enough at this stage. Paula says she likes pleasant. Well that beats just giggling because Simon is touching you. Arggh!

Finally, we get to Diana, who chooses to do the obligatory "Turn The Beat Around." She's wearing a tight red wrap dress that does her no favors, and worse yet, the bottom is all slit into long strips of crepe paper. Eeeeeyech! Her singing is good though. Mostly solid. It isn't fluid like Latoya's performance, but it was alright. Randy loves it. Paula loves it. Simon gives the performance a seven and the dress a zero.

Simon made mention that the only person to come out looking good tonight was Gloria Estefan. Very true. The songs that sounded great for her were obviously a tough sell with the contestants. I wonder if that's because they all have their own individual style that will serve them well on their cds, but not help them with Latin music? That just might be.

Okay, the bottom three will definitely be the ones with the least amounts of votes. That's all I'm predicting anymore. But did anyone else notice over the credits, the roving cameras did nothing but spotlight Jasmine and Latoya signs? Seriously. I saw some for all the Top Six during the night, but right now, during prime voting moments, they went around zooming in on just signs for those two, even repeating some of the same ones. Go figure. Yikes!

I really used to be into Gloria Estafan a while back and coming into this week i thought that Latoya, Jasmine and Diana especially would do well .... mind you i didnt think Latoya would pick such a dancy song but hey she's showing off her skills and energy which is defintely welcome... good to see some variety from her Diana is great at the upbeat high tempo songs and Jasmine picked just the song i thought she would. I would have expected these 3 girls to be in the top 3 for this week but lets see if George makes it into the bottom 3 for his first time... but i hope he doesnt go though!

thanks again purplefish and i continue to look forward to your reviews and opinions

Gloria's songs are very hard to sing, simply becuase it's like singing acapella. The music doesn't match, so it's hard to get in tune and stay in tune because the music is completly different than the choris

In order of worst to best:

I thought Fantasia was not good last night but then I don't like her style of singing. She grates.

Not Georges style of singing either, I think Georges voice is conducive to only a couple of genres.

I don't know the song the John sang but I got the feeling that he forgot some of the words. I maybe wrong. He was great until about about half way thru the song, then there was a pause then he became off pitch. Then it happend a second time and he started to with a da or a do then then he recovered and the rest of the song finished up well. If you didn't detect that then maybe he has what it takes to cover his mistakes to where the audience doesn't see it.

Jasmine and LaToya to me tonight were about equal in their performance, they were good, not great and not horrible. Just average.

Diana, this girl is having fun, working the audience, working the band and working the judges. She is the one to beat. I think she raised the bar.

I really like the Jasmine, La Toya, and Diana and I think they should be the top 3. Sorry guys, this season is for the girls. I think Fantasia will go tonight.

You know mystic, I'm not familiar with the song he sang. I understand GE did it with N'Sync ? So ... I tried to listen to the voice and the lyric to see if it made sense that he was singing to his Grandma and it did from what I heard.

It is very possible that I didn't know if he had the melody wrong because I don't know the melody.

John didn't sound "flat" or out of tune to me though, but thid time I will agree that it was boring.

I looked at some other boards today, and most people have Fantasia and George as bottom 2 last night with Latoya and Diana flipping on the Top 2 and John and Jasmine as 3rd or 4th best.

I think overall it was a horrible singing night and it was excruciatingly obvious that none of them are exactly ready for prime time.

I felt so bad for John lastnight. This music was very hard to sing, I think only Gloria could pull it off, I think it was unfair to ask these kids to be SO versitile, c'moin, they are amatures. I like george the best, BUT have to say Diane did a good job, the best IMO. Fantasia sounded like she was singing in a tin can, it was very screachy.. The guys looked lost. Ron, I had the same problem with Johns song and I did hear the little "glitch" you mentioned, which he handled.

What I think happenned last evening was Simon used a different tactic. He was pretty nice to John, and commented on the genre's lack of suitability but said nothing personally or heavily negative to him, and was a tad more heavy handed with the others, when heretofor it's been the opposite.

Latoya (has been in danger of being boring)

George (amateurish)

Fantasia (good performance, bad vocal, Donald Duck on helium)

Diana ( performance 7, Dress 0)

Jasmine ( plaesant imitation, elevator sound track)

This subtle tactic was set to put things in reverse, to calm John's fans down so they wouldn't vote like mad to "save" him, and some will think at least he'll go out on a positive note.

All the cries of supposed "racism" which is horsefeathers, also works with that. Fantasia's hollering about this is for Jennifer was shameless and disgusting.

And her talking in the video about GE being "a mom too" and over-showing her baby in the audience again ... well, I just wish she'd go home then and be a mom and take care of her daughter.

They made it known that George wasn't "feeling well", and I think you are correct that in a few genres he did shine, but his voice has audibly weakened and he simply has no vocal stamina.

An all minority bottom 3 tonight would be a marketing nightmare and I also think John's fans may have given up, so John is the one who could easily leave tonight.

I thought is was really sickning that fantasia was hollering Jennifers name. It was inapproprate, and no bra, c'mon have some class. I think the whole night was kinda awful. But Diana did the best job. I just wish John would come out of his shell somewhat, I think that it could win over some votes, because be honest alot of people are voting on personality not talent. and John could easilt win over people with a little personality....and next week BIG BAND, he would peobaly shine.....oh well, we'll see tonight

Just a further note regarding why I put Diana and Latoya as the bst of the worst.

Diana chose a song that is really beat driven and not vocally driven. She did nail the rapid-word part that emulated percussive instruments. But in the parts that she "sang" she was off key a number of times, and being Diana, she shrieked her way through. ( And I thought the dress was absolutely wrong for her and a just a ghastly shade of red.) She pulled a Kelly and 'gave props' to the band, but I looked away for a minute and missed it. That's what Kelly did in Season 1, and it's good form, class and what you DO ! Diana was also positioned in the "highlight of the show" spot, and as such she should have saved it and she really didn't.

Latoya, as Simon said, has experience working with a band and that showed. But she was visibly and audibly out of breath and the song required no real emotion, just stage "moves". Latoya still didn't really connect ? I mean did she hold your attention other than the moves and make you want to get up and dance ?
I have been saying that she sounds so same/same all the time and she is rote and yes ... good voice but it's does get rather boring.

John, I've already said, and as said before, he has a VERY good voice. Last night ? Not bad for a kid who has been maligned and castigated and is now getting death threats, folks. He does need some tweaking, but after tonight I have to say they ALL do.

Jasmine, George and Fantasia were the worst. Jasmine will get the Hawaii vote and then some, George will probably get the "save" votes and though I think Fantasia should go home, two Divas booted in a row would just escalate the racism crap and I can't see it happening.

It will probably be John booted tonight -- sadly before Big Band -- but I still think their will be only ONE "Diva" standing in the Final 2 or 3.

All that said, it was the theme and it was an awful choice.

I disagree with Jasmine being the worst. Jasmine can sing. Maybe it was that it wasn't mixed properly. Let's blame it on the mix masters.

I picked up the AI1 video a couple of weeks ago. I'm here to tell you they were far better than this bunch. Of course the video only showed the best performances.

well, that was pretty terrible last night, all in all..

but I thought that John was sounding pretty good, at least he wasn't trying to put on a performance.. I hope he makes it through.. he has grace.

Why are they trying to make Dianna look like an adult woman?

Don't recall Fantasia yelling Jennifer's name, but I sure hope she is the one to leave tonight.

LaToya is still too much the professional for me..and Simon did make mention that she sings with a band..

Poor George, he just seems like he is trying very hard, but glad to get it over with..

I like the tone of Jasmine's voice, even if she was off key sometimes, but at least she looked her age.

in agreement that Simon was using reverse psychology, but does he really think that the voters won't realize what he was doing? It was so obvious!

John Stinks. Unless they have "frank sinatra night" or lounge singer night, John's always gonna stink it up. He only has a one-track voice...a good voice when he sings his style but he doesn't have range.

George isn't very good either. He turns every song into an R&B version and makes it sound blech.

I think this year is the girl's year. And i'm all for LaToya.

hey, you know what? maybe they should let each one of us stand there in front of all those people, and the TV audience, singing a song for which we are not suited, and see how good we would do..

speaking for myself, I would stink!! how bout the rest?

If Stevens doesn't get voted out tonight, I will no longer be an AI viewer. I am apalled that he is still in the competition.

But I'm not claiming to be talented enough to get a record deal.

Hi Zerrick, welcome to InReview

It's really a matter of taste, I think.

I am more appalled at the inequity of everything ... and that they tell us they raised the bar this year ?

Phooey !

Ron mentioned a comparison to Season 1 and although some folks here may disagree, I don't think any of them can hold a candle to Season 2 either !

If you doubt, think of any one of them singing, "A Moment Like This", "Superstar", or "This is The Night".

I further think that John may be the maligned underdog ... but he really has the most potential and may be the one with longevity in the business.

Again, it's taste and maybe you think I have all of mine in my mouth and none in my ears, but it's just opinions and thanks for bringing yours.

BUT >>> Hope you don't stop watching and will visit here again.

I have to say those people disliking John is a little too strong. AI is not only judging the singing ability, but also persoanlity, isn't it? It's not called The Best Singer of America.
I agree that John is not as versitle or pop, but his style, his grace, his gentleness, and his age made him so lovable and respectful. I have so much respect for this young guy.
And I agree with the "Jennifer" screams, that was disgusting. Maybe that's why she didn't do well. She was concentrating on yelling Jennifer's name.

I also think people are too hard on John personally. We must keep in mind that he is a minor. It is insane for people to be angry at him for being in the competition. He does not vote millions of times, his fans do. Blame the fans, not John. I do think either George of John will go home tonight.

Let's not forget that these kids have coaches and producers and people who will help them wanting them to succeced. At this point any one of them can be the American Idol.

Why would John have a chance, some may ask? Simply because he is not a cookie cutter copy of the previous Idols. I mean look at what we have now

Kimberly Clarkson = Diana Degarmo
Justin What's his name = his clone didn't even make to the top 12
Ruben Studdard = George Huff
Clay Aiken = John Peter Lewis (already gone)
Tamira Gray = LaToya London
Josh Gracin = Matthew Rogers
Kimberly Locke = Jennifer Hudson

So if we look at it that way then Fantasia, John and Jasmine would be in the top 3.

Very interesting Ron. I have to agree with that. I have a feeling that Jasmine may last a bit longer than Diana.

Kimberley was more like that blonde girl that didn't make the final cut.. the one that JPL beat out, know who I mean? very pretty girl that Simon said would get a lot of guy votes.

Ruben Studdard = George Huff

How?. George dances, Ruben just stood there..George has personality

Clay Aiken = John Peter Lewis (already gone)

how are they alike except that JPL had lots of fans?

Tamira Gray = LaToya London

don't know this one...

Josh Gracin = Matthew Rogers

no way, no way, Josh was sincere..

Kimberly Locke = Jennifer Hudson

Kimberly had way more talent than Jennifer..

just my 1/4 cent worth..

I think overall it was a horrible singing night and it was excruciatingly obvious that none of them are exactly ready for prime time.

Personally, I think it was the music choices...not the songs themselves, but the type of music they picked for the week (the genre style).

I mean lets face it...the only person that can really sing this type of music is someone like Gloria Estefan.....

Whoever on AI decided that this would be the theme to sing this week...obviously never tried to sing this type of genre before.

I agree...it was a bad singing night...and its like I said...no one really stood out and impressed me overall.

I did what you did, and picked who I thought did the best based on what they had to work with.

I really dont think it was a fair night to any of the contestants...because lets face it..no one is gonna leave this show wanting to sing Latin music.

Well....you will be happy to know that I do agree with you on that one.

Seaon one and season two would blow these people out of the water in talent! There is no comparison.

I blame that on many things though...there were MANY good people this season that they let go from the auditions when they made the cuts (when they put them in the rooms and cut them by rooms)...

I still feel that there were much bettter performers that they could have had on the show, but they let them just go and this is what they ended up with....I have to believe that if they looked back they would realize that they made some mistakes by keeping some of these people and letting the others go.

Gloria Estefan night was an odd choice. She does what she does very well, but these kids are not suited for that type of music. There were other song choices available to them like "coming out of the dark" that they could have done.

Is this a question?

Well...with the genre I would say that yes, I thought it was an unfair choice to give to any of the people to sing....

But with that said...they did what they had to do with what they chose, and some did fine and others choked. It is still based on what they did with the songs they chose.

I was really surprised no one sang that song...it was a slower song, and it was more "pop" than "Latin"...

Gloria is a crossover artist. I have some of her all Spanish CD's and I like them as much as her pop music. I think it would have been cool for one of the Idols to do a song in Spanish.

Ok Ron ... I think maybe you combined Kimberley Caldwell (season 2 Finalist ) with Kelly Clarkson (season 1 AI).

Soooooo

Yes ...

*Liz LeTendre/Katie Hudson/Kimberley Caldwell

Showy blondes

*Diana DeGarmo/Kelly Clarkson

The young female caucasian belters

*Jennifer Hudson/Kimberley Locke

Curly haired talent that transformed her look/image and grew in the competition.

*Matt Rogers/Josh Gracin

The "macho" jocks with pretty good voices who challenged Simon.

*Camile Velasco/Carmen Rasmussen

Never got to their game.

BUT

*George Huff/Rickey Smith ... and there was another short guy in AI2 who worked in a supermarket. Name ?

Nice, likeable black guys, with the beautiful smiles.

*Ruben Studdard/Fantasia Barrino

Judges Fave to be the winner.

*Latoya London/Tamyra Gray
They sound and even LOOK similar

*Nikki/Vannessa/Amy
The red-pink HAIR-em

*Jasmine ... I can't really find a perfect match but maybe Christina Chistian is close ?

* CLAY ... there is no real comparison in the AI3 finals because of "that voice" ... but both JPL and John S win both for the loveable geek factor. John for polite acceptance ( albeit without the sense of humor ... I STILL think when Simon was nice to him last night he should have said, "Why thank you, Ollie ! )

***
Most unique and "different" from what's out there voices ... love them or not ... are John, Fantasia, George and gone now ... but JPL.

That would have been kinda cool....the only thing that I think would have been a drawback..is to learn the Spanish words to the song, but then them not being able to correctly "speak" the language...(if that makes any sense).

I wonder if any one of them could speak Spanish....I always found that to be one of the main foreign languages most kids took in high school.

JPL speaks Spanish proficiently. They showed him briefly in the audience last night.

I thought Jasmine might try because she is Filipino, and I think the language has some Spanish origins, No ?

I think mystic meant speaking/pronouncing the words correctly.

I think if any one of them would have sung even just a line or two in Spanish that would have been a fun boost !

Well me Im an upcoming rapstress & I really believe that it wasnt fair that Jennifer got kicked off I think the red should have been kicked off 7 weeks ago. He's boring and he just dont have if you ask me. Although alot of people dont like Simon atleast hes real cause the red head gotta go. In my opinion Jennifer or Fantasia or Latoya should win, they wakes the audience up...............

InReview is great ! All of you are. I was viewing some posts on another American Idol forum and I just can't stand them, they are mostly teens like me but they act so childish and don't care about everyone else's opinions. And they all are like " JOHN SUCKS HE NEEDS TO GO HOME " and all this, and of course you all don't complain and think of reasons why they were bad.
But, I thought yesterday was pretty bad, I missed some contestants because I was on the phone, but my mom didn't say I missed anything great. I wish George would start back on those great performances again ! I hope he doesn't get voted off. And John wasn't as bad as he was last week.

Thanks...thats what I meant!

Ive heard artists sing different languages before....billy joel for example has French in one of his songs....but Im probably sure he was able to learn the dialect before doing so....I think that maybe they would have needed more time to do that if they wanted to pull it off in a positive way...otherwise it might come out sounding even worse..you know?

Gloria night was entertaining. The music was nice but the singing was really off. I don't think anyone sang well.

1. Fantasia - Her vocals were just not there last night. Her Jennifer calls outs were just irritating but i do believe she is just being herself. She is a performer thought. Really comfortable on stage.

2. George - Bad. Song didn't fit. He didn't look comfortable

3.Latoya - What's with the horrible lightning. Thought she was off too. Was distracted by the lighting so no comments on the dancing.

4. John - Nice kid and he has been through a lot. Personally I like the kid. Still, he was really really off. Out of tune and out of place. Pls America, don't keep on voting the poor kid in. He looks like he wants to leave very badly.

5. Jasmine - Started ok but really lost it half way into the song. Weird.

6. Diana - The usually shouting by Diana. Not good. The dress was horrible. Were they trying to get the overstuffed sausage look ? She is a pretty girl who could lost a few pounds. Pls don't accentuate her fats !

Overall, I hope John gets to leave tonight. Thank you John for being such a gentleman and as Simon said, good luck to you.

After last week's results, people are ready to get out the vote again. Seems there was a record 28 million votes this week. That's ironic that a record number voted after possibly the least entertaining episode ever. Paula looks hideous by the way. If Latoya had a cat on her head during Motown week, then Paula's sporting an iguana. Ick! Diana looks great however. A huge improvement over last night.

Well in case this is John's last episode, at least we have a medley and get to see John dance again. Or attempt to. Aaaaahhhhh, humor is a good thing and I'm thankful that John provided it. John's line during the medley is "Don't worry if you can't dance." Oh wow, whatever the results, this was fun! Even better- at the end of the medley they close in on a shot of John muscle posing! Way too funny. John rocks! He really does.

Okay- groups again. Fantasia- A. Diana- A. Latoya- A. Okay. I can figure this one out. John- B. Jasmine- B. George- B. And the top group is...

A. The three ladies are safe- Fantasia, Diana & Latoya. Obvious the judges are pleased. The remaining divas are safe and I really don't think anyone else matters to them at this point. Bottom 3- John, Jasmine & George. At this point in the competition, now every one has been in the bottom at one point or another. There will be no Kelly or Clay this year with a perfect record. We get another stinker of a Ford commercial as the wholesome kids sing "Whip It." Latoya actually has to sing the words "break your momma's back." Nice. *goes to hurl* Finally, Ryan announces someone has to leave, and immediately, the three kids do a simultaneous hand clutch. If you taped it, watch that again. I've never seen anything so in synch before. WOW. Ryan tells George to...

Ryan tells George to step back so Jasmine can make her way back to the couch. The last two men in the game stand side by side. One is going home. Leaving us this week is...

Dont forget to check the website at idolonfox.com for summer tour dates. The kids are visiting 50 cities this time. You're bound to be close to one of them. Leaving us this week is....

Johnny. George clutches him close for a long time before finally heading back to the couch. The tears are pouring out everywhere. When asked what he'll miss, John in his longwinded ways says, "them" as he gestures to the Top 5. During John's farewell we get to see his happy dance again when the top 12 moved into the mansion. Woo-Hoo! Waaay too funny. John sings us out with a somewhat better version of "Music Of My Heart." Fantasia is the first to embrace him at the close of the show and they all hold him in turn. Well, bashers be damned, John had friends with him on that stage tonight. I won't be the only one who'll miss him.

Hello! i would like to share some photos from last week's (April 21st) result show when Jennifer Hudson got booted. Look at all their faces when the three divas were in the bottom three.

http://img51.photobucket.com/albums/v156/purplefishworld/American%20Idol%203/george.bmp

OMG George, he's so cute

http://img51.photobucket.com/albums/v156/purplefishworld/American%20Idol%203/4safe.bmp

I dont really think that John deserves to win the competition but at least he shows that he KNOWS he deserves to go out, but miss Jennifer Hudson is all "Whaaaa? How could I possibly be in the bottom?" That is only the thing i hated about her. She performs good, but her attitude in this competition sucks. Ops, sorry.

http://img51.photobucket.com/albums/v156/purplefishworld/American%20Idol%203/3bottom.bmp

Ugh. And at least Fantasia makes good out of it. She's got a great personality.

http://img51.photobucket.com/albums/v156/purplefishworld/American%20Idol%203/couch.bmp

wow, George, John, Diana and Jasmine look soo miserable when they go back to the couch.
